I was one of those guys in those petty disputes and I have learned a valuable lesson from that experience. I agree with you 100%, why waste time arguing over futile things, especially when you perhaps won't ever meet the other person, or really ever know who they are. By the way Walkingdude, I like your enthusiasm for the BKK bars, please keep the bar updates coming in. To pay you a compliment I think you have a good insight into the Nana Plaza bars and how they are currently standing in terms of hot babes. I agree with Valterreekian, accurate updates to some BKK bars are long overdue. There are many great bars here in BKK and some are not even listed, however I'm working on that.

Rainbow 2, one of my favorite bars still. The number of stunner's in this bar amaze me every time. DonMarco and I had a couple drinks here last night and we had are eyes on at least 6 incredibly hot girls on stage.

I brought a newbie friend here last month. He was in awe of course. However he was quoted 4000 L/T by three different girls.

The girls here do have attitudes. Some are obviously targeting the Japanese crowd. With their hairstyles and smiles. It can be hard getting a connection here. The eye candy however is amazing. I have yet to see a bar anywhere with this many stunners.

Walkingdude you are right, Rainbow 2 really is 70-80% Japanese orientated. The Thai/Chinese owner has cornered this market very well, but at least the stunners are in Nana Plaza. You will not see this standard of go-go girls in Patpong or Cowboy for sure. The Rainbow bars have "home advantage" being locals they are extremely well connected and know every trick in the book. Therefore they have a native recruitment advantage that is second to none.

Farang owned go-go bars in Nana Plaza in all fairness can ONLY compare themselves against other Western owned go-go bars. Basically we are on their turf, so there is no comparison. There are BG's in Rainbow 2 that will go with Westerners, they are in the minority but there are some. Locals here love the eye candy aspect of this bar as Walkingdude mentioned.

I've had 0 luck barfining outa here recently and in the past. I got amnesia this last trip after fiesting my eyes on a gorgeous (rating 9) gal this last trip. Unfortunately, her attitude (rating 3) and service (rating 0) was that of a corpse. I got her attention when I told her to beat it with 0 tip tho... TBC

I have been a regular here for years and noticed that girls I overheard quote exorbitant prices to farang and some will not want to leave the area much and only do short time. Why? because there is an ongoing bet there on who can get the most clients in a day! How do I know this! I have a regular girl there I barfine at 8:30pm and then we go out and she gives me back the money and heads back in there to get another client. It is a pool amongst the girls and the pot is quite high! Nothing like good old competition. It's usually a one week pot worth 1,000baht per girl in the pool to get in on it so you can imagine if 20 girls participate how much that amounts to!

and by the way my regular girl won it once and collected 30,000baht for getting 17 barfines in 6-days!

And I guess you guys heard the rule of three and how it applies to the japanese customers.

Hi Wilster, I know the rule of three very well because I coined the expression and it was me that sent it to Stickman. It is so true about the Japanese clientele and it is customers like these that have ruined mongering for farangs. The BG's in Rainbow 2 charge that much because they are getting it. It boils down to supply and demand. However I have friends like "Ironmanx02" who knows quite a few BG's from Rainbow 2 and usually has a good time. Like yourself Wilster mongers need to get to know who the "Farang friendly" BG's are and then you are fine.

I know some of the Rainbow 2 BG's too and they are so professional it's incredible. You are right about these BG's they get the most barfines in LOS.

The rule of 3 is no good anymore because the middle 3 is now up to 4 generally. The other two 3s are not going to change so rule of 4s will never exist.
Rainbow II was for years my favorite bar in NEP. Always had the hottest young girls. They used to be just as friendly there as in all the other bars. What a shame. Now you cannot even see the girls thru the thick smoke ! I can only hope the new Rainbow 4 does not follow the example of the other Rainbow bars but that's not likely.

Khun Mor, I know one of the Thai guys who will be taking care of Rainbow 4. This will be the biggest bar in Nana Plaza if not BKK, it is going to be huge. The Thai guy told me that they need 200 BG's to fill this immense place. This is exciting news for Nana Plaza but I wonder where all these BG's will come from. I know that Rainbow Group have "home advantage" but their recruitment must be something else to come up with 200 BG's. I wonder what will happen to trade at Rainbow 1 & 2? Initially everybody will want to check out the new bar, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep all four Rainbow bars packed to capacity. I think it's good for Nana Plaza because having the biggest go-go in BKK will be a very big attraction. There is nothing like this happening anywhere else in BKK. Personally I welcome it because Rainbow 2 has more attractive BG's inside four walls than all the go-go bars in Asia. Like you say shame about the attitudes but it is the Japanese customers that have spoiled the Rainbow BG's way too much.

