Day 1/Tuesday

I waited too long to write this report so some of the details are fuzzy, but at least it will be concise and easy to read. This trip is from December 2012. The prior report was from 2010, so at least I didn't wait a couple years.

I save a lot of money by staying in hostels. Such was the case on this trip. After landing and cleaning up, I left the hostel around 9pm to visit The Pirate Club for the first time. The ride cost me 1.6 k colones. This bar is on Avenida 10 between Calle 12 and Calle 14 on the north side of the steet. There's not much to clearly identify it except for the security guy standing out front. On Tuesday night there was no cover, I don't think there ever is. The selection was mediocre. The first pretty lady I spotted was overweight. One of the bartenders was attractive but I don't think she went to the room. I almost left without finding anyone, but then I managed to snag a Paola that appeared that was really cute. Unfortunately, the pictures I got didn't do her justice and she started getting uncomfortable with face shots so I didn't get many.

There were a several pricing options for time and type of room, I selected 30 minutes for 16k colones. Paola's skills were decent, but the visual from behind was incredible. I thought it was money well spent!

I got out of there around 11pm and took their private cab to the Del Rey/Blue Marlin for 1.5k colones.

One of the first ladies I spotted was Daniela, IMO one of the prettiest ladies I've ever been with.

The hill you have to walk up to get there is steep, so I wouldn't recommend walking it if you want to stay cool.

I tried the east side entrance on Calle 34 as recommended on another forum but didn't get an answer to the buzzer. A guy that came out of the building next door told me to go to the north entrance. A decent looking lady let me in from there. She ran me through the specifics of the casa such as price and stuff. Of the 7 ladies there, 2 were to my liking, but they got snatched up by other guys. Rather than waiting, I decided to revisit later and explore further.

Golden Girls was two blocks to the west just south of the southeastern corner of Avenida 5 and Calle 38. If you check the topic you can see a picture of the place (although the building was white when I visited) and avoid the hassle I went through. Or at least I think it did, I didn't take note of exactly where I read it nor the date of the last post.

Alcasar was my destination, and it was my first visit there. Cover to get in was 5k colones and got me tickets for 2 beers. The place is kind of small, but looked fairly nice and clean on the inside. I wasn't there long before I was approached by Rosalie. She was pretty and sexy, but slightly on the bigger side. I ended up buying her a drink for 5.5k colones but told her I'd get back to her later after that.

I bought a chicken sandwich at a 24 hour food booth around the corner from the hostel, then finally called it a night.

Day 4/Friday

I had plans with non-hobbying friends on Friday and didn't get back to San Jose until early Saturday evening.

Day 5/Saturday

Early Saturday night brought me to the Sportsmen's Lodge. I made it in around 7:45pm and hung out for about 15 minutes before leaving. There were about 20 ladies apread out throughout the place, one of them pretty buy a little on the large size, but the rest were mediocre looking at best.

I hailed a taxi to drop me off where Arcadas was supposed to be, but he dropped me off at Calle 1 instead of Calle 2, so I had to walk a couple of blocks in the bad neighborhood. I kept my wits about me and didn't run into any problems.

Cover for Arcadas was 2k and included a beer. There were about 9 ladies around, none of them particularly attractive, but none that were very ugly either. I hung out and drank my beer until a hot darker lady appeared. She smiled so I called her over for a drink. Carolina was from Nicaragua and seemed very friendly. Her drink was 5k. We talked a bit but she had to excuse herself because some food that she had ordered arrived. When she returned we discussed going to the room. The price was 30 minutes for 27k or an hour for 40k. I crossed the street and entered Molino Rojo around 11pm, cover was 1.5k. I had been there before, but the layout looked different than I remembered. There was a large stage, but I didn't see any dancers while I was there. There were about 15 ladies, but most of them were ugly. A couple of them would have been passable in a pinch. I asked about the price and was quoted 12.5k for 30 minutes in the room. I wasn't really interested so I left after I finished my beer.

I made it back to Pantera Rosa where I was charged 6k to get in. There were tons of guys with a relatively small number of ladies spread thinly throughout the club. I scanned the room for nearly an hour while I was there looking for a lady that was more than cute looking, but I didn't spot any. There weren't any uglies, but I was disappointed that there weren't any I found very attractive. I'll stop by again sometime in the future, but my current assessment is that Pantera Rosa is not worth the expense.

I made another walk through the Del Rey at 12:30am, but didn't see anyone I liked.

I returned to Alcasar after that. Angelina was there but busy. A couple of others were cute but I didn't bite. I checked with the door guy if I could leave and return without paying cover again and he said I could.

Sundays can be tough in most Latin American countries. But if Costa Rica has any advantages, I would say the main one would be ease of finding available ladies on Sunday, though at a reduced number.

I'm not sure why it was more than double, but it's possibly because you get a better room. That's how it worked somewhere else. I didn't want to wait and it was going to get dark soon so I took off.

After some rest and dinner I headed back out a few hours later. My first stop was the Hotel Little Havana. There was no sign of Amanda. In fact only two ladies were around during the half hour I was there, but neither captured my interest.

A quick stop at the Del Rey/Blue Marlin presented Carolina as an option, but not much else.

One could easily see what was taking place but not identify who was involved. We ended up being the only people upstairs during our time (as far as I know) so it didn't really matter. Thanks for the hard work in digging out and doing the dirty research. I remember that march myself, I used to live right down the block between Calle 6 and 8. I remember needing to keep my head on a swivel at nights because of the chapulin and the danger from the druggies.

Staying away from comments about the ladies, it seems like a LOT of hard work to get laid in CR these days. Man, I'm used to walking a block to Raymond Street and picking out a 20 year old beauty for $25 fish.

I have to agree with Paulyvegas though that sounded like a lot of work relative to how many good looking girls you managed to get. Not that it's your fault in any way. With the amount of moving around you did, that's just evidence that San Jose is probably NOT a target rich environment for a short stay.

This is why I'm basically finished traveling to mongering "hubs" for vacations expect to pass through and when I do I like to go to the venues with the most girls to choose from.
