Arriving in Rio March 16th - 22nd. Looking to see if anyone else want to hook up while down in Rio. Also what are the best places to go on a budget as far as termas,clubs and restaurants. I constantly hear that woman are asking for $400 - $500. While some people are saying $150-300?

The key word is "asking." You should never pay the "asking" price or anywhere close to it.
They start at an outrageously high price because there are always a few guys foolish enough to go for it. My rule is to smile and nicely counter w/ half of what they ask and they usually settle pretty quickly.

AZguy -- I just call them "Misto Quenche," although that applies to a sandwich as much as the pastry. But that and a little pointing is all I need ;)

I had a buddy tell me that he hooked up with some of the hotel workers (Sao Paulo)that were great little cuties,that were just making some extra $$$. Whats the experience and you guys feel on this.

Have next two trips to Rio booked could use a roommate a roommate at Ipanema Towers.

In case you don't know, Copa kindof sucks during the day and the riff raff gets old. Ipanema is where it's at- Pretty girls and attractive crowds on the beaches during the days, good restaurants and cafes. Save Copa for the night and room with me in Ipanema.

Dee538, unless you're very experienced, make sense of a big city quickly, and get lucky, Rio is tough on your own. Definately find some good hearted mongers to pal around with or spend a couple nights with Don and Kenn at Amerioca Tours to get started and make some friends- It could double your fun.

I never had a guide or for that matter others to show me around, and I have gotten along fine in Rio. I would agree, however, if you don't have a certain degree of street smarts, experience in big cities, or find the work of scoping out a new place difficult rather than an interesting challenge, there may be some merit in spending the first couple of nights with Don or Kenn. And it should be clear that I'm not saying Rio is a safe place, it isn't, which is another reason a guide may be helpful for some.

I'm in Rio May 9-21, so I overlap a little with you. A lot of the CH guys regularly in Rio hang out in the afternoon at Alcazar's or TA, and are usually easy to spot. I recommend Don and Ken as guides and always pay them for at least a day of service (in addition to a phone, airport cab rides, etc.) just to have someone have my back down there.

Guys usually take off in small groups for various termas at some point, share cabs, etc.

I haven't had a festa on any trips yet, and would be up for trying that at least once.

Broman, Sounds like a plan, I will PM you when I get in town with my Ph#. I have never met Don, I have heard and read many good things about him. If you know him maybe you could introduce me to him as well. I do know Kenn stayed in one of his units last couple of times I was in town. Ok, hope to catch up with you by the river, Chow 4 now.

Quickdraw, Hard2no, others, yeah, meeting up with the guys is part of what makes Rio fun. You can't live at the termas 24/7, although some try. I'll be hitting the internet cafe every day or two to check out email, PMs, etc. Quickdraw, I'll be happy to introduce you to Don and Ken.

I know its a little bit early to post a trip in August but as I have the tickets in my sweaty little fist as I write this and the trip is a done deal so whats the harm. I will be in Rio from the 10th to the17 th August any other mongers so AR that they have planned their trips already?

I read your travel report. It seems that you know your way around, and the pic's of the girls, mamma mia! it would be great if your there at the same time, from everything I've read it seem that in rio its best to hunt in packs as going it alone can be a little unhealthy.

I was planning to go in the Memorial day week but things did not workout. I am planning to be in Rio during the 4th of july week( 29th June to 9th of july). I can see Mattp77 is going to be there and we can go for beer for sure. And trust me Mattp77, the nervousness will be gone in a heart beat once you get acquitted with the ladies and get some serious loving.lol.
