Any hotel recommandation near Millenium.

The taxi drivers at Connection are terrible. Next time I go there I probably will telephone a taxi to pick me up rather than subject myself to the sharks who camp out in front of the place.
I remember once another hombre on this board was taken for something like $R150 for a taxi from Connection to GRU when it should have run around $R60 (possibly a bit more now given the meter rates have risen).

How far of a cab ride is it from Pinheiros to Millenium?
Will be there mid month in August and Bomboa is off the list now with the prices (can do much better in Rio).
By Mitchc on Sunday, July 30, 2006 - 08:33 am: Edit |
I can't see Millenium being much cheaper than Bomboa actually. However, I do prefer M. Cab ride is only about 20-25 minutes I believe.
Laguy, last time I was at Connections, it took almost 20 minutes for a cab to even arrive (Sunday night).
By Kojak on Tuesday, August 01, 2006 - 04:09 pm: Edit |
Mitchc,
Millenium is better in price than Bomboa. The entrance fee is $50r cheaper and then the prices for food and drink are much cheaper so you get more drinks and food. Then there is no cover charge of $50r like in Bomboa. The room is a little cheaper at $70r. The girls want a little less too. Around $150-$200r for Millenium. At Bomboa that starting at $300r. Connection for the best for the price except it is furtherest away from my hotel next to Paraiso metro station. I take the metro to Carrao station and then taxi from there for less than $15r but leave after midnight it would cost almost $50r to get back to hotel.

I was just in Sampa in August and dropped by Bomboa to see what was going on...it was a Tues or Wed night and they were charging a R$150 cover charge!! I didn't even walk in the door - I couldn't have afforded it with the R$2.1:US$1 exchange rate! Millenium is much hotter right now...even paulistas will tell you that.

My buddy just came back!
$R100 cover (5 drinks a food item can be a drink)
You pay at end of night.
Upstairs is $R70 per visit
Ladies want $R300 many are firm, some will go
to $R250. They all give the same story almost
like a union trying to keep prices up.
Many are just average garotas. Only a few are
above 8. No 10's.
He was told, many of the girls drive Mercedes's and have luxury apartments nearby. Others struggle to get 0,1,2 guys a night competion high.
50 or so ladies. Closes at 4 am.
By Elgrancombo on Saturday, December 16, 2006 - 10:11 pm: Edit |
Sad to hear that Mo hombre. I was there in January and the quality was top notch. The prices were also significantly less - I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was way less than that. Not sure what the girl asked for, but I think the total for entrance/room/drinks/girl was either 220R or 240R.
By Layne87 on Wednesday, February 07, 2007 - 04:25 pm: Edit |
well its high at 100,70 and 300 but damn this place has some talent..seriously had trouble choosing in here on thursday night...rio is just a better deal but every once in awhile for some completely different talent that rates pretty high, I guess maybe..but bypass bomboa and just bite the bullet here..
By Laguy on Wednesday, February 07, 2007 - 04:36 pm: Edit |
Any idea what the price increase for the New Year (if any) was at Connection? Last I heard (from last year) the price was R$220 for a 1-hour session with the approximately 50 reais minimum consumption charge chargeable against the session.
I believe there was a great overlap between clubs with the girls rotating between them and a couple of others.
By Kojak on Wednesday, April 04, 2007 - 08:11 am: Edit |
I was there last night (Tue). There were lots of girls and few customers. I got the taxi to drive me for free from Paraiso metro station where my Mercure hotel is located for free. The club pays the taxi drivers $30R so you don't really need to pay them more. The taxi ride back was $15R.
There were two possibles for me. The first one failed interview on service. The second one passed and accepted my $200R offer. She was a good session. I prefer to offer them the price instead of asking them. Because I feel they have nothing to lose when they asked for more than they will accept. And debating the price just take the fun out of the whole experience.
By Kojak on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 08:07 am: Edit |
Cafe Millenium is $100R entrance fee and room for $70R. There were about 70 girls. There were only 7's or less. The new rooms were very nice with flat screen in room.

It looks like Millenium has finally reopened (as Scandallo Lounge). Anyone tried it yet? Prices look insane, but not much worse than the rest of town I guess.

