Located on Soi 4 off of Sukhumvit. I will probably only stay here from now on.
Cost 1800 baht per night for 1 bedroom condo.
Young men in mock military outfits salute you and your date at the door. Lobby contains small store, internet cafe, beauty salon and travel agent. Need security card to access elevator (prevents bar girls from attempting to surprise you) No need to pay guest charges as it is not a hotel yet it cotains all amenities of hotel except restaurant. Room service exists and is cheap but limited.
Condo contains small kitchen with microwave, stove and fridge. Living room has several chairs and a large couch with t.v. Bathroom is huge and modern. Walk in closet with in-room safe. Bedroom has a couch and a large queen/king size bed with dresser and t.v. This place could confortably hold a large party and costs a little more than other hotels in the area. Excellent view of the skyline of Bangkok.

Blazers,
How far of a walk up Soi 4 is it to get to Nanaplaza? I am debating whether or not I want to stay at the Grand President again or check this place out. From the map I have it looks like Omni Tower is just a short walk down the street from Nana, but maps can be deceiving and there is no key.
Did you stay in their 1 bedroom standard or superior?

It's about a 3-5 minute walk to Nana Plaza. I chose the one bedroom suite. I checked out the Grand President and Omni has much nicer facilities. The rooms are beautiful. Your chicks will be impressed. Nice view too.

Anybody have a link for this place ? I have done some internet searches and am only able to find it thru booking agencies. I assume it is better to contact them directly. Also, when you guys book a hotel in Thailand, do you reserve for one or two persons ?

The above site states a daily rate for a one bedroom condo of THB 2700, considerably higher than the 1800 that Blazers obtained. Is this attributable to seasonal fluctuations and/or a need to bargain a little ?
I have written them an e-mail with the later in mind.
By Xenono on Sunday, May 19, 2002 - 07:55 pm: Edit |
If you sign up with them online they list a promotional rate of 1900 baht for the one bedroom. They say that rate is good only through July though.
I am debating whether or not I will stay at Omni or at the Grand President when I go again in September.
The Grand President is centrally located on Soi 11. You have Cowboy and Clinton to the east and Nana Plaza to the west. I liked it.
Omni Tower is right down the street from Nana on Soi 4.
The Nana SkyTrain station is also just a short walk from the Grand President.

I have seen good reviews of the Grand President at other sites. I checked their site though and the rates looked higher than the Omni.

The Omni comes highly reccommended by everyone I've talked to - the Brits at our BKK office swear by it. My problem with the Omni is that I've NEVER been able to get a booking online, no matter when I've tried. How the hell far in advance do you have to book there? Seems like 6 mos at least!
The Grand Pres was ok, but I wish it was a little closer to Sukhumvit (although there is a nice shortcut from there to the New Phetburi massage parlors if you go on foot).
I've got a deluxe (1700 baht/night) room reserved at Majestic next week. This is my first time actually staying there, so I'll let you know what that 1700 baht buys when I get there.

The Omni is THE place to stay in BKK. However, e-mail is the way to go to book the room. Not the web site, and short stays can be an issue with them. Remember, this place is a 'residence serviced apartment' not a hotel in the traditional manner. Don't let the 'rack rate' on the web page scare you, deals are available. But, the 'better' deals are for 'longer' stays.
I personally think the Omni is the best place to stay for a week or better, but for your 'short' three day stay, the Majestic or Dynasty might be better.

They got back in less than 24 hours from an e-mail I sent. The offer was for 2,000 baht per night for a one bedroom suite for a 3 night stay. Sounds reasonable to me given the short stay, in season, reputation of the place. I am probably going to pull the trigger on it pretty quick.

That's still less than $50 per night for very nice digs. I'd jump on it.

talked with another monger who stayed there in the past and liked it alot. He said it was guest friendly and" when the girls saw his room they wanted more then was agreed on" ...figures!

How far is the OMNI from NEP? Is it a 5 minute walk or longer?
Does the OMNI have any restaurants?
Thanks.
By Laguy on Thursday, June 20, 2002 - 11:21 pm: Edit |
The Omni may be a bit longer than 5 minutes from NEP, although not more than a ten minute walk; depends on how fast you walk. There is a restaurant and a snack shop, as well as a small mini grocery store on the premises. If memory serves me right, the prices int he grocery store were quite reasonable compared to some larger grocery stores in the general neighborhood.

