I think it would be cool to have a a report page where we compare across countries the number of photos, the average score of the photo, average number of votes per pic, and also the first quartile of rating scores, median rating, and third quartile of rating scores

As a scientific sorta guy, I heartily agree. As a guy who's been observing the photo scoring system for quite some time, I have to tell ya that'd be a waste of effort and an exercise in frustration. It boggles my mind to see a shot of a pair of boobs beat out a shot of well composed beauty lying naked on the bed -- and don't even get me started on how an ordinary Brazilian ranks higher than a Thai cutie.
Actually, the whole scoring method would make for some fascinating research for someone with real stats experience, but you'd need access to the raw data. I don't suppose any university would provide a grant to study our behaviour, I suppose?
Sayyyy ... I wonder what Marty Rimm is up to these days?

I think that the photos score lower than they should because of competition between photographers. I watched one of mine that averaged 7.4 for the first 15 votes. Then 2 votes came in and it went down to an average of 7. That means that 2 voters gave it an average of 2... 2!!!! What kinda hound do you give 2 to??
I suspect what would level out the voting system would be some sort of accountability i.e. allow access in a seperate window to the individual voting results against voters names. It wouldn't be too difficult to do that on a database system.

Y'all are taking this waaaay too seriously !
It's only numbers selected by retards for all we know. There is no intelligence test to pass before you are allowed to vote here.
If your trip is suddenly not as good as you thought it was because some idiot gives you a one or a two then you should stop posting pics.
Nothing personal meant to anyone above - I just think the rating system has taken a life of it's own. If everyone used Hombre's guide for ratings there would be a lot more tens and NO twos or threes let alone ones . The problem is everyone makes up their own system for rating pics making any rating number useless !!
Either you standardize the system or ignore it. I choose the latter.
This post accurately reflects why it was impossible to fix the old system without limiting it to a small number of qualified judges and why the new rating system was implemented. A few new general statistical shortcuts have been added to easily identify generic trends.

Hombre-
Not that I even begin to understand your new photo rating system, or even like it (there, I said it again), just out of curosity, what is the highest vote so far since Sept. when you made the change?
I have seen a few in the 60's, several in the 50's, a number in the 40's, a bunch in the 30's and 20s and a whopping number in the teens (and here is my chance to make a rhyme)....what pray tell does it all mean?
Inquisitive minds want to know. At least the old system gave us some clues.....?
Yeah, buddy, I am rappin your skull on this one!
Funny, how the highest ever rated photo of Adriana in cuba was taken with a $99 camera!
I miss that guy....and her too!

There are always going to be those who do not give genuine ratings. If someone has a picture that they are embarrassed to post or uncomfortable with finding out what others think, chances are we won't be missing much by their not posting it. The new rating system does not truly represent the quality of the woman being photographed. That is supposed to be what this site is all about. If someone wants to have their photography skills judged, they should join a photography web site. We are supposed to be providing information on good looking women for p4p in other countries. This is not a photography contest. Furthermore, I find a 7 attractive and I find a 10 attractive. There is a big difference between an 8.5 and a 7. The current system does not acknowledge this.