Mitchc-
Do they have a web site?
I did a google search and only turned up info that rapper Ja Rule supposedly performed there on 12/2.
By Bluestraveller on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 11:30 am: Edit |
Here you go BD.
http://www.scandallolounge.com.br/
Seeing the pictures gave me an itching to go. Millenium was always one of the nicer places and it looks like they stepped it up a notch.
By Laguy on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 12:20 pm: Edit |
I only briefly looked at their website (and my Portuguese is only so-so) but nothing popped out at me to suggest it is still a house of gdp's, at least with on-premise rooms and so forth. What I did see was that a fairly well-known music group will be performing there. Is it possible it is now merely a general entertainment venue with music acts and so forth?
By Laguy on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 01:02 pm: Edit |
On further inspection, the website does refer to Bangalôs, so maybe that is the word they are using to refer to the rooms where the transactions are "consummated."
Not sure though.

Seems strange to describe cabines/suites as bungalows. I'll have to check the SP monger sites to see what they say. Always liked Millennium.
By Bluestraveller on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 03:22 pm: Edit |
If you look at the pictures, I think the bungalows are the kind of tent like structures with a bed/sofa underneath it.
I am getting my info from gpguia and it seems that it is operational. The girls appear to settle on R$300 for an hour and R$500 for two hours.
By Bwana_dik on Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 03:28 pm: Edit |
So, there are on-site rooms...R$90/hr. Entrance is R$150 and includes R$100 towards drinks/food. Shows (concerts) cost extra. The going rate for girls seems to be R$250-300/hour, with some asking for R$500. The place looks nice, but most of the reviews I read commented on how pricey it's gotten. Most guys report spending a minimum of R$600 for an evening with just one pop. Obviously they are pushing the high end, so Scandallo Lounge is not for the average monger.

Anyone try the new Millenium yet?
By Kojak on Thursday, April 08, 2010 - 09:25 pm: Edit |
I just got to Sao Paulo today. I see the reviews in GPguia and not planning to spend that much money for pussy. If more money you spend equal more enjoyment you get than I am there. But sadly I think sometime it is the opposite. There are more boate in the cheaper range than the higher price ones. Seems like all the larger popular boates keep raising their prices until they start losing the volume or go out of business. You do see more prettier girls and fewer chubby one but they are still only girls. I met girls at casa for under $100R for hour that worked at Bahmas, Bomboa, and etc. I guess it depends on how much money the girl is trying to make and if they are from out-of-town. Some of them worked in the casa in daytime and boate at night. I have been to Cafe Photo, Bahamas, Cafe Millenium, and Bomboa. Now I just go to Connection, smaller boates, and casas. I don't think that there are that many hot co-eds looking for a little extra money once in a while. Most are hard cord putas looking to make as much money as soon as possible. And that you can find anywhere.
By Laguy on Friday, April 09, 2010 - 04:03 pm: Edit |
Kojak: I assume your references to going to Bahamas mean awhile ago. I haven't heard anything about them re-opening, but if they have, please let us know. OTOH, I doubt I would go now even if they were open because like you, I'm not inclined to go to the expensive places in Sao Paulo, which have gotten way too expensive; I have just as much fun finding diamonds in the rough at the less expensive boates and casas.
By Kojak on Friday, April 09, 2010 - 08:29 pm: Edit |
Laguy, Too bad I am going just missing this trip. My visit to Bahamas was a few years ago. Didn't know they were closed.

By Bwana_dik on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 03:07 pm: Edit |
Mitchc-
I'm thinking the answer is no. You need to take one for the team.
By Mitchc on Thursday, May 12, 2011 - 09:20 am: Edit |
I can't even afford to drive to my local airport, let alone make a Millenium run. This is probably the largest and maybe best club in the western hemisphere so I'm surprised that there is no info.
By Catocony on Thursday, May 12, 2011 - 09:51 am: Edit |
Wasn't Millenium the one that closed and has reopened under a different name?
By Laguy on Thursday, May 12, 2011 - 10:03 am: Edit |
Yup. But I haven't gone back since the name change so can't say anything more.

What's strange is I can't find info on the Brasilian boards either.
By Catocony on Thursday, May 12, 2011 - 03:31 pm: Edit |
It was open in July when I was last in Sampa. Not sure about now.

Just a reminder to all, its new name is Scandallo Lounge:
http://www.scandallolounge.com.br/
I read a review of the place that supposedly was written a few months ago, but the guy was referring to it as Cafe Millenium, so I'm wondering about the authenticity:

By Mitchc on Friday, May 13, 2011 - 09:52 am: Edit |
I have seen a review or two on the Brasilian boards but it's very thin. I kinda think that they might have some unofficial oath to not do reports about it for some reason. That is pure speculation on my part though.

