Just a brief update/street intel on BKK based on 9 days I was there last week.

Hotels:

Stayed at two new hotels on soi 4 - Heaven@4 (CH Link) and Omni Towers (CH Link). I consider both budget orientated (1500baht/night), but location is ground zero.

Heaven@4 - smaller hotel, solid value for the rooms, functional with decent decor. Not somewhere I would spend extended time, but decent for a night or two.

Omni - first room was extremely dated/not somewhere that I would consider staying so I asked to check out early (I had 7 days booked). The staff comped me an upgrade for a 1 bed room suite, which was a far better room. I didn't feel the need to check out early given their attempt and no-fuss approach, but won't opt for this place in the future given the plethora of better choices. On the plus side, decent pool and exercise room.

Nana: A lot of bars were extremely quiet, not many girls working due to some local nonsense and BiB pressure of late. Top choices: Spanky's (decent lineup/fun) (CH Link), Angel Witch (good for chilling/chatting/shows) (CH Link), Erotica (good lineup/fun girls) (CH Link), Billboard (my primary "party bar") (CH Link). Rainbow 3 (CH Link) was decent for a spinner or two. On the downside, all other one's I typically pop in weren't either dead or poor lineups.

Blow Job bars:

Due to pervasive condom usage, I found myself spending quite a bit of time at BJ bars. Sampled them all on multiple occasions. Re the rating it's relative to one another.

Dr BJ (CH Link), soil 7/1 (just past Edens). 1000 bt. Consistent, but average quality BBBJ, great facilities, convenient location, and on par pricing. Average ranked vs the competition. Rating 1-10 (10 is sperm heaven): 7.

Lólita's (CH Link), soi 8. 800bt. Hasn't really changed at all for good or worse. Rating 1-10 (10 is sperm heaven): 6

Lollipop (CH Link), soi 10. 800bt. Price starts at 800THB. Not as clean, limited lineup, and quality of lineup below Lólita's. Rating 1-10 (10 is sperm heaven): 4

After Skool Bar (CH Link), Soi CB. Didn't actually pull anyone in the DB corner here, but worth poking the head in.

Som's Haven (CH Link), soi 14. Som has been around for quite a few years working at Lólita's and Lollipop before opening her own place. It's only been open several months, small, and not a huge line up, but it was easily the best place for a quality suck and chill place to kick back and shoot the shot some some fun girls. I never looked at my bill, but usually spent a couple hours here several days and the bill rarely exceeded 1000baht. Rating 1-10 (10 is sperm heaven): 8.5

Misc venues notes:

Nana Disco (CH Link) reopened and great fun. A couple hot coyote dancers and business is starting to pick up. Had a lot of fun here after hours and great staff.

Freelancers: Soi 4 small bar quality seemed down a bit, btu freelancers quality on/around Sukhumvit seemed quite good. I only pulled one FL on Sukhumvit, but it was one of the better sessions of the trip sex/value wise. She was pretty hot too boot. It's a first for me as I never bothered with Freelancers in years past.

Dr Nuru's (CH Link), soil 7/1, 2000bt. Right across from Dr BJ and I often checked out the lineup, which is a bit challenged. Found something doable one afternoon and took her for a spin to check the place out. As with Dr BJs, nice facility, service was exactly what I expected and decent change of pace. That said, quality of gals is not nearly on par with some other massage place.

As always - street food = perfect. Plentiful fruit and coconuts = more than perfect.

Great seeing Murasaki on this trip - a man of fine tastes whether it comes to pooying or hotels!

You forgot to mention Addict Massage on soi 24. You said there were 4 girls in there you'd do!

Indeed - I didn't mention Addict Massage, nor the one with the school girl outfits (do you recall the name of that one?), and Soi 22 in general as I didn't really have a chance to sample it.

Based on our initial recon, I'll be booking my next hotel on Soi 22, so that should give some indication as to what I thought about the opportunity

Thanks for the update....there's times when I miss Bangkok....but every time I see a TR like this and take a glance at airfares, keeping my last few trips to Bangkok in mind....the cost to fun ratio doesn't add up.

