What I like about the bars in Colombia... In general, they have brighter lights inside the clubs, and music that is not as loud. I'm sure you can imagine why... These women are gorgeous, and brighter lighting only enhances the view!
Also many of these women are educated. A good percentage of the ones that I have spoken with were college students. They are great conversationalists and I never once heard any of them use foul language... Another odd thing that occured several times, was when making a first introduction, the woman will often give you her full name...

Sounds excellent ... is it Cartagena or all of Columbia? Are the chicas generous with their time? The problems in Columbia are a discouraging, but it is on my list because of the frequent comments about the women.
By Pacifico on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 - 10:35 am: Edit |
I have not yet been to all of the major cities, but from what I have seen, the women are beautiful just about everywhere...
In bogota, you will find women from every major city in Colombia. It is like a "sampler plate" of women... I will definately would not recommend traveling in colombia unless you have at least an intermediate level of spanish..
I've gone for several days without seeing another american.. With the proper precautions, I consider Colombia a safe destination...
I sink into a blissful daydream every time I am
reminded of Colombia...
Last time I met a woman who I believed was one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen... We hit it off really well, and she asked me if I had enough time in my vacation plans to go back to her home town and meet her family... Sadly enough, I didn't have the time since my departure flight was two days away at the time she asked me..

In Cali Colombia, you can go to the discos on Avenida Sexta to meet the Ladies. I don't know whether it is true or not but one Lady told me there are 7 women to every man in Cali. Ask the cab driver for the "Geisha". This is a love hotel that costs 46,000 pesos (about $23) for 8 hours. It has nice bed, cable TV, and so forth.
By Pacifico on Wednesday, June 06, 2001 - 09:07 pm: Edit |
I have heard that in Colombia overall, there is
about 44% men and 56% women... I believe that Cali has the highest ratio of women to men, but I would guess that it would be about 2 to 1 at most... Perhaps even that could be a bit too high. The fact is that many men are killed for different reasons, and the rest find a way to illegally imigrate elsewhere. Most people in Colombia know of a family member or a friend who has been murdered. It is no wonder that you go there and beautiful women surround you, hoping for a chance that you will give them a better life.
Colombia is a country that facinates me.. The overwhelming majority of people are very kind, and there are some of the most beautiful women that can be found... Also there are many beautiful places that you can visit that are almost completely void of american tourists. What more could you ask for?

You are certainly right. I dated a Columbian
girl for a while and she was beautiful and
physically gifted and rapidly learned Engish.
She also had a great enthusiasm and zest for
life and also loved physical activity...

One of the hardest things I've had to do was come back to the states on June 21, after 16 blissful days in Colombia.
They had to wrench my fingers from the doorframe in Aparta del Rio Hotel in Cali. All I can add to what you guys are saying is that Cali is well-known as "the cleavage capital" of Colombia.
And, cleavage is good. So are the skin-tight pants they love to wear.
Apart from their incredible faces and bodies, the Colombianas have such sweet dispositions, grace, and fortitude in the face of dismal daily life. It's really hard to keep from falling in love with them even while your lusting after them.
Paradise.....

Warm, happy, pretty women everywhere.... anxious to meet an American guy. Wow! It sounds almost too good to be true. I can't wait for my first trip there in August.

I was recently in Colombia and had the pleasure of visiting Villa Vicencio, approximately one hour and a half from Bogata. The ratio of women to men averaged about five to one, but for anyone looking remotely 'gringo' you almost had to beat the women off with a stick. Although there are numerous brothels and strip clubs, there is really little reason to frequent these establishments because the girls in the normal locations are so friendly. Wednesday night is ladies night in AguaPanela's, Thursday night is really big at the clubs around the university, and Friday night is big at Carpacho's. Saturday night is huge at all the clubs, including Chingadas. One of the best brothel/strip clubs is called Pasarela, where the girls work independently and you normally negotiate a price with them and go to one of the drive thru hotels, although in my experience if the girl likes you and expects a relationship she will not even charge you.

Does anyone know anything about obtaining a tourist Visa for a colombiana girlfriend to the US? My girl is a doctor in Colombia, well-to-do and does not have any other reason to stay in US but for being with me...so would it be hard to get a visa for her???
By Gator on Saturday, December 07, 2002 - 07:38 am: Edit |
Maybe maybe not. If she can prove strong ties to Colombia i.e. Money in the bank, family, professional ties(the MD. will help here) Be sure to stress tourism(Walt Disney World in Orlando seems to work very well) Process should take about three months and is done throgh the embassy in Bogotá. SHE will have to do all the work. Remember, the embassy personnel automatically assume everyone is going to remain here and treat them accordingly.

