I totally agree! Every trip I tell myself that I am going to avoid the bacon dogs, but once I see(and smell) them I have to have at least a couple. Neither I nor any of my friends have gotten sick from them. The main precaution I suggest when eating at a taco stand or food cart is make sure the meat is put on the grill before they give it to you. A friend of mine once purchased a taco that he did not see being made at one of the stands near the border and got violently ill. In hindsight, he realized that it had probably been made beforehand and had sat behind the counter for awhile. He was probably lucky that he was only put out of commission for only one day. |
