Just came back from my first trip to 4x4. I tried my best to get there earlier but could not get out of a meeting I had this afternoon in Centro. It's just a different bar. They have the strip shows in there, same as the main bar and the whyskeria, and they sometimes have some live music back there. Other than that it's just a quiet place to sit and relax for a while.

There really is nothing to it. However, I have been a huge fan for a few years now. We all know that the main boite is crowded far beyond comfort. I like to grab a whore who I plan to bring upstairs and take her first the the VIP bar for some foreplay. This has actually become an important part of my newer MO since I am forced to try and stretch this shitty dollar much further than I needed to in the past. Quick question, I'm about to liftoff to Rio in a couple days and was going to head straight to 4x4. How is the selection early in the afternoon before 5? I'm trying to avoid the "sea of white robes" that happens when guys get off work in centro, but am hoping I don't have to sacrifice on that delicious 4x4 quality!

Well, you have garotas coming in every hour until 6:00 PM or so, so if you want to interview, you will have your pick of the early 3 waves or so. Maybe some of the 5:00 PM garotas come in a bit early. Personally, I always have a list of pre-interviewed garotas that I plan on doing in a given week or X number of visits, so if I get down there in time, have some time to relax in the bar first, and she's there and it's around 5:00 PM, I'll go on up. But, I wouldn't just throw a key to a garota I didn't know just to save 40 Reals.

So, interview plenty on your first day, do a program whenever on the first day, then if you want on the second and following days you have your to-do list.

Always nice to get there a little early say around 4:00/5:00 see what you like and do a little interviewing up in the VIP lounge and see if the chemistry is there? With regard to "getting a phone number," I have to say that you are far better off sessioning with a girl BEFORE you ask for her phone number. These girls have to be there 40 or 50 hours per week. If they're standing around with nothing going on and every guy is asking for outside action, she's going to get a little pissed and not show up. If you session with her first, she trusts you more and will have an eye on keeping you coming back to her.

Frogmaster, I would suggest if you are going to go early (like 2-3pm) to hit the downstairs whiskeria first. I think pants and non-flipflop shoes are required. The entrance is only 20R and they transfer your bartab to the main boite and split the difference main bar entrance of 40R if you chose to do so. But, if it gets to be after 5pm the entrance is still 20R and you don't have to rush your selection. I personally like the service there too and no brushing into manflesh either. The only downside is about 6pm or so, the good girls don't go down there unless you request them. It is a good place to just relax, girls come down every so often and once they know you are gringo more girls will come down. Making it "known" you are a gringo is a good thing in 4x4. They know that at least 80% of us take a girl up, whereas it is the opposite with brasilieros 80% don't.

(I actually think entrance now may be 50R instead of 40R. I forget if that was the case last month).

Had a big bulleye painted on my forehead after an extended absence from 4X4 this last Friday. Everyone was asking me for a tip - quite amusing. If they worked there, they asked for a tip :-) At least three of the waitress inside the boite asked me for a tip. They must be getting it, otherwise they wouldn't be asking for it. Sorry, but I did not tip anyone..... The sessions with the girls were outstanding, however and the girls didn't hassle me for drinks.

The waitstafff in the whiskeria is pretty good (at least for me) and I do give them 10% service tip. BTW, I think one of waitresses is fairly good-looking and I wished she programmed.
I give Sylvia the locker attendant 2R's tip every single time. That is all I tip in any termas. I even refuse to pay the service bar fee at Luomo.

However, I had noticed a trend the cleaning ladies hanging outside the rooms wanting a tip. I always just completely ignore them -- whether I tip them or not it isn't going to make my experience better or worse in my opinion.

Went again last night. Took Patricia to the Rei Suite....in the business and working there 3 days now. The place is better than I've ever seen it. The only shower head that I found where you can get hot water was the third shower in the closed shower room next to the dry sauna.

Getting economic advice from CFK or Jag is the equivalent of financial suicide. For girls, yes 4X4, for razors L'Uomo is rei, twin blade Gillettes.

They have a new 4% charge added to your bill at this place if you are using any kind of credit card or debit card. Unbelievable! Not sure if it is a test run or what, but they are telling everyone this when you first get your key so you can't complain later.

After a couple of years off, I started going back to Brazil last year when the Dollar recovered a bit. Last year about this time, this place was 160R for 40 min, and now it's 190R for the same thing. Not only that, they shrank the size of the water bottle (yeah I noticed) by a third, for the same price of course. A can of beer cost a Real more (or is that MC?). May seem like nothing, because you are slowly lulled into accepting it, but the inflation is out of control. I'm becoming more and more like a Brasilian in these places.... shoot one off before hand, then just go in and play grab ass and leave. Guess I'm going to have to head back to SEA.

Iggy, the razors at MC are the cheap dual-blade disposable domestic ones. I would not recommend using them. Then again, Corto seems to cut himself with any type of razor, cheap or expensive, good quality or poor quality.

