My limited experience is when a Tropical chica is leaving the club, she gets aggressive as a way to maximize the income before the time is due. I have met three aggressive ones there and all were dissappeared within a month, one of them I heard was pregnant (not by me, of course).

The "good" chicas in TB are not eager going up. They make good money by just dancing with hombres. Some are so busy that you have to wait for your turn to dance with them.

The place was loaded with girls on early Thursday evening. I was amazed as to the quality of girls. There was one new girl that caught my eye. Last Sunday I caught the 6pm variedad at AB. Afterwards I wandered over to Bar Tropical. As soon as I walked in I spotted a couple of the usual suspects, namely Daytimer and Kodack. I joined them and enjoyed a floorshow already in progress. They informed me that some of the dancers were getting naked. Of course I do not put up with that kind of crap, and as a testament to my strong principles I got up to leave. Before I could untangle my feet from beneath the table a nurse appeared in the dressing room door across the room. Nevervana: whenever I went to the zona I always made a round of the clubs and always took a peek inside Tropical. My conclusion is that it's like what you said last, a place to hang out mainly. Unlike AB where either you freely roam until you end up next to someone who catches your eyes or can sit down and be approached by a girl, here it looks like you "must" sit down. That is, the environment is just not conducive to roaming around with beer in hand. I guess it's because the girls are not roaming around either.

I think this place is for the "regular" TJ mongers who are tired of the obvious AB, CC... scenes and who want a little challenge and can afford to spend lot of time and money doing so. Supposedly you're supposed to sit down just like a hang-out place and then invite a girl or get the waiter to invite a girl to your table. You are then supposed to buy her drinks and make small talks then lastly and finally pop the question to see if she goes to the room. Since I'm not a "regular" TJ monger, it's just seem too time-consuming and lot of fusses (and lot of money?) to go through for the "possibility" of getting laid. The plus side is that the girls can be young and fresh, unlike the old pros at AB, CC... And supposedly you can improve your chance of getting laid by doing research (here) or bribe the waiters for tips (on who's doing it).

For the occasional visitors among us, IMO it's better to just forget BT and go straight to AB, CC... where you're more certained of a session without all the hassles. I mean for example if you can only spend one night or two in TJ every six months, would you risk spending a large amount of time and money just on the "possibility"? and what if the "young and inexperienced" chica turned out to be a dud in bed?

You are right about occasional TJ visitors being better off at AB and CC. AB and CC are almost a sure thing as far as sex. You will rarely be totally disappointed.

Tropical is for hard core lovers of Mexican music and "natural" Mexican woman. I have never detected silicon in Tropical. Most of the girls do not speak any English. The average age is much less than AB or CC.

The strip shows are AWESOME!!! They have a show about every two hours. The beers are two for one up until early evening.

Dancing is a big thing there. The girls are there to dance with customers as much as they are there to go to the room. Even the hotties are very low volume going to the room compared to AB and CC. If you like to dance, Tropical is one of the best ficha bars in TJ, IMO.

Even if you don't dance, it is enjoyable to sit and look at the girls, drink cheap beer, and enjoy the strip show. BUT, you must enjoy Mexican music or you will not like Tropical.

Tropical is not a place a Newby is going to like immediately. It took me years of checking it out before I became addicted. I have evolved in my mongering habits over the years. For years I just went to a bar, drank beer, looked at girls, then chose a girl to go to the room.

Now I like to take my time for hours in Tropical, drinking, dancing, groping, and talking before going to the room. YoungBrig....I can not answer your question about the shows starting at noon. I have never been there that early. The shows that I have seen lately have been at 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm. So maybe there are shows at noon and 2pm also.

Yeah, I remember Paty and others that are gone now. I really liked Emily. She was a hottie and was lots of fun to dance with and go to the room with.

I think one reason I like Tropical is that it can be unpredictable at times. Some days and nights are amazing, then the very next week it is not nearly as good. One example of unpredictability was when the dancers all started going totally nude recently. That was a sudden change in what I had seen before. Sometimes there are so many young hotties it is overwhelming. Other times there are very few girls. You just never know about that place.

Also going to the room with a chosen girl can be unpredictable. Sometimes they will say no. That is something most of us mongers are not used to. Sometimes the girls will go for $30 or $40 and give an GFE. Other girls will insist on $70 and just lay there. It is exciting for me, because it is like finding a diamond in the rough when I hit on a good one.

As far as waiter rip offs are concerned. Tropical has been famous in the past for the rip offs. I have to say that during the past year it has been much better. There are no more cheese plates and bag of chips scams. There has been a couple of times a waiter was slow bringing back the change, but they did so when I complained. The best thing to do waiter wise, if you go regularly, is to find one you like and trust and only use him or her. I love one waitress(Thelma). She brings the change back immediately and I never give it a thought she is going to rip anyone off. I tip her well and she treats me and the hombres at my table well. I love it how she continually refills the ice in the bucket. She is a sweetheart and fun to dance with also.

Did I ever tell you guys about when I owned two condo's on Waikiki Beach? Will not right on the beach as they were actually on the Ali Wai Canal about three blocks from the beach.

Anyway I owned them with my accountant(single) and my banker(divorced) about twenty years ago.

The rule was that we all three had to fuck the real estate broker who made 9- 10k on each purchase. we would tell her the news about two days before closing and always picked a doll. We never broke the rule.

