Indeed they portray what we desire they portray (if they are any good that is). Recalls David Bowie's more than a generation old "Cracked Actress" or Genet's classic play "The Balcony" about fantasy fulfillment in a bordello (though at least the Genet play goes well beyond this topic). I beat this to death with my monger friends, but I look upon my life with women as a pie chart essentially cut in thirds...1/3 sex; 1/3 love and affection; 1/3 friendship and companionship. When I visit TJ, the only part of the pie that I order is the sex slice. That means that I absolutely do not have some of the profoundly good times in TJ that I see some of my buddies enjoying. But neither do I suffer the slightest twinge of disappointment in the aftermath. I did start upon a relationship with a U.S. sex worker, but I found out that she was a callgirl AFTER I started seeing her (but at least it wasn't revealed to me on the Jerry Springer show!). Aside from the pain I suffered from knowing that she was doing her thing and doing it joyfully, I also witnessed her put on her face of the day for her various clients. I also saw her friends in the business behave identically. My middle name I confess is "Naive" despite having witnessed a decent percentage of what one can see in a life. When my ex recently showed me a new website advertising her services, I was truly flabbergasted that the biographical data and non-physical description she provided of herself, was 100% unabashedly FALSE! I am terminally naive. All these chicas seem to want to open beauty parlors back in the provinces with their sex trade savings. They might be advised to get an agent and transition into acting as a more glamourous and lucrative alternative to cutting hair and painting nails. |
