I was warned. Tijuana does not have Rio quality. So I braced myself for the worst, kept my expectations pretty low. I have to say, it was better then my expectations.

For someone living in San Diego, to get the best of both worlds, being able to have both
pluses of US civilisation (good paying job, cheap quality shopping opportunities, good schools, good medical services, efficient government, ability to live in houses without barbed wires and iron bars at all windows)
some reasonably priced outlet to get his rocks off with just an hour's travel (hell, in Rio's traffic it can take longer then that to get to some termas and red light zones)

WHERE TO GO

My first concern: where to go, what places to attend was solved pretty easily. All the normal tourist entertainment is basically in one city block (with very few places being in adjacent city blocks).

So getting into a taxi, offering US$ 5 (does anyone know how much a Mexican would pay for the same ride?) and asking for Adelita's bar (CH Link) is all you need to know. Then just walk around the block and check out the bars and the street girls (CH Link), that are mainly in the street behind Adelita's (you can take the shortcut through Hong Kong Bar (CH Link), the back exit goes to the Alley with the street girls)

I am a daytime person, so I could not check out Chicago (CH Link) and other places that work only at night. Thankfully, some street girls claim they start working at 8 am, and at least at 2 pm when I used to check things out, there were enough activities on the streets, in Hong Kong bar, in Adelitas, and in a few more doubtful venues that did not make good first impressions.

I am known for my infamous "boob check". I don't like to hire a girl without having done a close inspection if her boobs are hard and perfect. One could of course, inspect a stripper in a bar.

Even better, I enjoyed the private dances in Hong Kong bar. Or US$ 7 lady's drink I saw people getting a private grind right in the bar. There is one opposite to Adelitas. It was empty durning daytime, but they could call girls (they did not say they would call them from the other mermaid branches). Then we went to what seems to be the main branch ($ 2.50 for the taxi or a 8 block walk). Not sure if you tell the taxi where you are going, if that gets prices up.

They had 10 girls, in plain daytime, several of them looked quite decent.. Picked a real cute one, one to chat with, she said she works from 9 to 5 (perfect timing for me, except it was already 4, she was ready to leave). Really cute girl. The room (with massage) was $ 50 (or maybe 40). The girl wanted $120. I was not quite prepared for this, so I skipped. Now if I were not on vacation from Rio but rather living in San Diego, I would have considered this a good deal. About the same price as a 1 hour session in a Rio termas.

The girls looked a bit better then in the Zona bars. If you look at the web site (or at the calender you can get at the bar), they have some amazing materia. At 5 pm I found only one that looked like calendar material. Bought a drink, even went for a private dance (US $ 20 or 40 or 60 is available).

GENERAL COMMENTS

FOOD
I love "fresh mexican food" restaurants in California. The ones that say "no lard, and we don't even own a can opener". The original mexican version, unfortunately, is full of fried stuff, grease and lard, and a bit overcooked. Decent but I don't think it is great.
I ended up eating chinese in the zona. Now I am into healthy natural food, if you eat McDonald's hamburger and fries, then the mexican food is probably healthier then your usual staple.

GIRLS
I am quite picky, in Rio most girls at Help and at the Termas don't pass my freshness and youngness test. So take this with a grain of salt.
In my humble opinion, most girls in Mexican bars or in the street are plain ugly: fat bellies, small droopy tits, mediocre full moon faces. But a few are really cute.
Now, interestingly, a guide told me that some fairly decent girls have been around for 3-6 years and don't age much. That probably means that a regular San Diego or Tijuana resident will not have enough variety.

Street girls all quoted $20, but then added US$ 10 for sin roupa, and another US$ 10 for blow job. Some would not, or barely, budge below that US$ 40 limit. Maybe to 35 or 30 as the absolute minimum I have seen with bj and without clothes. Note that I only picked the real cuties. Does someone have better experiences?

I also made it a point to only go to a hotel with shower. Cannot imagine doing the deed and not having water to wash off afterwards.

COMPARISON WITH BRAZIL (RIO DE JANEIRO)

The street girls in TJ are a bit similar to the the numerous US$ 7 to US$ 20 cheap apartments in Rio. I like the apartments but think Vila Mimosa is too rough and dirty (even in TJ there is no stench of piss on the street and I haven't seen cum and used condoms on the floor). The apartments are a little bit harder to find as they are a bit spread out. There also lots of girls are ugly but cuties can be found. This is a great myth about TJ. It isn't that it isn't good for newbies - I mean if you're 20 and live in SD, you can't ask for more then traveling a few minutes south to sex up supple young latinas for $20-60 per. But the point is, TJ is better for veteran experts (not ALL vets), particularly those who have developed conversational spanish. Quality GFE requires work, game or extravagant overpaying in TJ. The experts learn how to push the right buttons and veterans are more likely to have the money to overpay if they don't know how to push the buttons. Young newbies are happy to have sex with old socks in their crappy apartments so yeah, they are happy in TJ too. Old newbies in TJ, or veterans who never learned to speak spanish and still rely on AB for their action have bad times - or at least they don't know how much better it could be.

