Any ideas on a better hotel?
By Redongdo on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 02:20 am: Edit |
Robertx,
I see your point, and I can see maybe where they're trying to recoup the losses from the off days that they are now experiencing due to the slower times.
I stayed there just this last Saturday and Monday night...ended up somewhere else Sunday night. Saturday night I'd say they were booked up at around 11 or so...I'm sure they're not losing biz..or not much on Saturday or Fri. Monday night I went up there pretty late as I was debating whether or not to stay the night or head back to Redondo and got stuck with a room on the 3rd floor.
There was nothing wrong with the room and it wasn't any noisier than the 4th or 5th floor, but I generally prefer the 4th...they claimed the higher floors were booked up.
Oh and the way they told me....on Saturday, after getting settled in I wandered out on the street and found a sg pretty quick...as we were headed to the elevator the desk guy laid down the rules...later on I stopped by to get the full story.
The Cascadas is probably the only real consistent money maker the Miami/LC/BT comglomerate has so perhaps they're trying to milk it to compensate for the other places.
By Robertx on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 09:12 am: Edit |
Diego: I paid $7 for ficha drinks at AB this weekend, but I agree and usually don't buy them. Most of the time the chica has to talk to for 10-20 min if she wants my business. During that time I don't buy any drinks. The whole thing is not as nice as in the past.
I have not been at Cascadas lately, but even if you negotiate with one guy to have you take more chicas, this all will be forgotten, the next shift comes.
Red: Did you pay the extra $12?
By Erip on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 11:39 am: Edit |
They are on to us just as Hotel Coahuila (AB's hotel) was at an earlier date. Coahuila rented all night rooms for about $22 for a long time...realized that us studs and Viagra users were getting too much value out of that so they raised the price to what, $35? Mas? Cascadas meanwhile was a hassle free environment for the multiple chica mongers. Now they've caught and passed Coahuila for closing the value gap.
Take enough Viagra and Pueblo Amigo becomes the best deal in TJ for a hotel!
By Redongdo on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 04:05 pm: Edit |
Erip,
Correct, Hotel Coahuila is 35 bucks.
***********
Robertx,
The context of my post is a little off. The girl I was with was technically the first of the day so they weren't trying to charge me extra for her. They were just informing me of the new policy.
By Conejo on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 06:07 am: Edit |
This new policy SUCKS! I really like Cascadas for the convenience factor, but it is not worth $40, $52, $64. I will go there next time I stay in TJ, but only so I can walk out after inquiring about their new rules. Maybe if they see enough business walking out the door, they will realize how stupid this policy is. Anyone know if the other hotels have started to pull this crap as well?
By Youngbrig on Saturday, November 17, 2001 - 10:29 am: Edit |
There is an inherent disorganization to Cascadas that a crafty Monger can use to his advantage, I think...in terms of using the two entrances to his advantage, I mean...Plus, different desk guys at different times of the day and night, etc...
A key might be to get the talacheros, or at least a few of them, on your side, otherwise they can be little tattletales...
I got turned-in this past week by a talachero (one that is not on my payroll) for hanging-out in my chicas room, despite the fact that I had my own fully-paid for room...
I was told by a Cascadas higher-up I could have the chica as a guest in my room, but that she would have to pay a guest fee if I were to sleep in her room...
What did I do?...I respectfully said Okay, went to my room, took a shower, and went back to my chicas room and spent the night...Not another mention of there being a problem...
An inherent disorganization exists at Cascadas...

Has anyone been hit with this new policy while taking their 2nd, 3rd or more upstairs? I'm heading down Tuesday for an overnight and this would cramp my routine. I wonder if this applies to the jacuzzi room and regular rooms on weekdays? I'd rather slip the bellboys $5 than give it the guy at the desk. They do all the work. Damn those greedy lil' fucks. Are there any other hotels that are comparable to Cascadas that allow SG's and multiple trips?

Please don't give in to these rediculous demands. They were pestering me on girl number two. And, please please please don't start giving fives to the worthless scum talacheros who spend there time trolling for tips but can't be bothered to actually clean or change a sheet. They will be on all of us like hawks. Just use the opposite door.

Cuba;
I won't give in, but what are the alternatives? I plan on using both door sets for multiple sessions, so it should give at least 8 hours in between using the same door with different chicas.
Do you know of another hotel I could use that is comparable and allows street girls? The money is not so much the issue, it's the convenience I'm looking for.

YoungBrig is right, there is vast disorganization at Cascadas - it is in Mexico so what else is new? The problem is when you need a reliable service. One thing, the only thing reliable at Cascadas was that you could bring any girl any time, as long as you had your own room. Now this place simply has nothing unique to offer and one can get a room elsewhere.
I just hope that enough mongers realize that before more of us get ripped of. In a few weeks or months things will smooth out again. The only thing reliable in MX is that no rule really sticks.