That place looks fuckin awesome... amenities/ambiance..right up my alley..
By Catocony on Saturday, May 14, 2011 - 05:36 pm: Edit |
Yeah, and a minimum R$600 for entry, a cabine and a program too. Plus a pricey taxi ride to and from.
I would say stick to Bomboa and Connection instead.

"R$600 for entry,".......
Like i was saying...this place sucks...totally not up my alley....
By Catocony on Sunday, May 15, 2011 - 11:23 am: Edit |
Sao Paulo is not cheap. At Connection you could probably get in and out for under R$350 or so, but not Bomboa or the other higher-end places. Bomboa is definitely a minimum of R$600. At least in these clubs, a significant portion of the entry is for consumption. Of course, beers are R$25 or more each, so if you like to drink, you'll tap out your entry pretty quickly and then the bill really gets large.
By Mitchc on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 08:04 am: Edit |
Is $600R confirmed? The prices quoted in that article are significantly less.
By Catocony on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 01:55 pm: Edit |
Well, unless prices have dropped substantially - and they changed the name back to Millenium - I would say there's no fucking way any garota in any of the upper clubs in Sao Paulo is going to do anything for R$100 or whatever 40 British Pounds are these days.
Bomboa entry is R$200, with ~R$160 of that for consumption. The rooms for an hour - you have to walk across the parking garage since the new law went into effect that separates the hotel and the club - are around R$100, and the girls are pretty much a minimum of R$300 with most starting at 500-600 and working down.
Connection was cheaper on all three - entry, room and garota - but nowhere near the prices quoted in that article. And to the best of my knowledge, of the upper-end clubs, Connection is the cheapest. Of course the R$70 taxi rides can bump it up if you're not using Metro or renting a car or something.
That article makes very little sense, as if the writer had never actually been there. You know the main clubs in Sampa pretty well, did anything in the description add up? The girls living in the basement of the club? The prices? Wearing lingerie? STD tests only every 3 months? It's like the guy is combining elements of a termas with a club. A gym with an accupuncturist?
Whatever that article is trying to describe, it's certainly not Millenium/Scandello.
By Bwana_dik on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 02:18 pm: Edit |
I think Cat is saying R$600 all in, not for entrada. From what little I've heard, I can imagine it would be easy to drop R$600 in the place for a few drinks a room and an hour program. If I want to play, I'll play at Connection. It's plenty upscale for me, and I was able to get girls for R$150 without working too hard.
By Mitchc on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 09:38 pm: Edit |
I thought that the description in the article sounded very accurate. I'm just confused about the when it was written. It was "posted" this February but he still calls it Millenium and he mentions that the attached regular night club would be opened soon. I think it's been open for over a year now so his prices must be stale but again, I'm not certain. I wish someone would do some recon so we could get some real prices instead of relying on the $600R speculation.
By Catocony on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 10:39 pm: Edit |
Well, those may have been prices 7-8 years ago, when 40 pounds = 80 dollars = close to R$250. The entry would have been around R$150, the hotel around R$100 at the exchange rates back then, which isn't too far off from today's prices.
Did girls at Millenium wear lingerie? The other places I hit in SP all did dresses and miniskirts and stuff.
By Mitchc on Monday, May 16, 2011 - 10:53 pm: Edit |
I remember seeing mostly miniskirts also but I think there was a mix. I don't really remember seeing lingerie though. His description of about 100 of the girls living on site was spot on though. It could have been 7-8 years ago because that was when the building expansion was being planned and also the math works.

Reporting live from scandallo lounge! A live blog!
Damn this is a classy joint. Light croud. Probably about 150 to 200 girls here in "nightclub" attire. It would be difficult for the skirts to be any shorter.
R$150 entrance so far.

I've been hunched over my computer waiting with great anticipation for the next installment of Dood's live blog from the Scandallo lounge, but it would appear he has been waylaid.
By the way, Hi Dood, I'm pretty sure we met years ago at the same club (when it was Millenium). Among others MitchC and GCL were also with us at the same table.

It's pretty remarkable that the entrance fee was $70R back in 2003 at 3.7R per USD and $150R now at 1.6R per USD. That's $19 then vs. $94 now!

As I said before, the Brazilians will be having group tours to Las Vegas, Reno, and Mustang Ranch soon because of the decline of the $.
Probably, even guys from Kenya and Ethiopia will be flying in on group tours.
