I was in this club last Cinco De Mayo. I think its called Playboy club but did not see a sign on the outside of the building. It's located on Coahuilla, a 1/4 block East of the Manhattan Bar. Very Mexican oriented but I couldn't resist the drink prices (180 pesos for 2X1). The quality was so-so but there was a lot of quantity. There was girl after girl on two separate dance floors. I have seen several girls from other clubs working in Playboy now for what ever reason. I want to hear if somebody has gotten a chica(s) upstairs from this place, and if they went back to cascadas. I've never tried.

The typical way to determine if chicas go to the hotel is to find out if the bar has an attached hotel. If not, then management typically discourages chicas from leaving the bar.

Tomas and Diego, that is the best way to do it. It only works if your willing to take no for an answer. The one advantage of having the clubs close at 3am, is that you could pick-up girls at the time they were ending thier shift. I've done this 3 times in the past few months, and evertime the girl stayed with me until it was check-out time. If she agrees to go to your room, and no price was mentioned, then she might not ask you for anything. Some of these girls are not as "professional" as others. They might be embarrassed to ask for the money. That may sound silly, but believe me it can happen.

Actually that's not made up Bajaboy. Read any book on negotiations or sales and they pretty much all say the first one to mention a number (price) is the loser.

I've been in there a few times. Bought a few beers for a dancer (daytime) named Anna. She told me she does go to the hotel, although I haven't tried her yet.

There are a few gringos that go in there so I suspect that any of the girls would quote a gringo price as an operner. But, as pointed out above, the vast majority of the clientel aren't paying gringo prices, so there should be a lot of room to bargain. My preference would be to open the negotiations with a low ball figure (the WF $20 offer) to set the stage in the right range.

I'm sure there are negotiation rules to go by. It's just that I go to have a good time. What ever happens, happens. I doubt most of these girls know any of the rules. Some girls do have a good business sense about them, but most, especially in the smaller bars, don't know anything about that. I have offered bar girls $30 to go to the room. Most usually laugh, but there had been few that take it, and none were ever offended.

I think that some of the "chica" bartenders might even go to the hotel in this place. I did see a few girls leave with other customers but didn't bother to time them to see how long they were gone. Oh, and someone mentioned earlier that a hotel nearby, or next door, is a good sign to indicate if mgmt encourages the girls to go to the hotel: I believe there is one just a couple doors down. If the girls do go to the hotel I can't imagine the local Mexs paying top dollar for them... most of the guys I saw in here didn't look like they had much to spend... (prog)

Well, normally I really enjoy this place. Last night was an exception. A girl stopped in front of our table and asked us if we wanted to dance with her. One time, about two years ago, I was in Pollo Bar at about 11pm, with some fairly "normal" chick who I'd just bought a drink for. She seemed kind of out-of-place in the bar. She was older for a bar girl - especially a Pollo Bar girl(about 32, I'd say). I think she said she was from Guatamala. Anyway, all of a sudden, some guy comes storming in the place and grabs her by the arm, says something to her, and drags her out of the place... Boom, it was over, just like that.

I think some chicks DO work in the ZN without their husbands knowing... but most of them probably just work for fichas.

BTW, gents - Playboy Club is starting to look like a pretty decent place.

Outside of AB & CC, the ZN is a constantly changing place, and you have to continually try out new bars... you see, the problem is that there are only a certain number of non-AB/CC chicks to go around amongst the little bars... and these chicks are always looking for a "better deal"... so YOU have to do the same, and find out which bar is the better deal for you.

El Pollo, Tejano, Valentina, Amor Latino, Manhattan, and Pelicano have all risen and fallen from my #1 rated ZN bar list... there are some other contenders worth checking out on occasion(Las Chavelas, Miami, HongKong, Hacienda, Tropical), but none of them, at least as far as I'm concerned, have hit #1(but things could always change). Also, there is a "third tier" of bars that are worth a laugh, or have some kind of unique wierdness to them that might be worth checking out on occassion, but will keep them from ever hitting #1(La Tropa, Odisea 2000, Zacazaropan, Redaccion, Charrita, New York, El Reventon,... the old Molino Rojo fit here too, and now so does Pelicano and El Pollo)... then there are the COMPLETE dive/gay/drug bars... which I can't name off the top of my head(pretty much any bar I haven't mentioned yet fits in this category).

Playboy Club is a real up-and-comer - it isn't anything like the dive it replaced. It has a unique style, and these guys are managing to steal away a lot of the chicks from the other bars... One of the big pluses or this place is that it is always crowded these days, so it gives it a good "party atmosphere".

La Hacienda is also showing signs of life.

Also, this bar gets interesting because the line between working-girl and non-working girl gets blurred...the chica that I like in there isn't a fichera exactly, but her sister is and she just likes to come-in and hang-out and dance...

This has become one of my favorite bars. I wander in there on Christmas eve (well, it was about 1:30am so technically it was Christmas) and the place was hopping!! I was greeted by the site of all the strippers flooding the dance floor looking for tips. Eventually they all came out and earned their dollar tip from me.

I ended up sharing a table with a local that used to live in Santa Ana. His english was not helped by the massive quantities of alcohol he drank, but we were able to communicate.

They sometimes ask for $10 or $20. The girl can argue it if she wants. Many of these girls float between bars and if you don't want to pay it arrange to meet her outside of the bar. Unless she is a dancer there then she may have an obligation to stay.

Oftentimes I get one offer during the day, but when they are ready to leave (and business has been bad) they will happily take your dollars (with a more reasonable number after the "$") instead of going home with an empty purse.

Unforgiven: No, you're not correct. The $10-20 figure refers to the barfine...$$$ paid to the bar mgr/doorman to let the girl leave with a customer before her shift is over. You will still have to negotiate for the girl's time as well...unless you are like some of the Prince Charmings here that get nothing but freebies.
