The girls would start at R$ 250 and then go down to R$ 200 or 150. I was surprised at the low rates. Unfortunately, I missed writing down more phone numbers.

Last November, to my dismay the lineup was very average at Barbarella. There was one gorgeous loirinha, the rest was same old, same old.
It helps to speak Portuguese as you will need to negotiate. Best is to window shop and go with a garota who does not have a hard stance. Take your time as not many customers, they are all at Help. I never speak in US dollars. I offer 250R, remember you have to pay 100R plus tips for cover and bar fine. Girls who are not willing to go for 250R are not worth a shot imho. You will see middle tier Barb girls ply their ware at Help later in the evening. If they don't go for 200R at Help, they would starve. I think key is to be cool and show you are used to fuck beautiful women every day in your life so one more or one less, it does not matter to you. Garota has to understand that 250R is no chump change. In November, Help had more hotties than Barbarella. Expect short time from 99% garotas at Barbarella. I was ushered in and given a seat to myself with a small table in the back.

About the peak hour in Barbarella, it is earlier than in most other boates. It gets busy before 11:00 PM, probably because it caters to business types that have work to do the next morning. Also, some of the best girls are taken early, so if you arrive at midnight (which, as you say, is pretty early to Rio standards), you may have already missed the top acts.
