Surprised this plce isn't listed maybe action has just picked up lately.I have been going the last 5 months and a great place,It is almost next door to Molino Rojo and somewhat more upscale.They have continuious dancers and some quite nice talent for a local place.Drinks for girls are a little over $5 and 8000col. to take a girl to the room.I have had some really good times there and highly recommend it.People have always been very nice to me in the tico places and I prefer it to the gulch.rbc100

I have been to Arcadas, my last trip. I also had a good time. I would suggest taking a cab there. It is a little rough of a neighborhood

Take a cab 4 sure. Mixed experiences there from excellent to felt like I was getting ripped off. Rates 10K for half hour upstairs. On an off night it's a very cool place to make like a king amongst his harem.

On a recent weekend nite, cover 2k included 1 beer, 25 chicas, none atractive.

Arcadas is located just north of the northeast corner of Calle 2 and Avenida 10, 9.930052,-84.080218 on Google Maps. This is a rough neighborhood, so take a cab here. If your cab driver is unfamiliar with Arcadas, ask him to take you to Molino Rojo which is the on southeast corner of the same intersection. I asked my cab driver to take me to the intersection and he dropped me off at Avenida 10 and Calle 1, a full two blocks away. I noticed from several cab drivers that they either couldn't read signs, didn't know what street they were on, or both.

I visited around 10pm two Saturdays ago. Entry was 2k colones for a drink ticket. The club consisted of two medium sized rooms, the first one having a small stage with pole on the right. The bar is near the pack with porno playing on TV screens. A larger room with additional seating is to the right. There were about 8 women sitting around when I got there, one looked ok but the rest were unattractive. Fortunately more appeared with 15 minutes, including a Nicaraguan I would clasify as hot and one of the better looking ones from my trip.

A drink I bought for Carolina was 5k colones. I took her to the room for 27k colones for 30 minutes. The hour option was 40k.

The room we went to was small, but functional. It wasn't the cleanest, but wasn't the dirtiest, either.

Hours for Arcadas are Mon-Sun 7pm-3am. I don't think I would have liked the place if not for Carolina, but because of her, I approve.

I hit Arcadas twice. There was a sweet little hottie from Jaco that worked there, which I never got a chance to try out. The second night there some young Tico shitbird told me don't go with her--she has SIDA. I'm sure it was pure bullshit. He was probably dying to nail her.

Of course I managed to make my way across the steet to Molino Rojo. I can see where it might be OK if you hit it right, but I didn't. Definitely low rent.

Right across the street from Arcadas was a pretty decent open air bar/restaurant, which appeared to be open all night. I stopped in and some chicks from Arcadas joined me after they had closed. Had a good time chilling out and drinking. Got so drunk I took one of them back to my hotel for like $30--I wish I could remember if it was good or bad.

San Jose is OK. Short trip from the US. Now if they could only eliminate the bullshit $28 exit tax and the expensive cab rides to and from the airport.

You could circumvent tht taxi scam if arriving in the daytime with one piece of luggage--take a bus into town from the airport.

Next time, if arriving at night, I'd take a cheap taxi and spend the night in Alajuela, which supposedly has some whore joints worth the trouble. The next day I'd bus it into San Jose...