We owned them for about five years and had to go over for inspections every six months. Bottom fell out of the fuckin real estate market as Japanese economy went down the toilet, and we lost our ass on the real estate, but man was it worth it.

I've been in TB a couple of times, but never stuck around long. I am a "hard core lover of Mexican music and "natural" Mexican women", so maybe I should hang out here more often! I have 2 questions:
If you hang out here for a couple of hours, how many lady drinks do you buy and how much are they? If you do happen to take a girl upstairs, what is the time limit and do they knock early?

I have fairly often had great fun upstairs with the women from this bar, without spending a fortune on them downstairs - or, up.

I usually dance a few songs, at $1/song. That serves a number of purposes: I have kind of gotten to liking dancing. I'm not good at it. I often tell the women, "Gusto bailar, pero, por favor, necessitar una maestra!" [I like to dance, but please, I need a teacher!] I don't speak much Spanish - four college units worth. I'm probably messsing up this little bit. I need a teacher, please! So, those who know the language quite well, please feel welcome to teach.

Dancing also gives a chance to warm up to each other - or, not. Does she look at me, at least a fair amount? Or, snuggle up to me? Is she energetic, or lazy? Does she want to "rule the roost," or is she willing to suggest, but let me "rule"?

To elaborate on this last point: a fair number of women seem accustomed to dancing one, maybe two numbers, then, leading - or at least, me - off the dance floor! This may be because they don't like the music - or me. It may be that the strip show (variedad) is about to start. I try to figure out what is going on, and may just pay them the $1-2, and move on. Sometimes to another woman there, sometimes right on out the door.

Dancing with a woman is a much more effective means of evaluating how a woman is going to behave in the bed, than drinking with her!

When I want to go up with a woman, I ask something like, "Te gusta ir arriba, por favor, por trenta?" [Would you like to go up, please, for 30?] Which is a low-ball offer, but, since I generally have gotten ready acceptance of 40, I figure, why not try to see how little they will go up for. $50 is the max, generally, tho, I'd be willing to go as high as 60 or even more, for a really hot number, such as Ucari (no posts on her, before this one, and she is no longer there).

I don't get the chance to do many all-nighters. When I do, it is usually with someone I have been with for a short-time. I do sometimes take a woman up for a short-time (30 minutes), and rent a room for the night, at Rizo de Oro, TB's hotel. If I like her, I'll offer, say, $80, including the initial price for the 30 minute session. Usually, $100 is what it takes.

Or, I may say at the outset, $30 for 30 minutes, $80 for all night.

I've only used the advice of a waiter once as to who to take up. Actually, it was excellent advice; it led to several sessions with a woman I probably would not have gone up with, otherwise. Generally, tho, I've not been able to find waiters who even claim to have recommendations!

Naturally, tip after coming downstairs, IF the advice was good.

Different hotels are certainly a possibility, particularly with women who know you from (a)previous session(s).

Another thing I like about this bar, is the chance to do real dates with some of the women. This may be nothing more than going to the little taco stand near the door of TB, or the little market/kitchen just to the east of the bar. It may be as far afield as the restaurant on the south side of CC or the Chinese joint on the north side of Articulos 123, 'tween Con. and Ninos Heroes (bigger portions, lower prices, than the closer Chinese place south of Kinkle). I've done this with women, with no discussion beforehand about taking them upstairs.

Two or three times in the past year, I've taken women from TB, admittedly whom I had taken upstairs - tho, only once - to a restaurant (Lucerne)in the Zona Rio and a movie (Cinepolis, in Plaza Rio), or to a restaurant in the Playas (beach) area of Tijuana (Boomerang). In both cases, they showed up on time for the dates, which were arranged for times when they did not usually work.

I screwed around with sidewalk senoritas (SG's) for three years, and women from AB and CC for two years, before going to TB for the past year. I did not get most of these bonuses elsewhere.

These are some of the things I like about TB. And, as has been essentially said before in some posts above, GFE sex is much more common here than at AB/CC/SG.

So, the idea that you must have the fortune, Spanish ability, and good looks of a Sinalese narcotraficante to score with these babes is just not true - as one can see, from reading my post, and from seeing me!

At the same time, I can not especially recommend TB to the neophyte monger. Aside from the language issue, which is not insurmountable even to those with essentially no Spanish, there is the fact that most, when initially coming to La Zona, want to screw BIG TITTED BABES. Those are rare in TB.

To those who looked for, and could not find, my post about the party I threw on 12/19/02 at TB; soon after you log on to this site, you come to a screen saying, "FIRST ANNUAL HOMBRE AWARDS 2001". Below that, on the same page, is "Discus Discussion" and below that, still on the same screen, is "All Tijuana Topics". Click on this, then on "Tijuana Events".

That is the main location of postings on Tijuana parties, etc. It took me a long time to track it down, after Hombre posted it there. I had e-mailed him the post, as it was a long one, and I wanted to make sure it was ok with him. Also, I sometimes have trouble getting sort of bumped off, if I post a long note.

I've never taken advantage of these, but need to. Such dance lessons opportunities are probably much the same in the rest of the Southwestern U.S.

The Playboy Club, or a bar next to it, on the north side of Calle Coahuila, west of Niños Heroes, typically has much more elaborate dancing than what is usually done at TB. Fun to watch, and humbling.

But, to really get me worked up, I like watching a hot-looking woman who is expert at the tango. Owwww!
