DM, I got a tour of the penthouse Penthouse in March '05 when Ahora's cash cows took us upstairs and showed us around. Looked pretty damned cool to me, but I as I have never stayed there myself, I can't comment on stuff like roaches, etc.

The well-heeled guys from Chicago that showed us around weren't exactly experienced Asia mongers, but they were having BLAST there taking girls from the go go downstairs (Kitten Club?) up to the Penthouse for 3-4 romps daily. I can imagine WORSE ways to spend a vacation.

Ok-- let me clarify my position. YES It would rock vs. where I'm going tonight-- Courtyard marriot in mid USA. It is in close proximity to several bars on that soi and is within easy walking distance of Walking Street. When I say it sucks, I'm speaking in relative terms vs. other pattaya hotels in terms of cleanliness, value, and staffing.

Time to board my 3 hour delayed flight... fun stuff.

The very fact those guys were pulling girls from the " Kitten Club" speaks volumes about their knowledge of Pattaya and their taste in women.

Believe me I was not defending the dump or contradicting DM. The rooms were loud ,dark, dirty, loaded with crawlies,and poorly laid out. The staff were all assholes and the "restaurant" was horrible.. Other than that I loved the place but couldn't check out fast enough.

I agree on all accounts. In addition, 1) there was all kinds of junk in the room for sale (books condoms, you-name-it), all of which you need to keep a close on eye when you have gals in the room and 2) many girls get the creepies about the place and really do think ghosts inhabit it. Ohhh, with the dreadful color schemes and over the top decorating, forget taking a picture there worth a shit.


On the plus side, I did like having the small stage and stripper pole in my room

My 2nd LOS and Pattaya trip is June26 to mid-July. Had a blast barhopping with Zhen Lu and the guys last time. Like Soi 6 cheapo bars, Soi 8 and 2nd Road beer bars, Soi 13 thru Walking Street go-gos and all. Staying at Dynasty BKK then Dynasty Resort Pattaya to cop the free shuttle and other relax benefits. Then may try Sabai Inn for a look at Soi 2 area. Who's gonna be there?

I'll be at Dynasty Inn (not resort) Pattaya the first week of July.

i will be at Sandy Springs the first week of July, coming in on June 30th. Then to PP for a few days and spending the 10-17th at President Solitaire in Bangkok.

Penthouse sounds ideal for your stereotypical cheapscate, low class visitor! Seriously KM, they have a great concept it is unfortunate that clever people have not modified the concept. Great idea in a poor environment.

I think someone would have a goldmine if they took the concept of Penthouse - i.e. rooms with a dancing stage with pole as well as a sex chair or swing etc. AND was able to combine it with comfortable modern rooms and a staff that knew how to deal with customers ala Dynasty, Sandy Spring, or Bella Villa Prima.

If I only had a few hundred million baht I think it would be a tremendous investment. Any co-partners ??

KM, I think you are right. I'm surprised the CCTV concept is not being utilized. SCENARIO - You are just relaxing in your room (without creepy crawlies) and you are surveying the talent they have on offer in the bar downstairs. Combined with the "monger comforts" in your room this could well be a winner.