When you appear clueless in TJ you will be taken by everybody at every opportunity.

Bottom line is that TJ is awesome for ambitious experts who hunt carefully and work for quality - and pretty sad for everybody else except for young newbies who see it as an upgrade from further soiling their laundry.

You did a post not too long ago indicating that you are somehow under the impression that TJ vets limit their diets to wandering into AB and selecting Tania or some other classic dishes. I laughed when I read that until I almost spit up my pancakes.

Passion and sex have finite limits - they don't expand like the universe. I can only compare my experiences in TJ to a lifetime of experiences with assorted "real world" lovers, if not hookers around the world. I believe I have bumped against the outer limits of passion and pleasure and pure enjoyment in the company of a woman (who one has no serious commitments and obligations to and writes no alimony/support checks to). Is your hand/eye coordination tested and sharpened? Do you learn anything that you can use back home?

I absolutely do want to travel and thought for sure that it would happen this year, but I've been foiled by one circumstance after another. I want to see the world to see the world, and I want to experience women who are not mexicana or gringa or chicana or asian-american. It's not Catacony's writing of the shortcomings of TJ's offerings that diminishes the experience, it is the very nature of the experience itself.

The p4p experience is always enhanced by effort. In Rio one will have a much better experience if he learns Portuguese, familiarizes himself with Brazilian and Carioca culture, learns the ins and outs of the p4p scene, etc.

As one who began his p4p life in TJ, I recall thinking that I was experiencing something special. Twenty years and more than twenty countries later, I find TJ listed at the bottom. Unlike BrasilSpecialist, I now find nothing of interest in TJ. When home in SoCal I'm not even remotely tempted by the possible 90 minute drive to the border. I know I'll be back in Brazil or Thailand or somewhere else in a few months.

What would I feel, though, if I were stuck in SoCal and couldn't get out of the country? I can't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure I would never again develop a longing for TJ. Those days are permanently in the rearview mirror.

Not that I haven't had fun in TJ in the past, but my main point is that the most passionate TJ defenders are almost 100% guys who haven't been anywhere else. Ok, maybe they've hit some other Mexican towns, but point is that you guys know one venue, and I don't really care how well you know it.

Without other places to personally compare it to, you're not really an expert on anything really. I do know Tanya and have had a couple of sessions with her over the years. Yes, her service level is where it should be. However, she's pushing 50 years old at this point and I think it says a lot about TJ that the best service probably is with a 50 year old unit. There is no reason comparing Tijuana and a place like Rio de Janeiro. Statistical probability is heavily against TJ. TJ is an absolute armpit of North America. If I was a good-looking mexican girl I absolutely wouldn't want to be there -- it would be Mexico City or Monterrey. Ask how many chicas are from TJ--mostly none. Ask how many Rio garotas--almost all. There is a reason for this.

Rio dice= 1/5 * 1/5 = 1/25 = 4% * 5 girls = 20%

Just using 2 basic criterias of looks and performance, you can see that you have 20x more chance of finding something better in Rio. Add additional criteria like body, style, dress, etc. You can see how you can begin to get exponentially derivation from a Brasilian girl and a Mexican girl.

It is no wonder that Rio "experts" have 5 girls at the same time, where TJ "experts" are lucky to have 1 or still searching for 1 girl.

TJ blows, especially compared to Rio. I live in Rio and at times travel to the US for business. At times I stay in San Diego and of course head across the border. Almost always I am disappointed, but there have been a few exceptions. But then again, if you live in SD or close by then TJ certainly is a great place to pop a nut! It certainly does not compare to any of the major spots - Rio or Thailand, but then again if you live in the US - especially Southern California - it does not take a ton of money to travel there...just slip across the border and later in the night go home in the US to your honey. Actually quite a good deal in that context. But....just to travel to TJ for sex, forget it! I have been to TJ & Nuevo Laredo/Boystown many times, but that was when I was within a couple of hundreds of dollar in travel expenses from there. But to you guys living in San Diego what a great deal! As BS mentioned, work & live in a nice place (SD), but yet have access to a quick ride across the border to TJ. That is quite a good deal - ok, maybe you will not get the consistency you get in Rio (by any stretch of imagination) but hell it does not cost thousands of dollars to travel there either.

I am conflicted :-) While the overall service of the girls usually sucks, it is fun hanging out in the bars in TJ, i.e. Hong Kong! The difference is that I usually just try to pop a nut in TJ versus truly fucking in Rio. In TJ the girls clearly show that you are customer, versus Rio where you get some truly fantastic sessions that make you believe all the bullshit the girls tell you.

Can you imagine if Brazil and Rio bordered the US? The Brazilian government - not the US - would be putting up a fence and the divorce rate in Southern California would approach 90% :-)
