After a few trips to CR to warm up, I've decided to enter the big leagues and am making my first Rio trip from 12/5-14. Since its my first time *blush* and I don't speak Portugese, I'd be interested in meeting up with any fellow Hombres in town for a drink and some advice. Let me know if anyone is up for doing a Terma tour with a newbie.

What's the best/cheapest airline to fly into Rio or should I try Priceline/Hotwire. I gotta check this place out. Love everyones pics.

Tanman, I got my r/t ticket on American for 581 incl. tax...not a bad price at all for peak season...I believe delta is having a fare sale as well and United also had some pretty competitive rates...just depends on when you want to travel...

Will be in Rio from 28 November to 1 or 5 December. If only to 1 December it is because I have to go to BA. I told a local friend in BA that I would be in Brazil, and she insists that I visit her in BA. She is non-pro, well educated and well... carinosa. BTW, is there a bus or train between SP and Rio? Anyone know how much it costs and/or how long it takes?

just hop on a flight, much quicker/ easier and shouldn't cost that much more...I'll be in Rio from 12/6-12/14 but I know there are a ton of mongers there for Thanksgiving...you may be able to find an even cheaper flight on United, so be sure to comparison shop...my advice would be: go go go!

Mr Bill - the bus is 8 hours and costs 15-50 bucks, depending on how much luxury you want (15 is a normal greyhound type bus, 50 gets you an overnight bus with a bunk to sleep in). Forget the train, you've got a choice of 3rd world train from hell, or a $300 a seat luxury overnight.

Rexx is right, the ponte area (air shuttle) is really your best bet - it's walk on and about USD$50-100, depending on how the exchange rate is going. There's one every 1/2 hour,even more at rush hours. However, if you are flying to Sampa, you will be landing in Guarulhos Airport (right outside of town), the shuttle leaves from Congonhas airport (south side of Sampa), about 30 miles and 1 hour in GOOD traffic away. There are shuttle busses between the two. On the positive side, the shuttle arrives in Rio at the Santos Dumont airport, right downtown... within waling distance of the Termas if you are in the mood for a quickie ;-) and within 10 minutes of Copacabana. Of course, there are plenty of regular flights from Guarulhos airport to Galeao/Tom Jobim airport in Rio (30 miles/ 45 mins from Copacabana), but I don't think that they are walk-on. Try and reserve a continuation flight now (from the States) and then you'll have to figure out cost/benefit/time considerations.

I'm planning on flying to Rio prior to Carnival. I looked into a one way to B.A. from Rio and then flying home from there. I was quoted $400. Is that the going fare or is it possible to fly cheaper? Ideally I'd like to go someplace just as Carnival hits(Salvador, B.A etc) but local flights are spendy for the couple of days.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Funpaddy - When I was in BsAs this May and wanted to get back to Rio, I got a round trip ticket which was cheaper than one-way from Blame-it-on-Rio. The round trip cost was $330. However they over charged my CC by $50usd. Don´t know if they fixed it yet. He said he would but didn´t check. It was still cheaper to buy a round trip even with the $50 over charge.

I will be arriving in Rio on Nov 26-Dec-3. I have been to CR eight times in the past three years, but this is my first trip to Rio. I am hoping to meet some of you guys. Always nice to put a face with a name. I will be staying at the Debret. Maybe meeting fellow mongers at the Alcazar for lunch?

I know I'm a newbie to the board but I just realized something and I thought maybe a couple of you might appreciate the story before doing anything stupid. Take this for what its worth. I own a motel. Everyday this hot blonde latina with a slammin body walks her dog down the street to the beach in a tight fitting outfit. I also notice her speed walking for exercise sometimes down the same street. Anyway this summer one of my customers is working down the street and she walks by and strikes up a broken english/spanish conversation with him. He thinks she is under the impression he's spanish or something and just says to her "no comprende". He's dumb but not stupid and when she get's closer to him and feels his arms and chest muscles and purrs something in a foreign lanugage, he gets the message. He tells her to meet him back at the motel at eight. She understands enough of this and shows up. They go straight to the room for 30 minutes or so to do the deed. After a week he leaves the area but she's still coming around about one or two times a week always in the early evening and asks for this guy. After a couple of time telling her "no he's gone bye bye" I figure what the heck and invite her to my room for a drink. I give it to her and turn on the music and sit down, she get's up and sits next to me on the couch. She sits very close and does the same thing feeling my arms and chest and whispering something in my ear. So I lucked out and took his place nailing this garota for about two months now. I come to find out two of my employees have had her a couple of times too back at the empoyees quarters. I also come to find out this woman is married to somebody who works nights. Although I've never asked her what she did for a living in Brazil I doubt she'd tell me the truth. I recently found this website and joined out of curiosity of visiting either CR or DR. Before this website I didn't understand the termas or that so many girls in Brazil worked in them or on the program. So it recently hit me what this girl is all about although I've never given her a dime nor has she asked for any. Now, I've seen her husband and he's in his 40's and about 150lbs overweight but he is a huge MF. Anyway the point is... you may be able to take the woman out of the termas and into a much better lifestyle but you probably can never satisfy the sexual appetite and variety these chicas have become accustomed to after working in the termas. Just something to think about.

You are 100% correct. I had the same thing happen to me. Once these girls get use to the life style, yes you can bring them out of the termas but the wild fire inside of them is still burning. These girls love the action and without it they go find it some where else.

In short if you can find an ex-termas garota that is extending service for free and she is gorgeous than hang on to her. My buddy took one from the termas and brought her to Europe with him. It has been two years and everything is good. Lets hope for his sake he never comes home early from a business trip and finds a surprise

Another Rio trip scheduled, this time for Dec 20th through Dec 23rd! I just got free and couldn't find a ticket anywhere. I couldn't even get a seat in First Class with FF miles to anywhere in South America. I finally found a cheap enough flight to Rio through our corporate travel system of all places, so I snagged it right away.

I'll be back in Rio on Dec 31st through Jan 5th too for the New Year.

I will be back in Rio from January 10-25. I was there for 1-1/2 weeks during Thanksgiving. I was part of Don's crew at the Alcazar. I recommend that all new guys hire Don for their first trip. I'm on my first trip to Brazil and will be staying for two weeks. I've got a hotel for the first five days (Jan 1-5), after that, I don't know. I'm keen to have a drink with a few of you regulars to help me get the lay of the land, so to speak.
