I was led to believe that Safado translated as "shameless"
Any other Brazil guys here able to confirm or deny that?
Nice addition though Hombre.
By Sabio on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 01:12 pm: Edit
The closest translation of safado is pervert, but the connotation is more socially acceptable than that of pervert.

I'd like to encourage everyone to suggest further terms for inclusion, so that the dictionary will truly be a solid reference tool for the inquiring mongerer.
Many thanks go to Athos for helping me out with the Brazilian terms, and to a group of guys (Hombre, Slicey, Porker, StrikeEagle and CF) who helped with the Mexico/TJ stuff one afternoon in the chat room.
Oh, Sandman, Safado is shameless. The definition is a continuation of the Safada entry, the word directly above it. The first word you see there is "shameless."

"Bull_Winkle-ized"
Trip report lingo.
They tell you rather dramatically,
"I never believed this could happen to me", and
They tell you that you won't believe it,
and you don't believe it,
but its true.
(Not to be confused with "bullshit")

First off. GREAT JOB MURASAKI! Wow.
Ok, here is my small addition to the term Siam.
Siam changed its name to Thailand in 1939. But it was unofficialy done and it changed back to Siam in 1945 thru 1949. On May 11, 1949, an Official Proclamation changed it to Thailand.
So maybe something along the lines of, "Thailand was known as Siam until 1949."

A few unlisted terms have already popped into my head, and I'll probably think of a few more. These are mostly TJ-specific slang/Spanish terms that frequently find their way into discussions.

padrote
sin ropa
ratero/Ratero Central
Hottie Central
"The Alley" (Callejon Coahuila)
BOT FAQ
Nogie (for you Nogales guys)
joto
masajista
flaca
gordita
I'll leave it to the creators of this section to decide which ones are appropriate, and to come up with definitions.

Thanks Xen. I know that Thailand used to be Siam, but these terms and their definitions were written so that they were pertinent to what board members are talking about in their posts and trip reports. When a mongerer refers to Siam, it's always about the shopping/dining area, not the historical country. At least I hope so!
KM, farang is on the update list. I caught it last night after I sent the final list to Hombre. It should be up soon. Forgot about cheap charlie. Keep them coming. And Farsider, I'll confer with my Mexico consultants on which terms to add.

Spanish slang for the number of f***s one want´s with a chica, which was asked and answered by me in the Central American section.
un polvo: one poke
dos polvos: two pokes
tres polvos: three pokes
the key verb to say to the chica is ¨polvo¨.

Dust? You sure? Doesn't make sense. In Mexico it's 'palos'.

Porker I´m sure! If you´re ever in C.A., and want more than one ¨polvo¨ in a session, tell the chica that. It´s just slang for the region.

Puerto Galera - a popular tourist destination in the Philippines. Sabang town is synonymous with Puerto Galera and offers mongering activities, as well as, diving and other water recreational sports.
...(prog)
By Progman on Sunday, June 22, 2003 - 01:14 pm: Edit
Alee43,
Coger (sometimes spelled cojer) also means to catch. In mongering terms it means to fuck or stick your dick in her. You'll also hear "tu me subas or "yo te subo" which mean you get on top and fuck me or I get on top and ride you. Bottom line is that if you ask a working girl to coger she's not going to think you want to play catch.
...(prog)
By Robert Johnson on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 05:35 am: Edit
Actually, it is appropriate, that "coger" means both "catch" and "screw." Her pussy catches my dick.
I believe the post on "Mestiza/o" was accurate: woman/man. Perhaps Milkman was confused, as ususally words are listed in their male/female forms, in Spanish.
The Clubhombre dictionary lists the definition as one who is of Indian blood. Isn't it, of Indian and Spanish blood?
