FYI... I went to Monte Carlo on Wednesday and they have changed there policy. Now they will only except cash for the ladies, but they are willing to put everything else on credit cards, entry fee, drinks, etc.

The owner said that too many people were using credit cards and he has to pay the commission fees to the bank but the ladies still get there full pay and it's starting to be too much.

But I will say the place still has some super fine ladies and I went to all the spots on the trip except Centuras.

Monte Carlo had new faces but mostly middle tier to bottom of top tier. Still lineup is always young and fresh. Gets too crowded especially on Saturday.

A review in a single word: disappointing. It is not that I do not like Rio or termas, in fact, I love them. The problem is that during my previous trip to Monte Carlo (approximately one year earlier) this was my favorite Termas of all the popular termas (Centauraus, luomo, Solarium, Rio Antiqua). The facilities were brand new (lights on bright to show off the facility and the beautiful women) but in only a year, the place has become quite run down and when I arrived at opening time on a Monday there were 25 robes and 3-4 f***ing girls! This was the exact opposite of what I remember in 2002!

Is there hope?

Despite my disappointment, I did find an English speaking blond that I enjoyed (you can almost always find someone in a Brazilian termas). The staff is helpful and they are currently in the process of renovating. I was told that the lack of females was a result of the rain (???). I hope to return to Rio in the next 6-12 months and I hope things have improved. If not, I might reduce this termas status to "hope to get there."

What are the prices?

Overall, I think it came to 190 Brazilian real (40 to get in, 100 to the girl, and 50 for the room). Please note that drinks and food are extra (beers I think are 5 Brazilan real).

I guess this just points out how unpredictable it can be. In late January I showed up at Monte Carlo at about 10 pm on a Tuesday, it was myself, two other guys(already occupied) and 40 girls in the boite. Talk about being desired, I ended up saying no to at least 10 girls before I found the one I wanted. I had very good experiences at Monte Carlo my last trip.

MC has 40 to 60 girls on any given night. But never been there at 16:00 opening bell. They are remodeling to accomodate big tourists crowd. 4x4 and MC are the busiest termais.

He called the timekeeper, explained they had 2 clocks blah, blah etc. He didn't deny I had got less than an hour and asked how long I thought I'd got. I said 50 mins to which he replied "No, it was definitely longer than that". If he'd waived the entrada I'd have been satisfied. His weak offer (IMO) was he'd take care of me next time I was in but wasn't specific.

The upshot was that I was a very pissed off customer. Next Termas I went to with my buddies was Luomo. I preferred both the boite and the girls but most impressive was the really friendly attitude at the front desk. I know many here think Marcio is a good businessman but I can't see myself ever going back to MC. Some of you may think I'm being silly but people taking liberties esp when you know they're lying to you really winds me up.

I was at MC on Friday with some clients and I was very surprised at how has the quality droped in that place.

While talking to the Girls manager she told me that they used to have only 42 girls and now they have almost 70. They seem to have increased the numbers based on no exact criteria. There were some truly FAT chicks there and a lot of very desperate girls. Usually I never get appraoched by a girl as the guys usually do the first move. However within 20 minutes of being there, three girls had approached me. There was also more Brazilian men than usual. There were maybe two to three fuckable girls there.

Only my opinion but I wouldnt waste my money going there.

Brazil practice of business differs from the states. There is no such thing as PR and keep the customer happy, all they want is your money.
Dont ever go to Rio antigo terma, I had an arguement with a girl during sex because of her performance and she put her cloths on in 25 min and called it 40 min and management took her side.
So wasting $R180 at the Rio antigo, I was pissed.

Just pay with CC at MC. Maruis gets pissed when using CC because he hates taxes.

I am surprised by these complaints concerning the Monte Carlo management. My experience over the course of several dozen trips has been universally positive. They have always seemed to have my
pleasure and comfort at heart. One visit last trip I laughingly showed Maurius my bill and demanded as free t-shirt. He looked at my bill and said, "OK". The only policy they have which i find somewhat questionable is their policy of getting rid of girls fairly randomly in order to make room for new girls. Of course, this bothers the girls far more than it does me.

Maruis never pissed me off and I always had an enjoyable visit but as Ardgeas, if he's not going to make an effort to keep any customers happy and have a stricly business attitude. Why should I give him or any other terma owner the leverage. I think AMEX or Master they get hit for 11% in fees.

Ceenotes, you are intitled to your opinion, but as a business man, I have to side with Marius on this one. When you have your own business, you can decide what form of payment you will recieve. The bottom line is that you are still paying the same amount, whether cash or cc, but he is losing 10% on the transaction. He is the one losing out on money, not the customer. Now if he was charging an EXTRA 10% to all CC users, I would say he was being difficult.

I can understand them asking for cash for the girl's fees. They have to pay them in cash and don't want to get hit for the x% that the CC company levies. This is std practice at other Termas as well.

What I do object to is getting 10-15mins lopped off my 1hr suite. It's particularly aggravating when you know the Termas knows that you have a genuine complaint but won't back down and do anything to rectify the fault.

At the end of the day it's worked out quite well for me as it led me to start frequenting Luomo rather than MC, but wanted to give the heads up to others CHers.

Hey I was at MC twice so far this trip, and independent of the management, the renovations to the place are awesome. The locker area is now twice as big and the new cabines are spacious and full of mirrors and clean looking. Instead of a single bed, there is now a nice double bed. You can easily do a double in the new cabines. I did.

They might be doing some things wrong but they are also doing some things right.

I have been short changed 15 minutes on one of my session in the past too. I should have complained but I just got pissed off, I made sure to look at my watch on the next session and they were right on the money.
