I am returning to Brazil the end of February for eight days to experience my first Carnival. Because of the scarcity of good quality accomodations and skyrocketing prices in Rio de Janeiro, I decided to go to Buzios for Carnival. My Brasileira girlfriend and I will be spending Carnival together in Buzios. I was able to obtain a great honeymoon package deal at the Pousada Casa Colina. The owner of PCC, an Argentinian, was very nice and arranged for a suite with a balcony and view of the ocean. The PCC is a real nice inn overlooking Geriba Praia. If any hombres are in Buzios during this period please let me know. I will be with my girlfriend, but I would not mind hooking up with you and celebrating Carnival.

Hey Guys,

Hook up with Layne87 yesterday at Solarium for some fun. After a few hours he went to take a power nap and we met up at the office or Terrace which ever you call it in front of Help. We both picked up two from in front for an hour, and that back up at Help later, and scored with two more. So far trip has been great.

We also met 3 guys from New York and told them about club hombre.

Anyway going to meet Layne87 at L''Uomo about 4:30 for some more early fun. It's a holiday and this is the only Termas open today. We'll hit 4 X 4 tomorrow and perhaps Centeraus or Monte Carlo.

yeah be there if nothing at the beach looks good...and there has not been much there all weekend..

Sorry we didn't catch up yesterday before I left.

Dude, I ended up killing time at Monte Carlo yesterday before I left. There is a new girl there named Racheal that started yesterday. I know you'll love her. Petite, sweet, light skinned, spinner. I wanted to see her but didn't have the time. She was coming hen I was leaving. I almost stayed just for her alone. There were a number of very fine ladies in there. I'm sorry I didn't go earlier in the week. At least 7 ladies I was dieing to hit, but I only had time for 2 and you know our taste is the same.

Just how inexpensive are the flights you're finding? I'm thinking of a return trip in April, and looking for flight and hotel bargains to keep the price down enough to justify to myself another trip. (not that I need much justification)

My cousin and I are trying to hit Rio 2-7 thru 3-6 and staying at the Savoy Palace Orthon. We're both Rio "newbies" although we've both been to Europe, Thailand, and the Phillipines... We just want to have some good clean inexpensive fun with beautiful girls. Any suggestions of shortcuts to ectascy due to our limited time there?

To all Mongers:

I just went to Rio for five days - my first time. I want to thank all you guys for the wealth of info I got from reading all the posts. I wrote to a few guys beforehand, and one answered me (Trent) although the timing was such that we didn't hook up. I was so well-informed that the trip went really smooth and I had an unbelievable time.

I checked into the Marriott and immediately walked the two blocks to Monte Carlo, and it was all joy from there on out. I ended up at 4X4 on my last day on the way out of town and had the best session ever, with lots of action in between.

I'm now a Rioholic, and am planning my next visit. I met lots of cool guys on my travels and enjoyed the sociablility of it, too. Biggest adventure was the flood on Friday night Jan 24th- got stuck in the Millenium bar behind Help til 1 am and finally decided to wade back to my hotel - water up to my nads!
So once again, muito obrigado for the advance intel, even where to find the ATMs at the airport and downtown - it really helped big-time.

Hey gents -- new to the board (great discovery!) and planning my third trip to Rio for mid/late March -- long weekend, recover from recent girlfriend split sort-of-thing.

I've never done Rio with fellow Mongers and would like to have some company to pal around with this time around. I usually stay at the Debret but am considering an apartment or hotel-apartment this time. I'm a Luomo, Help and Barbarella loyalist but based on what everyone has had to say on this board, it seems time to expand my horizons....

Only wish I was down there during Carnaval with the rest of you -- have a blast and let me know if anyone is going South in mid/late March.

yo I am trying to head down to rio around april 12-19 and I would like to hit all the top spots with the best bang for the buck. If your a fellow monger let me know and we can hit the spots.

Any fellow mongers going to S.A. around 3-6-03? I plan a Rio/SP/Cartagena/Cali/Bogota/Buenos Aires trip for all of March. Any advice on airfares? Any others interested in hanging with a Brazil/Columbia newbie?

I'm heading to RIO from Feb 15-24. I figured I'd sample a little precarnival before it got too crowded. P.S. I got busted on the hombre site, so I had to choose between her or the Rio trip solo. As they say, you don't bring a sandwich to the deli.

United has a fare sale for Sao Paolo and Rio in effect until the end of February for travel through May. I just got another ticket for April 11 to 14 for Rio.

Go to United's website (www.ual.com) and do a search for Rio (GIG) or Sao Paulo (GRU) for dates between now and the end of May. I believe you get the best fares if you travel on Mon. thru Thur. I just booked a trip for mid-May and got a good fare. One point that may be important to you: these e-fares are non-upgradeable.

Bwana ... a good time as always. There are two fare sales at United. One is for travel by the end of March. The other is for tickets purchased by the end of February for travel through the end of May. Bwana is right that the travel days are Mon-Thurs. I usually leave on a Thursday night and return to USA on a Monday night. Don't know a lot more. I found the fare sale listed on Orbitz under the announcements. It was also in the United weekly email.

WWW.Varig.com also has internet specials from LA, NY and Miami that with the tax seem competitive. I am planning on going down on march 31.
