This terma is probably the most well known terma in Rio. & the prices to get in reflect that. It will cost you an additional 50 reals more than the other termas to go here.

You also are going to see some of the best looking women that you are going to see in Rio here. The women here are all the classic Rio woman - young, slim, pretty face, nice ass, love sex etc.

I've had a number of great times here.

But I also had one miserable experience here where I was being assaulted by several women that I had not interest in.

The hustle here by the less attractive is annoying and constant. WilmaFlint has pointed out the reason why: if a woman doesn't average three customers a day (over what time period, he doesn't say), she's outta there.

During my trip of 9 days there we went to Centarus. It is true that there are alot of nice lookers there and the place really hops, but the hassel of having to run down to the desk to pay for every upgrade is really annoying and time wasting when the place is busy.
The rooms have paper thin walls such that the noise in the hall is very distracting to having a good time. All in all though, it is a good place, but so is Monte Carlo, Solarium, and Rio Antigo.

Close to Copacabana in Ipanema, 3 mn by taxicab.
Very expensive and annoying to have to pay upfront. No english.
Selection was impressive, arrived a bit too early but while at other places it takes me 30 to 45 mn to find my mate, here took me 5 mn then another 1 mn to decide on 3some.
450R for 2 garotas for 40 mn, I got Anita 9.0 in looks and Roberta perfect 10, conveniently amigas so had to stick my tongue out as both wanted to kiss me right away to complete deal.
I'd say 2/3 of garotas in 7 to 10 range.

Centaurus located in Ipanema is supposed to have the best lineup and is on the expensive side 290R for one 40 min garota plus cover charge. The place was nice with wood decor. The lineup was very good but not exceptional. Selection was in the 8 to 10 range with a couple of below average looking garotas. Accomodations were nice but not as nice as Rio Antigo, similar to Solarium. I liked the place and will return on my next time out. They are also open on Sat. Garotas were wearing the same outfit, short with some numbers, swim top, all with the same color motif. I did not find the garotas to be overly aggressive. Catered to locals and tourists.

As long as you run into a woman that you're interested in talking to then the "overly aggressive" hassle isn't an issue.

At this point, I've probably been to Centaurus 8 times. 6 times I left with the biggest smile that I've ever had in the world; loved the place. Twice I left pissed off because of women hassling the shit out of me in the bar. On one of those occasions I left prior to going to the room and since you pay in advance & there is not such thing as a refund in Brazil, it cost me $100 for 3 beers but I was happy to get the hell out of there.

With the new 290 reais price for foreigners, this is about 100 reais more than any of the other top 10 termas in Rio. You can have a great time here (and it is only a bit over 100 bucks) but it is pricey by Rio termas standards.

One final note about prices at Centaurus & then I'll move on. There is a "special" tax for foreigners that you have to pay (I believe that it was 20 reais when I was there); locals don't have to pay this. And tourists also have to pay up front and they can't get a refund.

That being said; generally that are lots of great looking women in there so if things work out you'll have a good time.

If you tell them that it is your first time at Centuarus, they generally give you a "guide". She'll show you where the shower is, the sauna, the lounge, the boite, and then hang out with you. Sometimes loosing this girl can be more difficult than you might think. I generally either tell them that I'm there to meet another girl or tell them that I want to spent some time in the sauna.

A very strange thing happened today. I am in town visiting with a lady that I met a Centarus last May. I must be very nice becuase I am owning paying for the hotel room. Also, she is going to Lima with me in two weeks for 6 days. The only cost there will be the place ticekt, food & drink, hotel etc.

Sunday, we were walking in the big Rio Sur shopping center Copabana / Leme. I had just gotten something to eat and we were looking for a place to sit, when she ran across two girl friends. It turrns out that one of her girl friends was Jessica. Jessica was the first lady that I saw at Centarus almost 2 years ago. The other girl works as Centarus now, but Jessica does not.

