I have been pleasantly surprised with L'uomo on my last two trips... In fact, it seems to stand out as my most memorable terma visit, last I was in Rio.

I think it was a Sunday eve (only L'uomo and Solarium are open on Sundays), but the mood was about as relaxed as a terma can get... No, I would'nt rate the overall quality of the garotas over any of the more heralded termas, but there were a couple that would melt your shorts...

The bartender was/is actually an Aussie, and one of the waiters English - thus making communication just that much easier, in all regards.

They had what I now surmise to be the dreaded local act (a two piece musical combo), but that only added to the informality of the occasion as the garotas regularly barged in on their act...

Anyway, my mind was set on one particular Loira (rare for me)whom looked as though she would surely be named prom queen in any Kansas metropolis... Uhhnn, nevermind....

Oh yeah, L'uomo definitely has the best relaxation room.

Luomo is located right in the middle of Copa, actually maybe less than 5 min from Monte Carlo, a good 20 min walk from Help, walk 6 blocks along Ave Atlantica, make left at Rua Siqueira Campos, 5 blocks later to your right in shopping mall. You will pass by unfinished metro stop. Maybe someone can confirm? Check their web site for better direction.

Since uwphoto gave L'Uomo a bad review in his report, I'll admit to being there in mid-March. Sadly, I have to concur with uwphoto. It was dead; handful of women and hardly any guys. I used to reserve Saturday night for their feijoda night, but the first one was so dead, I didn't bother going to the following one. Nor did I go to their 22nd aniversario festa, even though their aniverario festas in the past were good. In late December/earlyJanuary, I thought L'Uomo was on an upswing. It had many women and also new and younger faces, and there were a lot of guys. It's funny how things can change in two months.

Five women, who were at L'Uomo in early January, were at Monte Carlo in March. One of L'Uomo's landmark women was even there. I label her landmark because she's been at L'Uomo for as long as I've been going there--Wilco, you know who the loira is. I asked her why she left L'Uomo, and she gave me the thumbs down sign. However, she also expressed great saudade for L'Uomo, so I expect her to go back there soon.

Speaking of Monte Carlo, it had 30-40 women a night, when I was there. Nearly twice as many than they had in January. With the exception of 5-7, all were different from my previous trip. In late December/early January, I thought Monte Carlo was on a downswing; now it appears to be on an upswing. Marcio, the manager, said it's a seasonal thing. I suspect there's more to it than that. At best, there still was only one or so 8, but I enjoy myself there.

What can we learn by all of this? I guess that we can only expect another reversal of fortunes for the two termas by June....Or can we?

I had trouble locating monte carlo even with a map and the address. That's why I ended up at L'uomo. Any hints?

uwphoto: You were soooo close to Monte Carlo. A five minute walk separates L'Uomo and Monte Carlo. L'Uomo is on Rua Siqeira Campos. The street parallel to Rua Siqueira Campos towards Sugarloaf is Rua Hilario Gouveia. Walk down Rua Hilario Gouveia towards the beach; a half block past the park is Monte Carlo (an alternative description is: Monte Carlo is in the middle of the last block before hitting Avenida Atlantico and the beach). I think there is a "21" in front of the building, if not also "Monte Carlo." As Citydude mentions, next door to Monte Carlo on the beach side is a hotel.

Thanks. Next time I'm going to try to survey as many of the termas' so that I can compare facilities and prices. The talent is always moving, but L'uomo will be at the bottom of my list. Solarium, Centaurus, and 4x4 are near the top.

I agree...Maybe the best if you select before 5pm...I did and paid R120 or R140!!! They waived the entrance fee I guess if you pick one before 5.

I love 4X4, they got some great quality females in there. Plus if you take a girl before 5pm, they waive the entrance fee of 30R. Alot of brasilian guys go after work so it can get a little crowded, but many of them are there just to grab some ass and eat the free food. I prefer the crowd because it gives me a chance to observe the action without having to fend off the advances from a girl who I am not interested in.

I agree the the selection was nowhere near as good as other places, but the double I did with Bea and I think her name was Vanessa, was in my top 3 Rio experiences.

I'll always go to L'Uomo early in a trip to test its waters. (1) I've had too many good times there to give up on it already. (2) In the past, I've enjoyed very much their feijoada Saturdays and aniversario and various other festas. And (3) I usually stay in an apartamento or hotel close to it, making it a very convenient stop.

However, during the March trip I stayed at the end of Avenida Atlantico on the edge of Arpoador. Being this far away from L'Uomo made it that much more easier for me to skip it on this trip. However, like Carina, I have saudade for L'Uomo.

I forgot to add the day I went there was Saturday (feijoada day, and yes it was great) and the massage lady was Awesome. She really gave me a much needed day 9 ass kicking.