As of last week Cascadas was accepting the 20% off of rooms coupon from the Hong Kong site on www.gototijuana.com .Using thier creative math skills they took five dollars off the price of the regular rooms for both me and a buddy and accepted them two days in a row.More of course would be marked off of the $67 jacuzzi suites.
When you print these out you also get several 2x1 coupons for drinks and cerveza's that were gladly accepted at Hong Kong after thier normal 2x1 happy hours are over. For those who prefer Miami bar there were no problems scoring the 2x1 drinks in Hong Kong and walking into Miami to drink them. They also print with $5 off private and table dance coupons which i never tried to use nor did i try the 50% off cab fare coupon they give.
The Chicago club however refused to honor thier coupons which were printed from thier link on the Gototijuana site.I would assume the same would be true for the coupon they show for Hotel Jalos.

I checked in Wednesday around 1:30 pm and brought Aricelli up to my room. Around 5:30 brought my other favorita SG,had a big fight with her (saw the condom wrapper from Aricelli and flipped out, saying I'm supposed to be the only one...yeah right), 9:00 brought in Isabella. All the same entrance from the alley and not one time did I get hassled or charged extra.
Maybe they loosened up their policy or maybe I grease their palm when i checked in. ($2.00)

Oh, by the way, what happened to the porno channel? What a let down. Somebody said it had sound now but I got no porno only spanish stations.
By Robertosol on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 - 09:50 pm: Edit |
I was there on Tuesday, for short term use. The porn channel was working with sound, but grainey picture. Maybe they have some technical difficulties with the channel.
By Redongdo on Thursday, November 22, 2001 - 02:55 am: Edit |
Pecs,
It's on channel 5 now, not 8. As with anything in TJ some of the rooms have busted tubes. A couple of weeks ago I couldn't turn the sound down!
By Tomas on Thursday, November 22, 2001 - 10:14 am: Edit |
I think it's more of a weekend problem than a weekday. Most mongers go on the weekends anyway.

I couldn't get any channel between 2-13 only from 30 +.

I couldn't get it Tuesday night. Somtimes it works, sometimes not. The best you can try is have the guy use the remote to get either channel 9 or 5.

I haven't been able to get the porn channel for a couple of weeks now...I have spent quite a bit of time going into the menu screen-- both with and without a remote-- and trying to add channels, etc...
But to no avail...
No problem, tho, at the Rizo de Oro...plus they've got sound over there...

I ran into Cascadas "$12 for 2nd (and more) guests" last Friday night. I was ticked, didn't have that problem the week before. I wonder if its only on Fridays.
On the porn channel: another sore spot, seldon has sound, and you do like sdcruizer says, get'm to use the remote to change it to the right channel, then don't change it or turn it off.
Basically 2 strikes on Cascadas...
On Rizo de Oro, I was looking there first, the clerk doesn't understand the 25% off coupon (?), then can't come up with a clean room, let alone porn channel. What am I doing wrong?

Well spent the night at this place last night. God, make the mistake of accepting room 226. Noise til 7AM. That fuckin Hong Kong must have a ton of girls. They where announcing them non-stop from shortly after mid-night til 7AM. Then some bitch with a big mouth kept yelling in the hallway around 8AM. I'll try elsewhere next time.

BTW, what time is check out time at Cascadas? They finally kick my ass out at 1:30PM this afternoon and the guy who cleans rooms was pissed. The guy at the front desk didn't care.
FYI, $29 and no porn.

Why would you take a room on the second floor?
It's been posted many times not to take anything below the 4th floor, due to noise. Saddly, you found out the hard way why guys say this.

Re: the recent 'rule' of cascadas chargin $12 after the first chica:
on 12/23, I went up to the desk clerk and in spanish asked him if it was true that they now "count" how many girls you bring up. He said yes. He then told me that for the Jacuzzi room, which I believe he quoted as $65, they 'allow' 4 girls before an additional charge kicks in. A freind of mine who speaks even better spanish than me went so far as calling up the manager and having an in-depth discussion. He said all the hotels were doing it now, it is standard procedure. We both told him we will take our business elsewhere-which is basically b.s. as cascadas and rizo de oro are owned by same people and the 80% of the sg's will only go to hotels on the alley. If anyone has an alternative to whcih sg's will go, please post.
By Harold_Johnson on Wednesday, January 02, 2002 - 10:02 pm: Edit |
They didn't give me any shit about coming in and out (with the same girl) but they did want to know what room I was in every single time.
By Hippie on Wednesday, January 02, 2002 - 10:26 pm: Edit |
Rizo de Oro and Cascadas are not exactly owned by the same people. People from the same family own both, as well as many other places, but it is not like they are one big company. Different ones have ownership in different places in varying percentages, or so I have been told by a couple of their managers.
By Harold_Johnson on Thursday, January 03, 2002 - 09:58 pm: Edit |
How is the Rizo de Oro? Looks pretty nice from the street (I know looks can be deceiving). How much are their rooms, etc. TIA.