The interesting thing is that Jessica does not work at Centarus now. She works at Barbarella. On listening tow them talk, it turns out that business is really down at Centarus. The raising of prices, economy in the states with less people traveling, and other factors has really reduced traffic in Centarus. This lack of traffic there may be one of the reasons many of the people in this board complain about pressure from the ladies there. What would you do if the traffic is down. I did not visit any place on this trip because I did not have to, but the lady I am with is complaining about the lack of business there right now also.

Anway, Jessica says that she is much happier working at Barbarella. She picks her own hours, works what day she wants, and if I understand correctly, does not have to give a cut to the house.

From what I can tell, there is a real pressure from the management on the ladies to produce. They have to work a least 8 hrs a day, it is hard for them to take time off, etc.

Maybe, for a more relaxed visit, there may just be better places to go now then Centarus.

My experience with ex Centaurus ladies is that none of them liked working there for whatever reason.

Canonperdido.... On my one and only visit to Centaurus, it was much as it is now described (pressure wise), and that was duiring more economicaly favorable (at least for the Brazileras - R$175 to $US100) times a couple years back.

This hard time may persuade Centaurus management to drop the prices, way too expensive....

Out of all the termas this one seems to inspire the most debate.Most of the debate seems to be about the price and whether or not it's worth it.I tried it on the Saturday before New Years,and I have to say I liked it.Expensive for a termas but IMHO the best selection.I can see why the guys with money to burn won't go anywhere else.Maybe other guys are more fussy than me on looks but I felt like I was sitting in the middle of a playmate reunion.Some really hot looking garotas.The one I chose wasn't the hottest but still very pretty.I gave her the finger test to check her out(Finger up to her lips)and she started sucking it and took it all the way in her mouth.Yep.My kind of girl.She turned out to be very oral.My biggest problem with her was to get her to stop going down on me.It was a wonderful problem to have.So I have to say I had a real good time there.The one thing I didn't like was this Brazilian folk guitar guy that was on stage.It seemed so out of place to me but some of the locals liked him.I found out later that he's just there on Saturdays so I know what night not to go.As far the on going debate on whether or not its worth the extra money I think thats just a personal call.I think its fine for a once a trip splurge,hell just for the eye candy.At the same time I agree that you can find a garota just as pretty somewhere else.There just won't be as many really hot ones.

That is kinda interesting that 1/2 are married. I'd expect a lot more than half to be either divorced and/or single but what do I know. I won't be be surprised if most of them had kids (although few of them look like it; always lots of lookers in there).

It might not be quite half, but 35 or 40 are. Jobs in Rio are hard to get, and I guess that wives are expected to do anything they can to help. I don´t think I would let my wife work that way, but it sort of tells you how hard life can be there.

Others are students, divorces, anything you can guess.

I have got this great map of Rio so I will try to give some directions for those interested in reaching terma in a more adventurous way besides taxicab.
Centaurus is nicely located in Ipanema, from Help you can catch a taxicab for 3 to 4R. But how about a leisurely stroll, looks like 10 min. From Help just walk west towards the end of of Copa for about 5 blocks, make a right on Rua Francisco, Rua Francisco becomes Rua Gomes Carneiro then Rua Caning will be on your left hand side, Centaurus will be 20 yards on your left.
Centaurus is expensive but worth at least 1 run just to check that superior lineup.

Volfan, question for you or for anyone who knows. What is the finger test?

Was is Centarus last week. Garotas there are complaining that many of them are not able to service clients now because there are too few of them. Maybe, a good economist would say, this is just supply and demand. At the Centarus prices, things are too high so there are no clients.

Had two stops at Centarus, a bit overpriced but still the best selection. I prefer Luomo, Solarium then Centaurus.
I didn't find the garotas too aggressive.
Selection is pretty good from avg to very pretty but no 10. Very young lineup.
Tried a Gabriella, bit bigger but well proportioned, pretty face with perfect teeth and lips. Looks 8.0, very good in bed but not sensational.
Followed next day with 3some with Gabriella and loira Sharon, 9.0, perfect body with C cup but I did not like her upper lip and jaw line but incredible body with C cup.
I noticed 1 or 2 other gorgeous morenas so will have to come back this week.
