Vietnam is not a place you want to go specifically for whoring around. But if you happen to be there on a layover or a business trip, entertainment can be found.

There's a place connected (not inside) to the New World Hotel called "The Catwalk". It’s a nice bar and usually has a live band. This is a high-end place and you will not see locals in there. The girls in there were some of Saigon's finest in my opinion. They actually work there and are not freelance.

When you walk in you get seated at a table. Then a lady comes by and asks if you want to see the line up of girls to accompany you. If yes, she brings by the lineup and you choose one you like and she sits with you for a while so you can decide if you want to make a deal. If you don't like her you usually pay a $20 tip that is basically for her and the "mamasan" lady, and send her off.

These girls usually only do short time for around $100US and around $150 for all night. I know that’s high, but these girls are really hot. Some of the girls I saw could have easily been models.

Apocalypse Now is a popular disco that's worth checking out. Most cab drivers can get you there, but they won't understand what you are saying if you pronounce it the English way. They pronounce it (eea-Pok-Koe-Lip)
They close at 1:00 AM, strictly enforced by the police. I don't know the exact address for Apocalypse but it's near:

Speaking of which, connected to the Renaissance Riverside hotel is a bar called Club Royale
1 Ngo Duc Ke St, Dist 1, HCMC . It's the same setup as Catwalk, but the girls aren’t as hot.

Another club called Gossip is even better than Apocalypse in my opinion. It has very loud techno music and is a discoteque setup sort of like Help (Apocalypse is similar setup too) . It has some very nice young ladies. It closes at 1am too. Address: 79 Tran Hung Dao, District 1, HCM

Another new club is upstairs inside the Palace Hotel. It’s more like a big bar with different sections instead of a club with big dance floor. The downstairs is a smaller version of the upstairs club so that when the upstairs is packed and they're not letting anymore people in, you can go downstairs as an option. They manage to stay open until 2-3am (probably paying off the police). I’m not sure about the address.

Near the New World is called Alley Boo. This is another small bar that’s popular with Australians and Europeans, but it has a lot of working girls. After Gossip closes at 1am, many of the girls there that didn't hook up with anyone will go hang out at Alley Boo to try again. Average all-nighter about $50.

There used to be a nice street scene. Basically you would walk around the streets (especially around New World hotel) and tons of girls riding on the back of motorbikes would pull up to ask if you want short time. Of course, this was where you had to have your guard up, but you could get some real bargains this way. I remember having a 19 yr old with a tight little body for $15.

However, now the street scene is virtually dead. It’s all part of the city clean up project I guess. When I was there in May, I didn't see one girl on a bike looking for customers, nor did I get approached the entire trip.

Then there are the secret places. These are the places you need local help to get to because they are running under stealth. This usually happens by some dude riding up to you on a motorbike asking if they can take you to one of these places. Again, caution is needed, and it’s not something you should do alone or if you don’t speak some of the language, but to put it in perspective, you can usually knock most of these guys over with a feather. If all else fails, jump off the bike. It's best to have a local with you as I did.

Anyway, they will actually give you a ride over there. They will expect a small tip. These are usually the massage places with a handjob or bj finish, and some of the haircut places with a blow job afterwards. That’s still funny to me. It gives new meaning to the phrase “cut and blow”.

At night there are these little discrete bars that stay open until 1am, but after that, if they still have customers, they turn out the lights and close the doors to fool the cops, but they're really still open. These places are hit or miss. To me, they are a waste of money, but they can be fun if you are a free spender and have friends with you.

The way these bars work typically is that you get a table, then a few girls come over to sit with you. Then they all start ordering drinks and they drink them like they just ran a marathon without an ounce of water. That's their job, milk you for more drinks. You just have to be firm and tell them to take a few breaths in between gulps.

