Been wanting to post about this subject since I got back from a 3 week trip to Los Mochis, Sinaloa this last week. Powerslave is correct in his post above except I found gas to be a tad cheaper @ $2.06 a gallon. I don't smoke but know my girlfriends spends about a buck fifty a pack but I do drink beer! What you pay there for a 12 pak ... you could have an 18 here ... small change differents is all. The drive there ( about 900 miles + ) cost about $200.xx with the toll roads enclude ... which most where $5.xx and located each side of every major town ... it seemed. Basic life, food and labor where the only things that I saw inexpensive. Parts for cars (master brake cyl.) was double the price than here. I was waiting for my girlfriend and saw a line of refrigerators along the wall, walked over and checked 'em out ... whoa!! the price was so high I thought I'd lost my mathematical skill of conversion. Housing was very inexpensive but to have a phone about equal to here ... took down a P-1 586 133 with 64 ram for two girls to use for their homework. The Server wanted $35.00 labor for two men to come out and plug it to the phone and have a CD install their TERRA format which cost $26.00 a month. Of coarse only the middle class family could afford these things. But get up at 4:30 am and take a drive around the country side and see the small fires going with a group of fellows warming themselves untill a pickup comes by and takes 'em up ... some going to the cane fields with their machetes and others going for what ever chores need to be done. Top wage goes to the tractor operators $65 a week down to $26 dollars for the young man just starting out. These were the people I lived with for 3 weeks. What a adventure. So much to say about this trip. Wished I had the knowledge of the quill. ...........turn the page, MuleLip |
