Hey guys.Well I'm off to Rio tonight.Many thanks to Athos,Youngtom,and everyone else for all the great info.I'll let everyone know what New Years there is like besides expensive.I say the hell with it.It's only money.Once I start playing with the garotas the extra money I spent to be there now isn't going to matter much.I'll let everyone know what my impressions where.

I saw some TV footage of flooding in Rio; I hope that it dries out by the time that you get there. It sounded like there were numerous deaths; mostly related to extremely heavy rains and flavelas.

Well guys I.ve been here about 30 hours,and all I can say is Wow.I,m staying at a studio apt. on copacabana ave 2 blocks from the beach.Not much to look at from the outside but the room very decent.Had my first termas experience last night.Went to Rio Antiga.Very nice first time experience.Went a Morena named Medilla real cute face with your standard classic great Brazil butt.I don´t know what they feed these women down here.I have never seen more great butts in one place in my life.I´ll keep a running daily report as the trip goes on.

I'm sure that Billcink is paying a fortune for his apt but it is New Years so that is to be expected. I'm going to go during Carnaval and the apt that I'm staying at will cost 3 times as much during Carnaval compared to non-carnaval. During Carnaval, absolutely every apt and hotel in Rio costs 3 times normal. I'd imagine the same situation for New Years.

Fooledagain, The apt. is ok.Doesn´t look like much the hallways are really dumpy but the room is very decent.It does`t have a safe but there´s a 24 hour doorman so noone getting up there isn´t supposed to be.There´s no view but the the one thing I really like about it,is there´s very little noise.So no trouble taking naps in the afternoon. Did a repeat at the Solarium last night.Ended up staying most of the night.I just love to watch those girls dance.Did 2 cabin turns with the same honey from the night before.I quess it´s something about a girl that looks like a particular movie star.Believe it or not there´s also a girl there that looks a lot like Britney Spears.So for all you you mongers who have movie or pop star fantasies go there and take a look.I,m probably going to check out Centarius tonight. One thing I found out is I kind of like the places when it´s a little crowded.You don´t feel like such a target,and get hit on as much.I,m the type that insists on making the choice,and any girl that comes on to me I´m going to reject.So far I´m having no trouble getting one I want.

I luv it when the girls at Solarium line up across room and watch themselves samba in the mirror.

Billcink-- Good point about going to the termas when it is a little crowded to avoid being a target. When would you say is a good time to go? A Britney Spears look a like at the solarium, oh boy, you got my imagination running in overdrive, my level of anticipation for the trip just shot up a few notches. Can`t wait to hear about the Centurius, do you feel the higher prices are worth it? Others are saying equal quality at the other termas but fewer choices.

Fooledagain,Don't know if the Britney Spears look alike will be there when you get in.One thing is she didn't have the same great body but was very close in the face.Centurius was great.I don't know if you think it's worth the higher prices,but what you heard is about right.All I can say is that there were I lot of hot looking women in there last night.They wear these micro hot pants and a lot of them them look really good good in them.The one thing I didn't like was they had this Brazilian folk guitar player oogling these folk songs.Some of the locals seem to like him,but I just wanted to give him an overdose of narcotics.Maybe he won't be there when go.

Can you compare the selection at Solarium between weekdays and weekends as I never tried Solarium during the week?

Athos, I havn't been there on the weekend so I couldn't really tell you.The selection was fine the 2 times I was there though i just went with same one.My biggest complaint about the place was the size of the cabins.Kind of like having sex in a closet.There is only one suite there I was told so I had no choice,but to go in a cabin.I did talk to a guy today who was there last night(Sunday)and he said the selection was real good.

It,s New Years eve,and I,m told they'll be between 3 and 4 million people in the Copacabana Beach area tonight.Should be a blast.

So what was the New Years celebration like in Rio?

Youngtom, Lot of people.Fireworks over the bay for about 15 minutes.Help disco was mobbed.You could barely move in the place.I ended up just leaving.Bad thing about New years was a lot of the Termas were closed for the 3 day holiday.A couple were open Sunday but I didn´t go then.They all were closed Monday and tuesday.I checked out some other places but I just couldn´t seem to pull the trigger on anything.Oh well.Made up for it yesterday by going to 2 Termas.I´ll be posting my review of all the Termas I went to in the Termas section.

I love those termas; that must have hurt when you found out that they were closed. If a guy can do a couple of termas in the day/evening, then who needs Help.

I've heard the crowd watching the fire works over the bay is amazing.

Youngtom, It did hinder things a little but I tried to make up for it.I'm back home now and I'm having some problems with my PC.Eventually I'm going to be adding my reviews of the termas I visited.

I will in rio from January 12-19. This will be my first trip to this country and I would like to find out any info about the place. I have some good info about the massage parlors and night clubs. The one club I keep reading about is Barbarella. It is supposed to be great.

Any advice about spots to hit would be much appreciated.

Barbarella is about the most expensive places you will find in Rio, but still not very expensive compared to many other cities. A couple of blocks from there on Avenida Atlantica is Mabes cafe and you will find a lot of working chicas hanging out there in the afternoon and especially in the evening. In the evening the large sidewalk cafe in front of Help Disco has many many chicas. My top pick for a termos is L'Uomo, second floor of the Sequro Campos shopping Center. There is much information to be found on Rio at deja.com and in the Redsnake archives.

I'll be in Rio from the 20-27 of March. Will anybody else be there then? I'd like to get together and explore, have a few beers. Let me know.

Click throught the advisories that notify you that you are going to adult information and you'll get a slew of adult services. You'll note that some charge $R20, which is less than $10USD right now. There is a full range of prices. I've paid as low as $R20 and as high as $R100. There is no difference, to me anyway, in the quality of service or women.

There is maybe %5 to %10 that speak Italian. That is a better bet than English. As long as you speak Italian, it will be very easy for you to learn Portuguese. Get some tapes and give it a try. It will make your trip so much more enjoyable to be able to talk to these girls.

When I was in Rio, I was unsure how to handle the fact that I didn't speak any Portuguese. I waited too late to start learning any so I showed up not speaking a word of Portuguese. I really didn't find any women who spoke any English. Initially I asked a few if they spoke Spanish and none of them really would say that they spoke any Spanish but for some reason I just decided that I would start talking Spanish (I speak mediocre Spanish) and I seemed to have pretty good luck communicating in Spanish.

The R20 I paid is for a red light section downtown called Vila Mimosa. There is perhaps 300 or so women there in these alleyways that have bars in them. It is pretty much a locals place. You'll see quite a range of women here, though none of them will be dynamite beauties. However, there is a woman at www.hotside.com/carine.htm that quoted me R30 for a half hour and R50 for the hour. I went there. It was excellent service. It was in an apartment on Princess Isabell right across the street from the Meridien.

Wednesday & Sunday are swinger days at Solarium. There are still primarily mostly guys there on Wed/Sun but you see couples mingling with the guys. Occasionally the swingers pick off a guy & take him off to one of the suites. Sactoman - From looking at the website, my guess it that if you showed up with an escort that you wouldn't have a problem. The folks at the desk at Solarium speak pretty good English so just talking to them & asking whatever you are interested in would probably take care of any questions that you have.

Just got the latest Citibank/AAirlines awards sheet for the last part of the year. They always knock off 5k miles on selected destinations. This time they have Barbados, Bermuda, and St. Croix for 25k. Panama and Honduras for 30k. Frankfurt, Santiago, and Rio for 35k. Both Rio and Santiago are good from Oct 1 - Nov 30.
