Johnshaft...You may find the same taxi experience in front of Solarium. Driver wanted to charge 20 reals for that 10 reals ride using the "no meter" and that the norm routine.

I hate the taxi scams outside of Solarium. Have gotten out of the taxi a couple of times after they pull the no meter deal. What sux is it is a pain to catch a taxi around there at night except from the theives that park at Solarium.

I just don't go there anymore.

Sounds like you have to take the good with the bad. 90 reals is nothing compared with experiences that will last forever if you have a great time and have your bollas completely drained of any evidence of dna. The fact that you are a black man sounds like an advantage. When they see me they will be scared shitless. I am 6'8 and weigh in at around 285 lbs. Right now I would guess 315, but who is counting the pounds. So don't complain about that exit fee. I look at it this way. They have high caliber garotas because they are probably paying these girls extra just to recruit them. Funny you guys mention that, for I have been to Solarium many times, and I have never had that problem. In fact, some of my best experences with taxi drivers have been leaving Solarium.

One time my apartment key fell out of my pocket behind the seat. The next day the big hunk of a nice brasilian guy who works in front of Solarium got in touch with the cabbie, and I retrieved my key. This place edged out Solarium for the best line-up I found in town. The rooms are spacious and well appointed as well. The upfront payment is an annoyance though, and it is more expensive than all the others.

Have to give the nod to centaurus this weekend...way more talent than the other termas...

Centaurus has a lot of pretty girls, the boate sucks but it is easy to get the job done. My main complaint is lack of turnovers. I can recommend 24 year old Shakira, mixed indian, quite skilled orally and not a lot of mileage. I also liked Malu, goianesa 21, 8 months on the program, youthful 21. Centaurus has been the only reliable terma in the last 2 years, bit expensive with current dollar.

I have been to Centaurus probably more than a 100 times, and I was there last Tuesday night and it was the best I have ever seen.

Was in Centaurus today and met up with a cute blonde by the name of Cleo. Alot of ladies were off today. Apparently close to Christmas and they are looking for some time off. Was not impressed by C today. Was looking for Sara, but sadly she was not there. Paying 300R is bit of a drag for 40 minutes.

In Lapa there was a small club that had DJ'ed salsa, but VERY few groups in RIo play salsa. You find some tango and of course Samba, forro, pagode here. You might try some of the Angolan night spots in the city which play a wider variety of music. (Yes Brazil has a large Angolan community).

There's nothing worth the time for Salsa/Mambo in Rio. However, there is a place called Azucar in S. Paulo that is pretty good.

I usually stay at Ipanema Tower, nice, walking distance to Centaurus (for an afternoon visit, taxis after dark, of course), but their guest policy suddely is unclear, so I am still deciding about another apartment. But it's going to be in Ipanema, on the Arpoador side. I will get back to you guys as soon as I know.

In my opinion Centaurus is the best terma in Rio, but it can be very uneven too. In October last year it was fantastic, I was THE "dupla man" to my buddies, on my last visit in April this year it was so bad, that it was hard to find one decent looking garota in the whole place. So - we'll see.

What's with the Ipanema Towers changing their guest policy. Was there in Nov with a group and we got a taking to about bringing in obvious ho's during the daytime as they are supposedly a family Apart-hotel. I guess some guys were ordering in some ho's from Karla's that didn't know how to act or dress.

I guess in high season they change the rules. I'll bet in low season you can doink em in the lobby and they wouldn't care.

Centaurus looked very good to me tonight. There are a lot of new faces (my last trip beg of Nov). Sessioned with Channa? spelling. She is a petite morena. Went to Centaurus once on this recent trip, and I must say I was extremely disappointed.

I eventually chose a girl who was not all that great looking, but she was patient, and spoke to me like a human being. But upon leaving, an asshole at the desk had a serious attitude problem. Centaurus would've been a total bust if it weren't for the black massagist who gave his typical fantastic massage.

I was in Centaurus two times last week, it's definitely my favorite terma, entry is R$310 and choice was good, not as good as previously but still good. I recognized some garotas from my previous trips there last year.

Spent Thursday from 4:30 till 10 PM at Centaurus. Bill was $860, $310 entry and session 1, 2 sessions @ $220 each, and $110 in drinks. Quality was great, I felt like I sessioned with three of the hottest garotas in the place. So many garotas working that you could find 7-8 hanging out in the Relax room at any given time. Two notables, Beatrice, loira who lives in Leblon and loves to play volleyball on the beach, a hardened pro (a little bit on the safadinha side) who could have been a solid 9.5 with some minor orthodontia work and Diana, morena, from Bahia, only on the program and working at Centaurus for two months, probably the hottest body I have seen in Brazil-perfectly augmented breasts (very squeezable, no hardness whatsoever) and a perfect voluptuous body with no ass dimples. Had a fantastic time.

centaurus is only ok this day..a little bit better than the others this week but I guess I expected perfection since this is what I have usually found or at least a couple of 9īs..they do have some 8īs for sure...staff is very friendly these days..