Actually, not all those Japanese guys are loaded though. My girl tells me they go for the older ones as the young ones think they should get it for free or try and take them for a sucker and pay only 1,000. Where I stay at the Solitaire one time a young Japanese guy got into it with the cops as the girl he had i recognised from the rainbow was irate and I am sure it had something to do with the fee!

A big banner up in Nana Plaza says that the Grand Opening of Rainbow 4 is May 6th. They say that they have many lovely BG's and free food. Well worth a visit tis place is massive!

rainbow 2 was open last night, very similar to rainbow 3 with very slim girls, some quite interesting. There were 2 or 3 I could have been interested in but I have no game here and was running out of steam.

RB2 still has the best per cap lookers than any bar. Even though I swore NOT to BF from here again, I still immensely enjoy the eye candy while having a drink.

Hey Don Marco, I have to agree Rainbow 2 & 4 have some absolute stunners. If a monger is prepared to invest time and money you can find some farang-friendly gems! However farang-friendly BG's in Rainbow 2 are few and far between. IMO Rainbow still have the most amount of stunners in LOS. Both RB-1 and RB-2 have improved their line-up, whereas RB-4 is not quite so sensational as before. I'm pleased Rainbow are in Nana Plaza because they draw the crowds for sure. If you want to look at stunning BG's in BKK then Nana Plaza is the place!

Supergirls, Happy and Peppermint have better looking girls than Rainbow 2 last time I was there. Bodies are about equal but its the face where the difference is...the Rainbow II girls are slightly older than the Pattaya places I described and faces slightly more worn. But as far as Nana goes, Rainbow II is a definate stop...dont worry about the Japanese invasion, they are usually friendly and great guys to party with. Not all of the girls have attitude there, just most.

Happy and SG do nothing for me in terms of eye candy. I'll take LDS, Peppermint, and mix in a happening smaller gogo while in pattaya anyday. RB2 has always had a couple girls that I would deam near perfect in terms of bod. I cannot think of anywhere else I can say that. However, stunners usually come with more attitude than I'm going to deal with. If your saying this is not the case, send me your black book and show me the money so-to-speak. Or are you pulling the fat older chicks and having fun?

I don't mind the jap invasion in terms of partying, the comment was directed how it negatively impacts the BGs service orientated behavior...

I think one advantage Bangkok has over Pattaya....is the upscale Club scene! Although I realize not too many mongers are interested in this type scene, but Bangkok has very nice upscale Clubs, like Q Bar that have absolute stunners! My brother and a couple of his friends love this place!

Yes Priew, I agree about the upscale club scene in BKK. This is one diverse advantage that BKK has over Pattaya. Pattaya has no upscale clubs or even an equivalent to Soi 33. However, I was down in Pattaya recently and it has improved enormously from the "Wild West" place it used to be. Gradually classy clubs may possibly appear in the future, but Pattaya girls are just not as classy as BKK girls. I am one guy who likes both BKK and Pattaya and I will always say that both locations have a lot to offer. BTW that babe is an absolute stunner! Great assets too!

Hey guys, don't wanna sound condescending here but Pattaya is the ultimate 24/7 Sin City, and that is ALL it has to offer. Nobody goes to Pattaya for class, sophistication, or civilization! It's hardcore mongers heaven but no comparison to BKK, which has a lot of classy resturants, shopping malls, etc. Clearly a case of horses for courses! I love Pattaya, I used to live there and it's Asia's "Wild West" so best to saddle into that crazy town with a street smart approach!

Pattaya offers many of the luxuries of Bangkok without all the traffic/beggars/Arab families. I am able to rent a motobike (a luxury not available in Bangkok) and drive where I want WHEN I want. I eat great food, fuck hot/fun girls and relax in a town where everything is laid back.

Bangkok is a GREAT place to be, but it's not terribly relaxing in my book. Pattaya is a place to eat, fuck, sleep and unwind.

Bangkok does have many features worth noting, however how many people here on this board are actually bothering to find all these cultural strongpoints? If I was choosing a place to live it would be Thailand, but it would definitely NOT be Bangkok. Bangkok is a place to visit - I'm not 100% sure I'd wanna live there. I stayed there for two months in 2003 and another two months in 2005 and found that all the classy resturants, shopping malls, etc. get boring fast... along with all the girls asking for 2kB ST in the gogos. Pattaya, even with less to do, FEELS like it has more to do simply because it's far easier to get to all the places you want to go. Bangkok does have a LOT to offer... a tourist...

