Yesterday 4/21 was Tiradentes, a national holiday.

And today, 4/23 is a holiday. Dia do Sao Jorge, the patron saint of Rio de Janeiro. Everything in centro is closed.

I thought I saw a listing of Brazilian holidays somewhere--where is that posted?

Every day in Brasil is a holiday. Brasil has more celebrations. Hell, they have days when they celebrate for no reason at all. Today the sky is blue, the beach is fantastic, I think it is a holiday. Hell with work. I am going down to the praia and find me a garota. This is the carioca mentality. At least this is what my girlfriend tells me. I am beginning to believe it judging from meeting her friends going and partying for just about any reason. Work is secondary, celebrating is No 1. Put that holiday calendar away.

Termas don't open and close on a whim. Some of them are quite serious about being to work on time -- or else.

Was in 4X4 this Tuesday, April 27 and the last Terma run before leaving on April 30th. The selection was about the same as when I was here in January. Not a word of the rumored "quarantine girls". I don't know whether this info is old or not but I went to 4X4 just this last Thursday and was told that the price went up. I think the entry still remains at R$30. But the R$130 (40 min.) and R$150 (1 hour) before 5:00PM went up to R$140 and R$160. R$10 increase.

There are still many ladies here but I would have to rate the selection average at best. Selection was best for me during the high season.

There are a new pair of twins working here(hopefully not for long as I complained to the manager). Their names are Grazieli and Gaby. They were my worst session ever (by Rio standards and perhaps even by TJ standards).
