"Hiring more donut eaters to help with the tourist crush on weekends seems like a simple solution" Every time I actually talk to an agent at the border (not often), they talk about how understaffed they are. Most complain about the agency's budget, but the one last Sunday blamed it on NAFTA. He said that if it was not for the increased work that it has caused them (I did not ask for details), they would not need more people. Of course, if more of them cared about actually helping traffic move along, they probably would not need more people, either.
