As a public service to my brothers, I'm starting this thread for posting information about, and hopefully pictures of, garotas in Rio who have engaged in unsavory behavior (we're not taling about sex here: stealing, drugging, violence, bailing out before providing agreed-upon services, etc. This is not the place to post about a girls who has simply given a lousy performance (RTFs) but rather to identify those who truly act in bad faith.

I'll open with a picture of Isabella Monteiro. Isabella was quite excellent in the hotel room, but tried to leave with my digital camera in hand. I awoke as she closed my door, and called the hotel desk and had them hold her. The hotel called the police and it turned out this was not her first theft. She claimed that the camera was hers but I was able to describe the photos to the police and she could not, including photos of me with about 6 other garotas and of Isabella enjoying my pocket rocket. The police were amused but Isabella was not.

Isabella works out of Help, but just sporadically. I've never seen her out at the Terraço; she always heads right inside.

I am glad you had your witts and noticed your camera gone. I hate thieves myself. Just out of curiosity what is going to happen to Isabella? Small fine? Probation? jail?

She probably bribed her way out of it (the main consequence of involvement with the Brasilian criminal justice "system"). Forgot to mention that she left without my paying her, thinking (I guess) that my camera would be worth more than the agreed upon fee. So I ended up with a freebie to boot.

My other advice is NEVER do drugs with your HO. They use the drug state of mind to steal from you. They are pros and you´ll only notice hours later.

Heard a couple of other stories today about other guys getting drugged and robbed. May be the latest fashion trend in Rio for getting money from guys.

Just be careful with those drinks in your room. Keep them in your hand or pour them out if you forget.

Too many pharmacies with easy access to things that can put us to sleep. They do seem to only be taking money and valuables they can sell/fence leaving credit cards (and pissed gringos)behind.

I now have a lockable storage cabinet for stuff and have hidden other stuff in locked suitcases.

Just be on your guard and remember to do the smart things when taking a garota to your room.

The less they can see and the more difficult to get out of your room, the less likely they are to steal anything.

Other than that, you will still probably be having the best sex of your life here!

I don't know of anything else that is safe, though the samsonite stuff comes in a distant second (is the samsonite stuff kitchen-knife proof? The safe is hacksaw-proof). Only way to get into the safe is a top grade thief, or if they torture you to get the number (damn!)

Where do you buy your safes?

Here is a woman to be avoided at all costs. Her name is Julia and hangs out all the time at the Terranco. One night, with a bunch of guys in attendance, she attaches herself to my buddy and declares him to be the "Richard Gere" to her "Julia Roberts," ala the movie "Pretty Woman." She even went so far as singing the Roy Orbison classic to "Richard."

Being a VERY nice guy, he firmly but politely informed her that he was not interested. Undiscouraged, she offered "Richard" a freebie. Fortunately, for him, he declined.

Well, this scene plays out a couple more times at the Terraco. I am almost ashamed to admit that I (and all the guys hanging out with us) found the whole ordeal EXTREMELY amusing, to the point where everytime we saw her coming, we would all start singing "Pretty Woman." She loved it. "Richard" grew less and less amused since she was quite annoying and hindered his attempts to find other companionship.

FINALLY, on the third or fourth night, "Richard" could stand no more and asked her to leave the table. She refused, claiming that it was her country. After threatening to ask the waiter to tell her to leave, she walked off (after ordering and drinking a beer for which she wouldn't pay).