There's usually a pool table or two, some tv's etc. Mainly you're just there to drink with the girls, but there's tons of groping. They'll sit on you, rub you up and down, and grab your unit. You can also make deals with girls in there to leave with you, but it's hit or miss, and not all of them will do the sex thing. As I said, it’s basically a waste of money.

Again, Vietnam is not Rio, Pataya, or AC. I would never go there instead of any of those destinations.

Whoaaa what a reply! I was expecting a few pointers if anyone replied at all since there's not really much action in Vietnam from this board, but you almost gave me a trip report.

I've done Apocalypse which was good but I'll look forward to trying your other suggestions...well with the exception of the so called "secret" places. I'll be there on business so I'm not sure I want to venture as far as hopping on some dudes motorbike and letting him take me to God knows where. It's so funny you mention the pronunciation for Apocalypse because I remember that's exactly what happened to me. I must have asked 5 different taxi's if they knew where it was and not one knew what I was talking about. I started getting frustrated thinking how the fuck do you not know where one of biggest discos is if you're a cab driver in this city. Finally one cab driver just drove me around to different places he knew of and we stumbled across it. I will test your pronunciation and see how it goes this time. I have funny feeling the first cab driver will know where it's at after I say it like that.

Well that's a little disappointing to hear the street scene is gone now. However, it will be good for the city. I've had a few little spinners that way, very cheap too. Many of them were not hardened pros but were new to the trade, coming from the country side into the city to make money for the family back home much like Thailand and elsewhere.

I agree, Vietnam doesn't hold much weight to places like Thailand or Brasil but since it's a business trip, you gotta work with what you got. Putting things in perspective though, if you compare paying $150US for an all nighter with a Model type girl you mentioned from the Catwalk, that's comprable to dishing out $300R-350R to have an all nighter with a stunner at Help in Rio at the current exchange rate. Of course the Vietnamese will most likely not rock your world like a Garota but that can be hit or miss too.

SmallAsianDick, I went there 3 nights after midnight and took a girl out of there each night. As you know, it's not like a club with tons of working girls and I wouldn't label it as a hot spot to pick up a chic, but it is an option to find a girl when some clubs have closed for the night, but it has to be late. I said above "it has a lot of working girls" but I should have been more clear that only after clubs like Gossip close.

Again, it's mostly tourists in there except the girls, but there are definitely working girls later at night. My dick and wallet can verify it. I wish I had some photos to post now that I see I have a trip report. (All the profile nazis can suck my balls now)

Each night I was in there, I was approached by girls. All you have to do is sit there and drink and they will come around. You have to hang in there late though. It's sort of like Terraco in Rio, but on a smaller scale, in that you can have dinner if you are so inclined, then hang out late until the girls start to come out (like vampires).

My buddy and I spent about a week in Ho Chi Minh in August this year. Admittedly, I didn't know about Club Hombre back then (wish I did) and, because of the limited info on where to go, only went to some of the bars mentioned above (was a little tired from our mongering in Thailand anyway). However, we did find one that was not mentioned. Its called Rain Forest. I can't remember the street its on, but its pretty close to the hotels in the main quarter. Anyway, the women there are absolutely stunning - im my opinion, model caliber in some cases. The caveat is that the place caters to Vietnamese men, which left us white boys at an apparent disadvantage. But the ladies were hot enough that we made repeat trips there and figured a few things out. First of all, the woman are available to non-vietnamese, but most of them speak no English, and I mean no English, which probably explains why they mostly cater to Vietnamese. I have pretty good language skills, but nonetheless, Vietnamese is difficult for me (especially since I had just been to Thailand, and Thai words kept popping out instead). What we had going for us was that we had gotten to know our waitress, who happened to speak some English, and developed a pretty good relationship with her. BTW, I believe that she and the other waitresses were also available, but we didn't partake. We ended up at a table with several of these hot women and I ended up with a 20 year old that night, one of the hottest women I've ever been with. My word of caution is that this place will require a bit more work than a normal mongering hangout and YMMV, but it was worth it for us.
