I will be in Rio for the first time and I'm going alone. Is it safe to walk around in search of the ladies? Should I taxi it to the T's or is it better to ask for one to be delivered to the hotel? What hotels don't like you having guests?

Going to Brazil for the first time March 10 to 20. Flying to Sao Paulo then to Rio for 5 days. From what I've been reading Rio is the place to be and Sao Paulo is a waste of time? Any comments appreciated and since I'm a SA virgin I'm going to read on before I ask too many of the already answered questions.
Anyone going these dates let me know! Now that I know about this site I'll post trip reports from Costa Rica and Thailand.

I will be in Rio Jan. 14-19 and in S. Paulo Jan. 19-21. Sao Paulo is definitely NOT a waste of time. I stayed there a couple of days in Nov. and I was astounded by the quantity and quality of garotas. It doesn't have the beach and impressive natural scenery that Rio has, so I wouldn't make it your sole vacation destination, but for pure mongering, it's probably better than Rio. I'm really looking forward to going back to Millenium and Cafe Photo.

Actually - it's OK to fall in love - but do it many times, and with different garotas each time.

Does anyone know if the Sao Paulo Othon Classic is a good motel? Its address is Rua Libero Badaro 190 Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo 01008-000. What clubs is this close to? Both up scale and lower class. Does anyone know if this motel is visitor friendly?

I am newbie but looking to venture through the top termas and site.

2 questions:

(1) How is the atlantico copacabana location?
(2) What is the recommended budget for vip festa, 4x4, help at 6 days? (in US dollars, or reis)

AC is my fav hotel in Rio; stayed there on all my last 8 trips. L'uomo is across the street, as is metro station with access to downtown termas. Monte Carlo is about 3 blocks away, Citibank ATM about 5 blocks. Help- you can walk to at night (but not from for obvious security reasons) or take a 3-5 minute cab ride.

We highly recommend the Atlantico Copacabana. As far as budget goes, it all depends on your level of...uhhh...activity. For most "one a day" guys, I'd say around R$400-R$500 per day. Some guys get into Rio for the first time and find themselves more libidinous than they had anticipated. If that's the case, you might think up to R$1000 per day.

Yea, I was good for 3 a day. I dont think I even did that when I was a teenager (and that was a while ago). Must be the climate in Rio. AZ

PS Gibletpie, what are those fucking pastry things with ham and cheese called? I am craving one of those damn things with a sucos I cant hardly stand it. Maybe a little Bia would be nice as well.

I'm with you azguy about those ham and cheese pastries. They are best especially for breakfast or lunch. They have some good ham and cheese pastries at the bakery for the Gourmet restaurant. Great food at a great price. When I'm in Rio, I eat there everyday.