The talent at Centaurus is sorely diminished, I went in there Monday night and after 30 minutes left with an amigo who felt the same. We did not like the fee structure as usual, even though we were fortunate not to pay for a session on entry, all we paid was the entrance fee. I think we paid the tourist tax as well as the normal entry.

Neither of us were impressed with the line-up. The girls there can no longer compete with any of the other top-line termas. I thought that they were like store front manequins compared to girls at other termas. They all looked at me as if to say, "fuck me because I am better than the girls at the other termas." Centaurus used to have the best looking girls around but no longer, I have seen better everywhere else.

I went to Centaurus last night Friday around 7 and I wasn't that impressed. I sessioned with a girl named Erika who was just ok in bed. As soon as we finished round one in a 40 minutes session she rolled over and basically went to sleep when we had at least 10 minutes left. Also be careful buying drinks for girls. One girl that I didn't session with asked if I would buy her a drink. It turns out a Red Bull Vodka is a Red Bull for 15 reales and a vodka for 7 reales.

A bit pricey if you ask me. Of course I just came from Buenos Aires so I'm a bit biased.

Went Centaurus on a Saturday evening recently and I was expecting to be blown away by at least 1 or 2 stunners like I had in the past. Told the receptionist I did not want to pay the money upfront and she said okay, but there were "86 girls working tonight". Greeted by a girl who was exactly like an american -- perfect English, no ass, and talking the whole time about wanting to get married. I ignored her completely and proceeded to the boite. Probably only 20-25 girls. Certainly, no stunners. Talked to at least 1/2 dozen who spoke great English (I hate that!!). Got terrible vibes from all of them and all wanted to smoke while talking with me (which I can't stand). Was thinking about bailing out of there until I very leggy Italian-Brasilian mixed garota named Julianne. Very good mouth and good kisser. Again, she smoked perfect English having had an American boyfriend. Although, I'd say it was cool conversation and got a decent vibe from her. She put forth a good (not great) performance, good kisser, a little too much teeth on the BJ.
My impression is girls got a lot of attitude. Most have far too much experience working with Americans (compared to the centro termas). I don't really care much for lady watch-dog who monitors the boite.

I was in Centaurus last about 2 weeks ago. Talent was decent but I don't think it justifies the high price. Equal or better talent can be found in other termas.

Place had some decent chicks on Saturday night. Was definitely the best spot for talent on this trip in my opinion.

MitchC, I was in there the same night you were and though the volume of girls was pretty good I don't think the talent was any better than you'd see at 4x4. In fact, I sessioned with a girl who later I saw working in Help that night.

I was having a discussion about the place with another American and we both agreed that 3-4 years ago you'd see a handful of girls you couldn't believe they were available to have sex with. Now, I don't think the quality is any better than you'd find at 4x4.

In fact, I talked with a few girls who said they are thinking about moving over to 4x4 just because some days they don't make any money. This is the most high-pressure sale termas by far. I repeatedly had girls asking me for drinks and take 2 girls to the room.

If the girls dont make any money off of drinks, why do they pressure you so much to purchase them. Obviously, its not so they can get drunk, because they are still on the clock, they have to be able to function. So why the sales pitch?

Someone told me the gdps have a guy quota. They have to average so many guys a night, or they have to hit the road. Hence, the constant sales pitch and the quickest turnover of any terma. Duplas help the quota for two gdps. Maybe, there's a drink quota now, as well.

I doubt if there is a hard quota but just like most termas, if the girl isn't producing she won't be around too long.

The above mentioned is correct. Garotas at Centaurus are not allowed to drink alcohol, but I have always been asked by them to by alcoholic drinks and/or red bulls. They don't get drinks for free so they aren't willing to pay the 12-13R for a red bull.


Of all the termas, this one is by far the most agressive. Within 5 mins, a girl is pressuring for the "fazer ama". It never fails to be pushed for 2-girls or 1 hour instead of 40 mins. Not sure if it is true, but I've heard the wife of the owner was a former GDP herself. I've always heard Centaurus is pretty strict -- requiring the girls to only take one day off work per week.

I had one girl ask me for 50R because I talked to her for 1 hour after I clearly said I had already sessioned and was just interested in relaxing. The girl hounded me down to locker room until I told her to "vai toma no cu". Then the locker-room attendant asked me for a tip too for doing absolutely nothing for me.

Not sure if it is abundance of americans who set these standards of this place -- piranha attacks, but I will stick to the centro termas. I probably session 70% of the time for a termas visit, but I developed the Brasilian mentality of hanging out with a girl for at least a good 30-45mins before taking her. Here at this place, the girls get real antsy and do a good job of showing it too. It pretty much kills the fantasy since they make it all so professional.

There were no stunners to be found. Talent was no better than you'd find at 4x4 (if you have some patience for that place) so for the price I'd just as well head downtown.
