When we get the email notification, how about a link directly to the inbox being included with the email notification? Then all we have to do is put in our User ID and Password, and it takes us directly to the inbox. Many of the other boards have this feature, and it is very convienent.

Better yet, include the message text itself. That way we need only log in if the message requires a reply.