If I were going to go to other parts of Thailand or Cambodia to revisit the temples of Angkor, then sure a few nights in Bangkok would be in order.

Bigpoppa, I'm the first one to delay trips if the $$$ doesn't make sense (and have on a regular basis), but flights are actually more reasonable now than I've seen in quite some time. From the east coast USA - BKK, econ is running 1200-1400, which ain't bad at all all things considered.

Re the value of bkk, I have historically spent most of my time in LoS in Pattaya, with a few days at the front and backend in bkk. That said, for a short trip like this and while sleep deprived/sleep walking most days, I had a pretty epic time. I didn't intend to portray it as anything else. In fact, quality opportunities were everywhere 24/7. The "fun factor" bkk is hard to beat. Toss in quality housing/food/other things to do and I call it a strong value.

Nana gogos were a little off, so there is 30 hotties to choose from on any given night vs 60 + I don't really pull a lot of ST gogo girls, I prefer LT/mix of venues. The only negative (or positive for some) is the pervasive condom requ I ran into this trip. Fear not, I will have a solid gameplan the next time as I was a bit unprepared for it this time given years of complacency.

Glad you had fun. Yeah $1200-1400 is actually a good price for airfare these days. That's kind of what I was getting at....when airfares under $1000 from most places to BKK were the norm, it didn't make sense not to go.

While you'd almost have to try to not to have fun in BKK, you have the time shift issues shortening your stay, the ass pain of long travel and over $1K spent just getting there....I personally am letting my return to Thailand wait until I can stay for at least 3 weeks in total.

when gas, oil, the USD:THB, etc return to 2002 levels, let me know and I'll share in that applause In the meantime, some exposure to the very commodities that result in increased cost; oil, THD markets, thai baht, and to a lesser degree gold. Thus when prices rise, I'm making more than losing in theory.

Re the length of stay - absolutely agree, 1 is too short, 2 weeks is ok, 3 is nice, and the more the better from there.

The place off soi 22 that had the school girl outfits was I believe BKK Teen 48 massage (CH Link), or something like that. Pink massage (CH Link) next to Mango is also big on the cosplay stuff.

A few more updates: Hollywood Rock is gone, and replaced by Angelwitch 2 (CH Link), which had a "soft" opening this weekend. Dave gave me a pre-opening tour of it Friday night. It's a nice place with a huge amount of seating. If they get the right girls in there, it will be a great venue.

Playskool (CH Link) is currently closed for renovations. They're installing a hot tub.

Lower Erotica (CH Link)is also closed for renovations. They've moved all their girls to upper Erotica for the duration.

Overall Nana girls numbers are currently down by 50% at the moment, due to a number of police raids. The girls get tired of pissing for the police (drug tests) and have been staying away. Things should settle down in the coming weeks.

An initial foray to Patpong last night found some good targets in Electric Blue (CH Link), and King's Castle I (CH Link) and II (CH Link).

Will be hitting the soi 22 beer bars in Queen's Park Plaza in the coming days.

Condom Requests in BKK and Patts has gotten to be the point of being a major deal breaker. The Feminanzi NGOs have some foundation down a ally way on soi 6 iin Pattaya i still believe. Couple the condom requests with the coy new thai bitch attitude, the 31 to 1 baht, new lower end tourist marketing targeting new money russians and arabic tourist who ruin the girls attitude ; I'm still not rushing to get back.

While in bkk I typically always had a much high % of wrapped odds historically, this last trip I was batting nearly 100% covered despite my charming personality and slippery dick. Had my head scratching the whole time.

Condoms aside, I didn't run into any attitudes - in fact girls were great attitude wise, just as good as any trip I've ever been on.

Ditto that. Attitudes have been fine for me. You always encounter one or two crab apples, but plenty of berries to make up for them. I've seen zero Russians and Arabs in the gogos and teen massage joints in Bangkok (can't speak for Pattaya). And the dollar has been hovering around 30 for a number of years now.

I'd also have to say that DM had extraordinary luck in the past here in BKK. Outside of one or two certain venues, my experience here has been one of heavy condom usage, especially in the gogos. So nothing new there for me.
