Easy to tell between the working girls and the amateurs, the working girls will make eye contact and will respond to the slightest overture. Negotiations are open and easy and no one seems offended by any suggestions.

This is a very happening spot where you can meet many beautiful Asian women that you can have a very enjoyable Asian GFE with. There are hotel restrictions in VN but short-term hotels are plentiful and cheap ($6 - 10 us). Prices for the girls range from $20.00 – 50.00 us – you may be asked for more but this is the range it usually ends up at. I am told there are $100.00 woman, but I would be amazed at how outstanding they must be to command those prices when there is such exceptional talent for much cheaper fees. It is important to be clear about length of time expected. These prices were for the night, first told for 2 hours but negotiations ending for the night. There are numerous taxis or hilos out front to take you where you want to go. Hotels are very safe. There are other escort bars on same road although I never went into any, always found what I want in AN.

There is scant to no information on the scene in Vietnam, it would be nice for you to write a short guide on Saigon..hotels, visas, food etc and of course girls....a trip report would be nice also. All information on areas not covered is greatly appreciated on this board.

for more bang for your buck Vietnam especially Saigon(Ho Chi Minh City) is the best place to go. This one hotel call Hoang Nhat have album of girls to choose from but i suspect the girls are print add models. But from my experience even though the girl migh not be the girl from the album the quality of girls are very good. I am very picky and these girls did not disapoint. The hotel is loacted in 18 Bui Vien ST. Dist 1.
Another hotel that allow girls up to your room is located near by call Phi Long on 38 Bui Vien ST. It is also cheaper costing 10 bucks for all night.
Another place you can get action in Saigon is a beauty place that is a front for escort. You need to go in and ask for a facial massage so they can feel comfortable with you and than ask to see the selection of girls sitting in the back. Once you nogotiate the girls take you to a near by hotel. The place is call Toc May located on 48 Nuyen Cu Trin near Motropole Hotel.

Just an update;

While Toc May was filled with beauties:
-I got a bady needed "excellent" haircut;
-Wonderful 1/2 hour shampoo and head neck massage;
-1/2 hour facial and more head/neck massage;
-Nail trim;
-1 hour full body massage (with clothes on);

All for the incredibly cheap price of $6.25 (100K Dong). At various points along the way, I inquired about other services, ST on premise, LT take out, private massage in local hotel. I was told they do not meet clients privately, do not go out with clients, do not offer private massage. They are only a salon (BTW-This is a salon for men and you will be well attended by a bevy of gorgeous girls). One even talked me out of a necklace I had from Brasil. She giggled with glee when she found out it cost approx 50,000 dong (whopping $3.00). What made it more special is when I (or her friend told her), it was the only one of its kind in all of Vietnam....! She was beside herself with pride, hugged me and started rubbing my shoulders and arms.

Maybe they just did not feel "comfortable" with me or because I am not asian, they feared problems with the police. I even found the girls at AN and Volcano scared shitless to go with me in public. They wanted to meet me someplace and knew they could not go to my room with me.

The massage at Tan Binh hotel was very well done and I got a happy finish BJ for about $25. Most taxis that suggested Boom Boom tried to take me here first. BTW-It is on the 7th floor, not the 6th but thanks for the information on this place.

Never made it to Hoang Nhat but I am sure it is as described.

One taxi tried to take be to a place that was an uncompleted building that looked like it had been abandoned during construction. Had about 10 floors of poured concrete but no interior walls or completed roof. Looked like people had just squatted there and put up wooden, cardboard and metal separators on various floors. The roof had more TV antennas than any building I have ever seen. At least 100 or more of them. Supposedly, there was a brothel on the 5th floor but I had no desire to climb the stairs and had grave reservations about going in so I declined.

You are right. The police are everywhere and keep a very close eye on foreigners even thought the city is full of them for TET. many people bringing their Viet spouses home for the holidays.

An interesting experience but like you, I cannot recommend HCMC as a mongering destination. Reminds me of another repressive socialist island closer to the USA where Spanish is the predominant language. The big difference is that capitalism is alive and well in HCMC. Stores full of merchandise, people looking well fed, nice clothes, have transportation, 5 star hotels, to 2 star accommodations, car dealerships doing a brisk business and the Mercedes and Lexus dealerships had many patrons test driving cars. Thousands upon thousands of motor bikes that somehow weave in and out of traffic to their destinations.(pure traffic chaos)

Restaurants everywhere serving almost any cuisine imaginable. Side note: KFC was the only FF restaurant I saw while I was there. Others may exist but I didn't see a MacD anywhere. That is a first!

Did try the New World Hotel as suggested by SAD. Went to the suggested floor and no one, nothing there! Asked 2 different bellmen and both expressed shock that I was even asking. "This nice family hotel. No boom boom here. Outside" was the answers I got. Must have closed down or is even more secret than reported.

Oh well, fun adventure and the pre TET festivities, decorations and vibrance of the season made for an interesting visit.

Heading back to Saigon next month for the first time in 4 yrs. Any major changes to Apocalypse Now or any new clubs/bars I should check out. How's the motorbike girl street scene?

maybe it is me but this place didn't do it. my friend and i walked here from our hotel, it is right on the map in the lonely planet guide that my friend bought (i don't use that, i prefer club hombre). in any case, the guide came in handy at this point. there was no need for a taxi if your on or near dong khoi. don't think the walk took five minutes and the street configuration was not confusing. the inside was fairly full but the patio area was empty. honestly i thought i had left vietnam once i was inside.

i'm sure i was there too early (midnight) and i'm sure i went in with high expectations. but the place was full of middle age western women (and fat ones at that). i had to look pretty hard to find the hookers and i didn't like it.

if you feel like going there, go to the intersection of dong du and thi sach and hang a right (thi sach is just beyond hai ba trung). you'll see a green building on the left with some security guys out front.
