This is a picture of the Nana Hotel sign.
I don't remember how many times I used this sign as a reference point. I would be taking a taxi and coming back to Sukhumvit area. The first thing I would notice as we got closer was this sign.

As you can see, this place is a dump. Excellent freelancer disco downstairs though.
Dump or not, still cool place.

If for some reason you decide to stay at NANA try to get a room on the top floor. There are balconies that look over the city - down (Soi 3) and it is a great view. I did my barfine on the balconie from behind at about 2:00AM on the last night of one of my trips last year, I got to tell you it was real difficult to get up that morning and catch a plane back to the U.S.

I never did spend a night in this hotel, but I agree with Blazers. I did not care for it too much and thought it was kind of worn down. We came back from Pattaya and needed a place to dump our stuff so we could hit the MP's before our plane departed sometime around 1 or 2 am. We chose the Nana Hotel. The rate was 1000 baht. Dart said he would not mind the place at all given the cheaper rates. When I am on vacation 8000 miles from home, it bothers me not a bit to pay another 500-1000 baht for a nicer room and hotel.
Here is a picture of the interior.

The digital camera was Dart's Olympus D-370.
Here is the address to Olympus' page on the D-370.

Thats (one of)the main cameras I'm considering! I was pretty much going to get an Olympus. Great pics!
Well on the other hand guys, what is much nicer about anywhere else? All I need is a shower, and that big azz bed, and I am set. I dont stay long in my room anyway, so I feel that spending more on a room would be a crime. Money better spent on having two girls in your room, instead of one!
Oh well to each his own, but if you are looking for a no frills place to shit, shower, shave, shag, and sleep, and you are on a bit of a budget, then the Nana should be fine for you.
Dont know how much prices have inflated since 2000, but I stayed at Omni Towers further down Soi Nana for only B1300, and it's much nicer than Nana Hotel. Very comfortable surroundings, really good value for the price, and girl friendly.
Mango-- the price was just raised to 1000 baht. It was 900 baht for years. The price remains the same - at least as of December 2002. I have stayed at Nana for years- good staff friendly people and you cannot beat the scenery in the lobby from 10 PM TO 3AM or so. Next trip in April I'm booked in Omni. The rate there is 1900 baht though not 1300.