When staying at Cascadas, does it matter what side you enter from, I mean the Miami side or LC. If you enter from the Miami side with one girl then later go up form the LC side do they know and stop you and try to get you to pay more money?
By Explorer8939 on Sunday, January 27, 2002 - 12:17 pm: Edit |
Here's what I do:
In the afternoon, I bring in a chica from the Alley side. Then, a couple of hours later, from the LC side.
Then, after the 8pm shift change, I bring in another chica from the Miami side. And then another chica from the LC side.
In other words, it is likely that you can bring in more chicas to Cascadas than you can handle WITHOUT paying the $12, if you plan carefully.

Thanks Explorer8939. I am planing to stay for a couple of nights. My two special girls, one at miami and one at LC mentioned to me the last few times that I should stay in TJ, so I will. I am thinking about the Jacuzzi rooms or a double, up on floor 5 or 6, what do you think?

On my last trip Hotel Cascadas was accepting the 20% off coupons from either the Miami or Las Chavelas portion of the website 2 nights in a row.(paid for second night at checkout time of first night)There are other coupons of interest too.Go to this link and click on the "click here for coupons" button on either Miami or Las Chavelas.
They can save you enough a night on a jaccuzzi room for one of those 100 peso sg's.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but when you check in at Cascadas, do you pay for all the nights you are going to stay. or do you just pay one night at a time. I am going down this wed. and will be in TJ for six nights. Is Friday & Sat. a problem if you are already staying there.
Thanks.
By Explorer8939 on Sunday, February 03, 2002 - 08:50 am: Edit |
Pay for one night at a time.
If you pay for Friday/Saturday in the AM, you should have no problem.
By Trumpet on Sunday, February 03, 2002 - 07:51 pm: Edit |
Thanks Explorer8989, I thought that on Fri. and Sat. real early I would be ok, but just wanted to make sure.
By Robertx on Monday, February 04, 2002 - 08:29 am: Edit |
Why would you pay one night at a time? That defeats the purpose of being able to sleep past 1 pm with your chicas. Trumpet: Maybe you can pay for one night first on Wednesday and see if you think you can survive 6 nights in the hell house. I know I couldn't, but then I am more sensitive about my sleep than others. But if you really want to party with las chicas you need a hotel past noontime and your best bet for long TLN is Wednesday or Thursday night.
By Explorer8939 on Monday, February 04, 2002 - 10:10 am: Edit |
Okay, maybe 2 nights at a time, but you need to consider the potential of having to leave Cascadas before the pre-paid period. Besides, if you are snagging chicas until the afternoon, I would imagine a transition to El Parador would be in order.
By Erip on Monday, February 04, 2002 - 02:17 pm: Edit |
Rx, I'm curious to know if paying for the second night in advance has actually kept the staff from bothering you before 1PM? It never occurred to me that the hotel would be so efficient as to actually advise the room cleaners which rooms are holding over for another night and which are being checked out of. I always have paid one day at a time, so I just don't know.
Actually, whether they knock on the door or not, there is always some source of extreme noise going on in the hallways that prevents me from being able to sleep through the morning there.
Btw, do you guys ask them to clean your room when you are holding over...and then trust them to be in the room with your stuff when you aren't around?
By Redongdo on Monday, February 04, 2002 - 02:24 pm: Edit |
With the controlled chaos that is Cascadas I think we can forget trying to establish a policy or pattern that is consistent.
I've had them knock when I still had the room for another day and I've had them not knock at all when I just coughed up 5 bucks for a short time with a sg.
I've never had probs with them cleaning up when I'm not there, but of course never leave anything you'll miss later etc. Also when I've hung out in the Zona past 1pm but needed a place to stash my bag the desk guys at Cascadas were more than happy to let me leave it with them. I tossed them a buck when I split.
By Youngbrig on Monday, February 04, 2002 - 11:01 pm: Edit |
The Cascadas intelligentsia not sending someone around at 1pm to kick you out?...I doubt it...You could have paid two weeks out and you would still have black-shirted Cascadas security guy knocking on your door in the early afternoon, or at the very least a talachero...you know they are really serious when Arturo is the one doing the knocking...
The key here, of course, is to get a receipt when you pay...

Erip, I have not been there in almost a year, but yes I used to check in on Thursday, stay until Sunday and sometimes did not get bothered. Me and my chica never woke up before noon, ordered breakfast at 2, no knock in 50% of the cases.
Other times they even sent up the police to kick me out at 1.30 after I refused to leave, yelling at them that I had paid for 3 nights.
Later on I taped the receipt against the door, which indicated that I had paid for 3 nights. That helped, but then the COMPLETE lack of consideration by staff and other residents precluded long days in bed anyways. I remember one night, I had my favorite room on the 6th floor, when the fuckers decided to do some roof cleaning at 7 am on a Saturday morning, just above my bed. Not even my amiga who lived in la zona could sleep through this!

I stayed there two nights last weekend and only got the coupon discount the first night, missed the hint. I showed the coupon on the Las Chevalas side first, and was told there were no rooms until 1PM, this being 11AM. Walked around to the other entrance, and was immediately allowed in. Paid both in advance, and got the knock, before the bellboy? remembered I had paid for two days in advance.
