Personally, I'm a BIG fan of Sabai Lodge on Soi 2. There are many fine establishments NEAR, but not NEXT to the hotel. This reduces/eliminates any bruised egos from previous barfines. Besides, I pull some GREAT trash from Classroom 2!! Many 3-holers that will take you to the room for some insane LT lovin'...

I wasn't crying, actually can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. I remember when I first made the plane reservation it was well into triple digits -- MONTHS away. Now it's just ONE month! Of course it's also SERIOUS scrimp and save time, so the next month is gonna be a lot of daydreaming about the trip and not much else.

Porker, I was under the impression you liked PI more. Are you going to Thailand only this time and not PI ? Of course, going to Thailand only is still a really good thing.

I did like PI better, but still wanted the variety of Thailand for a two week trip, and had a girl there convincing me I should return and see her. If I can help it, I will only stay 3 days in Thailand and 9-10 in AC.

Might I recommend avoiding the Marriott. Many ladies do not like going there unless it's the one right around the corner from Nana. Also, some girls get hassled there...

Hope I did not mess up on my hotel selection. I had read on the boards that this paticular Marriott was girl friendly (this is not the Marriott Resort and Spa) and is close to the action... Got a priceline bite at $60 a night. Thought it was a good price on such short notice for new years.

In regards to Pattaya-- Sandy Springs is FAR superior to Diamond Beach. DB has old musty smelling rooms. SS is brand new and only slightly farther from the action on Walking street ,actually much closer to the beer bars on soi 7-8.