The ex-pats here in LOS that I know much prefer BKK and the "sexpats" prefer Pattaya. Most guys I know spend a few days in Pattaya and that is enough for them. The food in general is nowhere near as good as BKK, but Pattaya is cooler, you can get around in a more enjoyable way, and you don't suffer the hustle & bustle like BKK. Very true on that point guys. Both places have good and bad points.

OK, scroll up....Priew's pic taken from the Q Bar web site is a 100% ladyboy. "she" is all over the net and works at Nana Plaza. Many ladyboys love to freelance there as well but only the ones that noone can detect, including guys on this site.

I'm with Epi. I thought it was a katoey off the bat, but I also thought it was his photo, so I kept my mouth shut. Too many people seem to take it as a personal offense if you point out they had an LB, so I rarely bother.

Damn, I almost forgot about them lady boys. Should I cancel my upcoming trip to LOS and stick with Brazil?

DM, I couldn't agree more. I moved here 11 months ago. RBII had, by a wide margin, the best lineup in any Bangkok GoGo. I didn't much like the atmosphere of the place. I'm a pretty decent looking farang. And the only girls who openly wanted to go with me were the sorts that wouldn't have approached me in less popular bars. That being said, I couldn't avoid the place, based on the eye-candy, alone. It has taken a huge nose-dive over the last, say, 4-6 months. It used to suck, based on atmosphere, and rule, based on talent. Now it still sucks, based on atmosphere, and the talent is nothing to write home about. Having said that, wait a couple of months (or weeks) everything could change. After all, this is Thailand.

Regarding RB-2 and it's talent drop it was quite obvious that it was going to happen as I mentioned this before. RB-4 opened and was nothing short of sensational, attracting hundreds of girls. Even RB-2 girls were leaving to join RB-4, so RB-2 has become a victim of its own bar group. The talent drop is a big one and I don't like the layout after renovations in RB-2.

Dropped in here with a group of friends last night and got a huge shock. I'm talking "dogs and cats living together, real Old Testament wrath of God" kind of stuff. They were actually playing rock music...in Rainbow II. If there was one place where you could be sure you would here a 200 beat per minute version of "If You're Going to San Franciso", sung by chipmunks, this was the place. Apparently the format change that hit Rainbow IV has spread to the most Japanese-centric of all Nana bars. I have to tip my hat to them, as well. It didn't seem to discourage the Japanese trade and it's certainly made the place a bit more farang-friendly. If only they still had the quality of women they did a year and a half ago...

Hi Manos, Happy Holidays!

Both Rainbow 2 and Rainbow 4 are now playing rock music. This is good news and at least they are trying. Rainbow 1 and Rainbow 3 don't play rock music - owned by different family members.

Looks like Rainbow 4 really sucked up the majority of the talent. King Ming owns both RB-2 and RB-4 and even he can't pack both bars full of talent. Too many Dancers in Rainbow 4 - last count was 200-250 Dancers in Rainbow 4 alone!

what the fuck is so good about rock music? if i hear 24 year old ACDC one more time while in LoS, I want to barf not fuck. I like the techno blends that I wouldn't hear/listen to anywhere else while bopping into bars...

For guys who just visit LOS occasionally they probably don't even hear the music. But, for residents it can be quite an issue. Expats can see girls all the time but to hear good music can be more of a rarity. Never underestimate rock music in LOS bars, because it is far more requested than any other type of music. Take it from someone on the inside who knows.

Dave, as always I'm in the minority... I like the SEA hip hop and cheeky girls crap while plopping my ass down in a gogo bar-- go figure.

Don Marco, there are guys like you out there, but if you spent a lot of time here you would hope and pray for some good music. That techo crap they play all over Pattaya is one pet hate I have about the Pattaya scene. Music can effect the whole mood and atmosphere of a place.

Also, a lot of guys do want upbeat tunes and even party songs, so bars should mix the music up. For example - playing the blues on New Years Eve would not be cool.

I arrived here late last night. I noticed they changed the inside around just a bit. The Japanese stronghold is no more. The quality of the girls is down compared with my previous trips. Still a few hotties mixed in. I noticed a change in the atmosphere. Not many smiles from the girls and the waitresses looked bored to tears. I am sure Rainbow 4 has stolen alot from this bar.

I wont be heading back this trip.

One of my old favorite haunts. I paid for part of the stage with all the bf's here over the years. A shadow of what it use to be. So many other bars I would hit before here but you still can find a gem if you're lucky.