Gentlemen,
If any of you have recent info on safety isues in Colombia to share, it would be great. Especially on mid-sized cities like Pereira, Bucaramanga, etc. I imagine that Cali, Mesellín y Bogotá are status quo.
Thanks!

Yo! Colombia lovers, many of your experiences are fantasy like (in the good way) that I have explored my own possibilities of giving Colombia a visit. I know enough about Colombia that it has awaken my imagination just thinking how it will be to live there for a few weeks or even a couple of months.
I want to take advatange of two things that are present in my life. I'm single and I'm unemployed. So without wasting any of your precious time, let me ask you about any gringo volunteering programs you might have heard about going to Colombia? Simon? E-mail me at Jarocho48@hotmail.com or respond here.

The slim one is nice..I heard there is not much action in Cartagena recently because of massive crackdowns fom the Mayor....is this picture from a recent trip? If so, please post a report on all of your current findings...seems like you ahd a good time...are these girls from a casa or teh beach?
By Whitecat on Friday, August 29, 2003 - 04:07 am: Edit |
There is no slowdown. More than anyone can handle. These girls are from a club. The Dolce Vita. They cost 32 dollars each. all night. Will be there 3 weeks soon. There was some talk of the mayor being religious or something, but the casas and the beach both rock. I only hit 20% of what was available last time. Also the girls tend to be younger here. Be careful.

Tom, read all the previous Columbia stuff - trip reports and more importantly the discuss threads, there's much to learn.
Expensive? You've got to be kidding! Colubia is flat out cheap.
Dangerous? Not if you do it right.

tom,
what is yous budget, what type of rooms are you confortable in and where do you plan to go? I can put you onto some local hotels that will run between 20/30USD but it will depend upon your tasts.
By Batman on Thursday, October 09, 2003 - 01:32 pm: Edit |
You can find hotels rooms for that price 20US, but don't expect modern furniture, hot water or daily breakfeast...
By Hunter on Friday, October 10, 2003 - 06:11 am: Edit |
Having visited Pattaya many times, I know that you can get good quality rooms for approx $10 a day.
You will not find rooms any where near that quality for $10 a day in Cartagena.
A room of roughhly the same quality as a 300 Baht room will cost you approx $35-$40 in Cartagena.
There are a few very small hotels dotted around Cartagena for approx $25, which are reasonable quality, but unfortunatly I can't remember their names.
How long do you plan on staying in Cartagena? I would do one of two things, depending on your length of stay, take an apartment OR move into a $35 hotel for a day and check out the cheaper hotels and on the 2nd day move to one of those.
For most of the year hotel rooms are easy to find in Cartagena, but sometimes they are full and are more expensive, like at Christmas and Miss Colombia.
When do you plan on visiting Cartagena.

Anyone been to San Andreas?
I might put together a last minute trip for next week, and I need to know if I should expect to be able to walk-up and find a nice-enough hotel (with A/C) available.
Thanks!

FLmonger, I almost went to San Andres and did a lot of research but then had change of plans. Anyway, here is the link where I made my reservations via my amiga. Everything was included in the price, hotel, food, drinks, tips, etc. I think it is a great deal. My amiga has been there many times and has a lot of information. These are all inclusive resorts, you pay for one and you can stay in 4-5 resorts.

On San Andres there are 3 brothels, Tomas, White Elephant, and one other. Also a strip club, Monte Carlo, in all four places are mainland Colombian girls.
Hope this helps

Really Enricos? I will be staying for 3 weeks in San Andres w/ a different non-pro girl each week <grin> - Anyway, I have about 1 night each week that I will be alone while one girl flies out and the other one flies in. I plan on staying at the Decameron franchise...any suggestions? I know this is low season - so, can I just change hotels whenever I want?

Hey Batman -
Where's the Medellin Report? I'm waiting for the photos of the girls you were going to bang for $40 all night.
I was hoping to get some of your fresh on-the-ground info for my Labor Day trip, but alas, no report from you and now I'm back in NYC, my second Medellin trip under my belt.
San Andreas? I'm planning on taking a girl there over Thanksgiving. Will you have any info for the board by then?
Thanks!!!

