Anyone know the condition of the Best Western hotel in downtown San Jose and their guest policy?

This is my first visit to San Jose. Can anyone recommend a safe hotel that is guest friendly? I made reservations with the Aurola Holiday Inn but when I asked about guests in my room,they want to add another $47. Screw that. Any advice out there?

the only 2 i know are presidente and morozon, but try presidente first , for a few extra $$ much better. both hotels allow guests
