I'm looking to go to Rio in Jan or Feb, but I do not want to get there with all the Carnival crowd which I believe is Feb 5th, so is it better to go mid Jan before, but while I'm sure they are all in planning running around, or go after when it's died down some in mid February?

Has anyone ever gone to some of the other Southern cities in Brazil and can recommend or not recommend going? I luuuuuuuuuuv natural blondes and hear there are many down there but from what I've read on this and other boards the action is not as good as Rio? I am wondering if it is worth spending a few days like Sunday through Wed in January to get some blonde pussy? Any recommendations for the best such as Curitiba, Florianopolis, or Porto Alegre? It's been over three year's since I was last there? You see some loira's here and there, but I don't like fake blondes anywhere. Meaning I usually don't chase them, even when in POA.

Remembering that you wanted to chase non-pro's in Rio, I would suggest you go to POA Fri thru Sun? And try your luck at some of local night clubs/bars?

I just returned from my first trip and I would highly recommend using a guide, we used Don and Rhonda from Rio Trips, They were GREAT!!!! They are recommended in Bwana's guide, that is how we selected them.

Don and Rhonda are brother and sister and operate a travel agency.
Rhonda was our day guide, arranged for favela tour, trip to "cristo", rented a car to go to petrolopolis, my buddy got food poisoning, she got a great doctor to him in no time.
Don was our afternoon/night guide, and does a great job of getting you to all of the termas, and also takes care of getting you escorts. I felt incredibly safe with them. You cannot go wrong, especially if something funky happens, to have them watching out for you
