In Rio now for another month, maybe more!

Oi, Hombres! New to the boards, and I'm planning my first trip to Brazil for mid-June. I was originally going to do some heavy thinking about my life, but having found CH, I know I need to schedule some major mongering time, too ;)

Right now, I'm thinking maybe two weeks in Rio, then a trip to Recife and Fernando de Noronha for maybe a week. Possibly a jungle excursion from Manaus after that, then back to Rio for about a week. The extravagance of all this will probably be pared back once I start thinking in realistic terms--I'm also afraid I'll just end up in Rio termas for about 5 weeks ;)

Anyway, I'm planning to be in Brazil for the last half of June and most of July, with the majority of time spent in Rio. If anyone wants to get together down there, let me know! I've read BwanaDik's guide and most of the Rio trip reports, and I'm currently listening to Pimsleur's, so for a newb I'm fairly well prepared.

Heading back to Rio for the first time in a year on May 27th. Only time for a long weekend -- I know, it's a crime. Staying in Copa, trying out the Princess since the Debret has become unfriendly.

Is the current pre-termas meeting spot of choice the Alcazar or Mei Pataca? 1PM right?

Doc the Princess is a good choice - get an "inside" room so you won't hear the street noise. A lot of the guys meet at Alcazar around 1pm - Have fun in Rio. The dollar is way down but the girls are still way up! - Hemp

I'm brand new to this board & will be making my 2nd trio to Rio, I went in Oct. '04. Will be in town from may 31 thru june 8 staying at the Ipanema towers in Ipanema. I'd like to get together with any or all of you while in town for a terma and/or caipirinha. If there's an official/unofficial daily meeting spot let me know when & where & I'll be there ready to go.

As an update, my chances of being in Rio in two weeks are now 50/50. Apparently the namorada has gotten shit squared away with her new passport - I think it traveled to Rio via a rowboat from Lisbon - and she would rather come here than I go there.

For some reason, after two years, she started asking questions on my last trip about my afternoon "lunches" and "happy hours" that I tend to take with my amigos, so my two years of having my cake and eating it too - girlfriend at night, termas by day - may be drawing to a close.

Actually Hemp, everything was great until I made the misfortunate decision to introduce her to you. I shit you not, I had zero questions, complaints, not a peep - just a nice don't ask, don't tell policy - for almost two years, and the day she meets you she's suddenly quizzing me. Hey Guys! Looks like I will be in Rio the last week of July. Looking forward to hanging with my buddy Hemp and Priew. Would like to spend a little more hang time with you Sandman, as we only just met briefly last trip. Really hope to get to know Brazilian Specialist better as I only spent a little time hanging with you as well.

Anyone else going to be there around that time? Lets plan a few Festas. I am still interested in that trip Sandman. Have not heard from Priew on it yet. If we cannot get enough guys together, we will do a VIPs instead. You game?

Sandman knows of a little getaway place on the water. Access to a boat and jey skis. It is not cheap but looked wonderful in his report. It is a place where you would take a girls of your choice along. It appears in his most recent trip report. Look it up!

Okay, dates for my first Rio trip are finalized. Will arrive on June 14 and will be around Brazil til July 20 at least--with possible side trips to Recife, Manaus, etc. Looks like there will be a few of us down in June. Maybe we can get a festa going...

Will be in Sao Paulo for the first time July 26 thru 31. True story - my GF not only spotted Diversity from a moving minibus, but she was able to spot and describe, in good detail, Diversity's amiga. And, she remembered seeing a pic of Diversity's family, and she commented to me that the young morena she saw with Diversity was certainly not the woman from his wallet photo. I didn't really have an answer to that one!

Hemp's mistake was telling her that she needed to make me take her to the mall. Her response was that she's not a Help puta who needs a gringo to buy her clothes. Diversity, if it makes you feel better, at Cafe Feliz over a year ago, she met SweetMesquite's pickup from Help from the night before. She asked the girl what she did for a living and Sweet's garota told her she was a flight attendent - an obvious lie, but I didn't really care. The garota gave her name as Selva, or however you spell Sylvia in Portuguese, and since that day she always asks me if Sweet has seen "jungle girl" (Selva = forest/jungle). The funniest part is, she's asked Sweet a couple of times and Sweet has no recollection of this girl whatsoever.

The moral of this story? We may not remember the garotas we fuck, but the other garotas do.

After lurking around on this board for over a year I finially booked my 1st trip to Rio. I have a huge fear of flying problem. I will be in Rio Aug. 18-27. If anyone is in town and wants to hook up for a beer or a terma run drop me a line.

After going home for Mothers Day, obviously more popular than Fathers Day in Rio, my favorita busted me by pointing out I was missing a few condoms when she returned 2 days later.

Mental note to self, have a secondary stash of condoms!

Watch out for anything in the bathroom. If a toothbrush, a bottle of shampoo, anything at all different from when your garota left you, it will be noted and you will be questioned on it. Just pray that any of the auxilery favoritas doesn't leave a piece of clothing, jewelry, anything like that behind either. Also, make sure the maids do a Level 1 cleaning of the bed and everything - a strand of hair, scent of perfume, it can all do you in.

Personally, I stick to termas and I do have a habit of getting in a day or two earlier then expected. I'll stay in Copa at a hotel for that early day or two and then move to an apartment, or at least change rooms.

My plans have totally changed, I'm flying down tomorrow night and will be in Rio all next week.
