Fares have been low recently and the dollar strong which makes it easy to get to my favorite city Buenos Aires and the most decadent city in the Americas, Rio de Janeiro.

Everything is expensive in Rio for new year. I'll be on an American flight to Sao Paolo and then a local flight from Sao Paolo to the local airport in Rio. I'll be arriving about 3PM on 12/31 and departing about 6PM on 1/5. Hopefully I'll be at 4x4 by 4:30PM on 12/31!

Returning to Rio at the end of November. Will probably be there on Thanksgiving and for about 6 days after. It's better than stuffing a turkey ;-) My last trip - in August was the best so far as I extended my territory to include the downtown termas'. Thanks to everyone on the board for the great advice.

Bia came onto me and my friend SFHombre two weekends ago. I would have taken her, but she snuggled up to him. He took Bia (though she offered to do us both at the same time -- yikes) and said it was like watching a performance. She just got going and he was left to try to keep up. So actually, I think Bia may be safe from me.

My first trip to Rio is a few days Away!!!!! I plan to hit many Termas and see those garotas that I have been drooling over. With the incredible exchange rate I plan to do lots of duplas. I am going to trek up to forteleza so I will provide an update on the scene. Hopefully I will run into some of you guys. This trip is going to the best time.

Well I couldn't take it. I just returned from 12 days in BA and Rio with uwphoto and the "urge" has got me leaving again tomrrow morning 10/20. I'm headed initially to BA, but expect to hear the "call of the termas" sometime mid trip.

Would really like to go to Rio. But I don't speak a word of Portuguese or Spanish. I'm just your average 33 yr old American looking for some young booty. Do I have a chance hooking up for an extended period with a non-pro type or is my only shot the pros in the discos and massage palors.

You probably won't hook up with non-pros if you can't talk with them. Nevertheless, you can still have an awesome time at the termas and night clubs, where conversation isn't essential because it's completely understood why you're there.

Hey Tanman947. Don't worry about the language barrier. I don't speak Portuguese either and nothing is stopping me from my mission. I would go to the Termas. These are pro's. They will come to you when you walk through the door. I have good have heard some good things about Aeroporto Centro. That's where I am headed first. Have a good trip. I am sure you will have a great experience.

Well, I finally decided to take my first trip to Rio this year. Will be in Rio from Nov. 26 thru Dec. 2 and staying at hotel Debret. I just want to say thank you to all of you guys who have share valuable information about Rio and how to obtain a tourist visa.

Just got my visa back in 4 working days thru Travel document services(information which I learn from this site). I live in Dallas and would have sent the visa application to the Houston Brazilian consulate and risked of getting only a 3-month visa, but I decided to use TDS in hope of getting a 5-year visa instead. Happy to say that I did get a 5-year visa.

It seems that many of the Rio veterans will be in Rio during the week of Thansksgiving. I hope to meet some of you guys and enjoy the Rio scene. Please let me know where I can meet up with you guys out there.
