Me and a buddy of mine decided to do a tour of all the Penjsions (hole in the walls), and this one had the best selection. There where about 17 girls here at noon, not so many men, so we had the pick of the litter. $14 U.S. for 30 min, cant beat that. These places are not for those who have a weak stomach, it reminds me of Vila Mosa in Rio.
Worth a poping your head in, there are 3 in a row, so you can see about 50 woman and than choose.

Anyone know the hours for the Calle 6 brothels?

I did the Calle 6 tour de force one afternoon a couple months back with a buddy I met at Hotel Little Havana. Kinda sketchy neighborhood that Calle 6. A lot of tweakers and dead eyed stoners. I'd probably get out of there by sundown. There is a lot of pussy, but also a lot of "mirones" who just show up to nose around and do nothing.

Those places are strictly shag shacks--wham bam thank you mam. A bit of the old in and out if you know what I mean...

Pension La Portugeza is one of four low budget brothels located side-by-side on Calle 6 between Avenida 3 and Avenida 5. Walking from Avenida 3, they'll be on the left side starting about half-way up the block. From South to North, the brothels are Liliam, Paramount, Masion I, and Pension La Portugesa.

I've heard warnings about wandering around this place, even in the day, but I felt comfortable in the mid-afternoon. The street reminded me of some parts of Quito where I've visited more recently.

I stopped in Pension La Portugeza this past Thursday in the mid-afternoon. Zoner's description at the top of this thread is accurate. There were about 15 women about with one that was attractive, but I passed. Unlike the other 3, this brothel was packed with guys at the entrance doing nothing but watching the women and each other. I had to squeeze past a bunch of them just to view the selection. I didn't ask in any of them, but I had heard these places charged in the range of 8k colones for 30 minutes. I think I may visit again tomorrow, hopefully it won't be crowded with guys earlier in the day.

On Tuesday there were far fewer guys when I visited. The talent was about the same, but the attractive one was missing. I still managed to find one I liked with beautiful eyes. Unfortunately she wasn't very photogenic.

The session here was 7.5k for 30 minutes and the room was actually fairly nice. This is defintely the best of the four brothels on this block.
