With apologies to Doris Day (and Sly Stone), to my way of interpretation, a nihilist would be an "extreme" form of a fatalist, or at least a rationalization for a certain Weltenschaung ("world view"). Fatalism is a primary component of the Arabic culture, which at one time, heavily influenced the Iberian penninsula and was no doubt transferred to New Iberia ( New Spain) with the conquest. There is a big difference, I would think, between "Nothing matters, therefore...." and "All is in the hands of Allah..." It must have been an interesting conversation.... KRICO
