By Scooby_1781 on Thursday, November 24, 2005 - 10:36 pm: Edit
I am heading to Medellin March 20 thru March 31. This will be my first monger trip out of the US and would appreciate anyone who is going to be their at that time to take me under their wing and showing me the ropes. I have had lots of P4P in the US but never outside. If anyone is going to be there at the time indicate please contact me.

Scooby,
Your first trip outside the US is to MDE? That might not be the brightest move. If your Spanish is not good, I would suggest that you change your plans.
I would suggest San Jose, Costa Rica, as a first trip. Then maybe you could graduate to Cartagena. After good seasoning you could attempt MDE.
By Sniper on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 - 07:45 am: Edit
Tomtom, you make mongering sound like a difficult thing. If MDE is as good as everyone says, then its the precise place he should go.
Why settle for a poor substitute? I went to Costa Rica when plans to go to Rio fell through. I was very disappointed with the quality and quantity of women compared to other places. It didn't even rank in my top 10.
Scooby, just go through all of the posts and decide where to go ahead of time. Maybe stay at the Mansion or someplace else with a lot of mongerers and you should be fine.

Scobby, I would recomend the mansion in Medellin for the beginner, you should be fine for your first trip or two until you learn a few of the ropes.

Sniper,
Finding hot pussy is not hard. Staying in one piece is. If Scooby insists upon jumping into the frying pan, the mansion boys could help.

Tomtom33, I think we should change your handle GringoinCartagena, you are sounding more like GIB (on another board) every day.

Tomtom,
Agreed, that goes in almost any country. Even Costa Rica.
If he goes to the Mansion, he should be ok. I speak as if I'm a Pro, I have yet to make a trip to Colombia. My first was supposed to be in February but it looks like March might be my date.
My first was a 9 month stay in Rio for school in the early 90's. Supposedly Rio was the most dangerous place on the planet then and I had no problem. I just stuck to the areas that were well populated and I just used common sense.
I think if Scooby does this, even without the Mansion, he should be ok. But the Mansion is obviously the way to go if you've never been there before.

Hunter,
You certainly know MDE better than I. I have only been there about 6 times and spent most of that time with my Paisa novia. One of her mantras is how safe her city is. Yet she warns me about this area and that. We walk different routes after dark. We call taxis after 9:00 pm rather than hail them in the street. Yes, we walk about late at night even in centro, but she knows where we can be and where we can't.
Based on my limited experience, would I advise a friend who had never been out of the US to take his first trip outside of the US to MDE? No.

I'm stayin at the mansion march 27th to april 3rd. Its the best place for a first timer.(My first trip to MDE).Excellent support system, good area. If you dont know much spanish, like me, you got 4 months to learn as much as possible will pay big dividends!!!

Ok heres the scoop after looking at all the pictures my opinion is that Medellin has the best looking ones. I am an ex-marine and have been to the seediest places in the U.S. that others would not dare travel. I have been to Guadalajara walking the streets near the Libertad Marketplace alone & found a 4-5 standing with some very ugly girls who were all looking for company. This was not a trip for mongering just visiting my brother in MED School. I don't speak no spanish but a few words. Yet I was able to negotiate a price of $7.00 + $5.00 room fee with a senorita who spoke no English.
I have also mongered in the Tenderloin of San Francisco dealing with some pretty seedy people. The projects of New Orleans and lots of other places a white boy should not be. The report that sold me on Medellin was Radiomans report on the Street Girls of Medellin thats what I like.
Im am a guy who gets down and dirty I love the street action and the girls of Medellin sound like the best. So any one who thinks Im skittish does not know me very well.

I was looking into the mansion but the Castillo has a room for $35.00 and I believe it is run by the same people. I even tried to call the phone numbers all day yesterday but it was busy. Does any one have a number that works.
Ps. When I used the improper English when saying "I don't speak no spanish but a few words". I said it that way to make a point and its not that Im ignorant.

Although its been 8 months since the last post, I'll try anyway.
Due to finance, had to cancel my yearly trip to LOS.
However, I was looking to visit Columbia this year instead. My Buddies are not to keen on Columbia & are going to LOS.
Myself, would like to see Columbia later this year & looking for a "Trip Buddie" to show this "Columbian Newbie" around.
Judging from other reports, the :Mansion" is the place to go whether you're a newbie or veterano.
I would be leaving form LAX.

Planning on visiting CTG at the end of March to early April. When is semana santa and what kind of impact does that have on fun?
Anyone around then?
By Tomtom33 on Sunday, January 08, 2006 - 01:56 pm: Edit
April 8 to 16 is Semana Santa. It doesn't really impact the fun. However, I don't like all the people and may leave town for the week.

Plan to monger March 19 through March 31 and want to experience hot colombianas, which city should I travel to that will have the ease of use similar to Pattaya and Rio. This would be my first trip to Colombia, will it be a good time to get there?
By Sniper on Monday, January 16, 2006 - 03:20 pm: Edit
A bunch of us are going to Medellin from March 16th through the 22nd. I've been told that if you stay at the Medellin Mansion, its very easy.
But I've been to both Rio and Pattaya and there really isn't anything in the world as easy.

Does anyone have suggestions for apts in CTG other than thru Ventura or Mary?
$50/day OK but would not mind paying a bit less...
By Ryback on Thursday, January 19, 2006 - 11:39 pm: Edit
Bros, how do you make a reservation at the Mansion? Through the website? It says they don't accept credit cards or Paypal!
By Hunter on Friday, January 20, 2006 - 08:50 am: Edit
Concarne, apt prices vary greatly in Ctg as well of the condition of the apts, most are so so, only some are up to US standards.
If it is not peak season the best thing to do, is book up an apt or hotel for a couple of days and look around for a deal when you are on the ground, its always easier to get a better price then.

I am going to Medellin the 1st 2 weeks of March. I'l be staying at El Castillo. If anyone will be there during this period please let me know. This is my first trip to Colombia. I have been to CR 6 times And to Rio and Sao Paulo. Absolutely loved Brazil. The only problem that from L.A. it took me 22 hours to get there and 24 to get back.

I am still waiting to hear from somone about going to medellin the 1st 2 weeks of March. What do you think of the Columbian love connection? Is it legitimate? Are the girls associated with the Mansion more expensive than those that are not or is that a stupid question? Is Mangos a good place to pick up the ladies or is it really dangerous? I am not looking to get my balls cut off. I just want to have a great time.Have incredible sex!!
By Ryback on Thursday, January 26, 2006 - 07:22 pm: Edit
Arteworks, I'll be there first week of March... staying at the Mansion. If its your first trip, you'd serve yourself well staying at the Mansion too.

What is the cheapest time of year to fly to Colombia? The prices on Travelocity, Cheaptickets, etc... have remained the same for while now(around $620).

Thanks for the info.
I am also wondering if it is safe to travel by bus or cab between Medellin and Cartagena? Plane seems kind of expensive.
By Tomtom33 on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 02:16 pm: Edit
Cab from MDE to CTG? That would cost more than the plane. The bus trip is over 12 hours on a good day. It can take 15 hours on a bad day. The bus is probably safe enough, but I'll fly.