That snack-shop is also an internet cafe. Besides what you mentioned there is also a hair salon and a couple other shops.

Again, thanks guys for helping a BKK newbie. It's hotel decision time, and I'm leaning on taking the Omni Suites 4 night "Business in Style" package for 8400 baht (1 bedroom suite). This includes airport transfer, breakfast for two and whatever. This seems to be a decent price, or is it? Is the airport transfer reliable?
4 nights? I know it's crazy, but a true mileage run would be for 1 night (and for a much cheaper fare too). Instead of 1 8-10 night trip, I've decided to do 2 four night trips -- for the sake of mileage.

Soccer: It is possible you could get a better rate at the Omni if you just asked for the TSM discount, TSM being another board like this one (they never check to see whether you are really a member). As to the airport transfer, in my limited experience it is reliable, and while taxis are less expensive, having someone waiting for you at the airport is helpful to a newbie.

I just stayed at the Omni Tower this past week. Never a problem bringing girls in, at least not one at a time. I'd guesstimate the walk at 5 minutes or less to NEP. And it's straight down Soi 4 (Soi Nana), headed away from Sukhomvit. Usually easy to catch taxis right across the street from Omni too (or they'll get you one if none are around). They also have DVD/CD/VCD players for rent, which they come hook up for you.

Just wanted to add my opinion... stayed at Omni for 5 nights March 3-8 then again from 13-15.
Booked online after joining their "member" club.
Rate averaged 1800Baht per night included roundtrip airport pickup in a nice Volvo, breakfast daily for a studio. Rooms are nice, quiet, roomy, comfortable. Security takes ID's , no problem with more than 1 girl. Very accomodating staff. Needed towels at 3AM, no problem, tuk tuk ride to the Dynasty to get my Pattaya shuttle, no problem, check a suitcase for a few days, no problem. I really liked this place, as did the chicas. To me to be a few blocks away from the action was good, so the peace was there when it was needed.

Stayed there 1st night in town. Booked through asiatravel.com at rate of 2039 per night. Room had Lan port which was active, but overall I was a little dissapointed in the place. Guess I was expecting something less run down...

I stayed at Omni from January 14th to January 26th 2006. 12 nights at a price of 26137 BHT - I loved the place but found it a bit expensive. They provided me with free breakfast and dinner which was nice. The room itself was good - mine had a couch and a coffe table. The mock military doormen were friendly. I just felt uncomfortable when they carded my guests every night - it is a nice security feature however some guests felt awkward.
Would I stay again? It depends, I could have saved some money and enjoyed myself even more!

I'm currently staying at the Omni Suites. This is my first time at this location. I got an "early bird" Internet special for 1,350 baht per day for a studio which I was pleasantly surprised to find is very LARGE. For the price, this place is unbeatable.
Unlike most nearby hotels, this has a mixture of families, businessmen and single men on holiday from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. There does seem to be a lot of guests from India including a few young and very attractive women.
The features of this place that I like are "non-smoking" rooms with small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, hot water pot, silverware & plates; swimming pool; laundry room; exercise room; free breakfast; TV with lots of channels including HBO, CNN, BBC; girl-friendly; in-room safe. You are suppose to pay for Internet connection, but I've been able to connect to the wi-fi in my room using my iPod Touch without any problem.
I'm off to Pattaya tomorrow for a week then back to the Omni for another four days. I still can't believe I'm only paying 1,350 baht per night for everything that I'm getting!

Omni Tower is mentioned in 2013/08 DonMarco - Quick Visit to BKK
quote:Hotels: Stayed at two new hotels on soi 4 - Heaven@4 and Omni Towers. I consider both budget orientated (1500baht/night), but location is ground zero.
Omni - first room was extremely dated/not somewhere that I would consider staying so I asked to check out early (I had 7 days booked). The staff comped me an upgrade for a 1 bed room suite, which was a far better room. I didn't feel the need to check out early given their attempt and no-fuss approach, but won't opt for this place in the future given the plethora of better choices. On the plus side, decent pool and exercise room.