Hunter,
No, not at all. <Grin>
Just a friendly query as to why the boasts about "having game" and being able to score girls for $40 in Medellin haven't been substantiated in a report with proof positive photos.
Oh, all right - you see right through me. I'm being a sarcastic, antagonistic bastard - as I usually am when my first impressions are confirmed.
Easier to talk the talk than to walk the walk, for some. <Smirk>

WS - LOL You guys are so funny!!! This is why I have been addicted to this board for many years now.
WS - I had to postpone my trip to MDE for 2 months due to business obligations back home. However, I plan on stopping by MDE after San Andres if I can ever get Roberto to return my e-mails regarding his apartment/Penthouse or even the other guy who claims to be working with him.
Anyway, I have to sit back and laugh about that comment I made - I'm sure I will be paying mor ethan 40 bucks for a looker in Face Dos - however, I most certainly will not go for the first or even 3rd price they quote. I ussullay giev in by my 4th attempt at negotiating and sweet talking -
Got game?

I have no hobby info to provide, as I was with a gf 24/7.

Ok - maybe I'm being a nervous Nelly Here - however here is a situation I'm interested in hearing comments about:
In December 2003, during my 12 days stay in Cali, I stayed at a private house with other mongers who upset the local (American/Colombia) host/hostess because they were bringing girls to the house who may have been underage (alhough no sex ever took place - just dancing with loud music).
Anyway, they were pretty upset because one of the guys (don't know him) was into black girls and really brings this obvious Puta girl (age late 20's) to the house, and in return we all get thrown out of the house w/ threats from them to call the police and report that we were doing illegal things by whore mongering and under age prostitution and that I was pimping girls LOL(had to laugh) and they would report me immediately. Bullshit I say, but nonetheless, we were asked to leave w/loud screams and threats of Police reports.
I did nothing wrong, nor did any of the guys I was with, but this does concern me since I know nothing of Colombia law. BTW, the girls we were with were not even pros.
I stayed in Cali 4 days after that, and Colombian police never came looking for me at my hotel for this. However, could it be possible that I may encounter problems entering Colombia next month about this incident in 2003? I will be entering by way of Bogota and not Cali. Could it be that she/he were making threats to get us to pay our final days that we had reserved already?
Could this all be Bullshit and I have nothing to worry about and can continue the hobby in Colombia?
I am confident that I did nothing wrong and hate to feel guilty over nothing!
By Hunter on Monday, September 20, 2004 - 05:33 am: Edit |
I doubt that there will be a problem Batman.
Hunter
By Gator on Monday, September 20, 2004 - 07:56 am: Edit |
Personally, to Batman, never underestimate the DAS. Remember, if you show up on the computer check upon entry, cuidado! The question is, would you be detained? Look at it this way-if you were stopped for a traffic violation in the USA and a NCIC check showed a warrent for a bad check or petty larceny would you be arrested? Bet you ass.
By Batman on Monday, September 20, 2004 - 12:15 pm: Edit |
That is true Gator. However, since there is no hard evidence of any wrong doing from any of us except just threats, I figure I would be fine. Also, they (the hosts) did not have my passport ID or anything except my name. Lastly, sicne this is Colombia and not US - I'm sure that DAS is only interested in wether or not I overextended my Visa or there were drugs involved - neither was the case.
I guess I am being just a nervous Nelly after all.
Had to pot this just to at least make me feel at ease again.

Who was the american host....how'd he end up with the Colombian hostess?
My bet is this is an ignorant/innocent guy who met a girl on an internet dating site...and the woman wants to keep her guy ignorant.
As prositution is legal, is seems that their overreaction might have more to do with each other than with you.
By Batman on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 - 12:05 pm: Edit |
Ejack - Prostitution is NOT legal in Colombia! The situation is such that local cops are paid "bacunas" (bribes) to look the other way from brothels. And also paid "bacunas" to not harrass clients or prostitues doing such business.
The source of my information is directly from a District Attorney I now know in Colombia.
Well...You may be right about the Colombiana woman trying to keep her Gringo ignorant.
Regardless, I just got off the phone with the District Attorney I mentioned above (she is a novia of a buddy of mine here in the states)
She said that it was ludicrous to try to file charges against someone for alledgedly pimping out girls to foreigners and owning a brothel w/o concrete statements from the so-called girls, and several patrons.
She also said that if there was any charges to be made, they should come from me to teh local hostess for attempting to slander my name, and filing slandering statements w/o evidence.
Lastly, I think I was just worried since the last thing I want is a vacation in paradise ruined because I did not watch my back over a threat made some time ago, regardless of how small. I am after all in a foreign country and I try to keep my nose clean if nothing else <g>
Thx for your patience reading this post everyone!
Colombia is in my future once again.
Case closed!