Arellius, other Rio termas like MC and Solarium still want you to pay the girl's fee in cash. Think of it this way, if you had to go to an ATM they charge a fee of 8R (so for a 200R, that would be a 4% fee).

Entrance (of 40R) is still waived before 5pm. And the whiskeria is 20R.

Rio hasn't seen really cheap prices for quality pussy for 4-5 years now. If you want cheap, stick to SEA. But, many guys have never had a bad session in 4x4. It is still one of the safer and consistent establishments for a good time (and P4P girls).

If you want really cheap (like 20R), you only have to walk 1 block down to Buenos Aires 85. I think Skols are also only 1R there. Lots of budget places within a couple of blocks of 4x4.

Btw, I'm not one of those SEA douche bags on this board that always downs Brazil, even though they've never been. I love it. I love both locations.

I understand the business decision behind it... they get dinged for providing debit/credit service, but it doesn't take away from my point. It's run away inflation. (I haven't even mentioned the metro)

Don't you think the 30R they have increased the price of a 40 minute session in the last year might cover some of the cost of a debit/credit transaction? You can argue that they are just trying to catch up with the other termas in Copa, but that's a separate argument. The fact of the matter is, every time I have ever been in this place, it's 90% Brazilian, and if they keep going up on price, even fewer of them are going to go upstairs. This one is much more reliant on Brazilian clientel than the others, so I don't get it. I know the average one doesn't have more money than I do.

As for guys not having a bad session in there, with respect, you haven't talked to enough guys. Plenty of times I've heard "so how was she?" followed by "huhhhh, ok I guess, but nothing special." Will you do her again? ... "no". It's a myth that all Brazilian women in these termas are good. They aren't.

Arellius, I was in 4x4 the past several weeks. Other than the couple of weeks Italianos flock to Rio, it was very disproportionate Brasilieros to Gringos. Your approximation of 90% is pretty close to what I would say.

Though it is worldwide Economic slide, the fact is Brasilians are actually doing better now than say 2-3 years ago. And my understanding is the most recent 10R hike in programs (180-190;200-210) went entirely to the house and not to the girls. Keep in mind this place operates in the "gray" area of the law, so those profits are not going directly into the owners' hands.. Considering no place even comes close to this in the U.S. w/o a huge price, I am okay with a little inflation.

Contrary to what you might think, Brasilians do spend money in 4x4. If you go there after the 5th of month (when most get paid), say on a Wed/Thurs and around 11-12pm you will see guys with huge drink tabs and programs on the bill too. Bills in the 500-700R range, certainly more than I would want to spend there. Some of the girls they take up to the room look horrendous to me as well, but when a guy is drunk, horny and just got paid then not much is going to stop him from being stupid.

I don't doubt guys have bad sessions in there. But, percentage-wise it is low if you interview correctly. Just a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine came down and said he had a girl that was a complete waste of money. I sat with him and watched the attitude of the girl -- I thought her attitude was shit. I told him not to take her because of this, but he didn't want to listen saying he loved that she was only 19 y.o. and a newbie to doing programs (< 1 month). He didn't bother interviewing her at all and immediately gave his key over to her.

For me personally, my rate of success at 4x4 exceeds any other termas or venue in Rio (including agencies, apartments, freelancers, etc.). Besides, I also think 4x4 is fun just to go and hang out. It is pretty much the only termas that offers the "party" atmosphere.

BUT, I disagree with "the fact is Brasilians are actually doing better now than say 2-3 years ago". I have lived in Brazil for a few years now, have family in Sao Paulo, many friends in both Rio and Sao Paulo, and while the Brazilian economy might be doing good the majority of Brazilians are really not that much better off. The pricing at most "top tier" termas like 4x4 are out of reach for the majority of Brazilians. There are many inside that are simply hanging out with their friends, not because they want, but because they do not have the cash to go upstairs.

Planning any get together with a group of average Brazilians requires inexpensive places. I recall many a get togethers falling apart because people cannot afford a place that costs R$20 - R$30 to enter.....that is the reality of the majority.

The rich get richer.....that part certainly is true!

I would like to see the stats on how many Brazilians guys actually session in that place, and how many actually even buy more than a couple of beers, before leaving. While I don't doubt that there are some high rolling Brazilians as Cinco describes, they are definitely the minority. Next time you are in this place spend some time just watching who actually goes up. You will very rarely see a Brazilian under 35 going up. Its mostly the older guys with money doing it. Yes, there are exceptions, but sometimes I wonder if those exceptions are even Brazilians because I can't tell sometimes. They could be Portuguese. Honestly, I can't tell them apart sometimes.

All of those 20 something Brazilian guys coming in together in groups of 3s and 4s .... they aren't fucking. These guys don't have any money to be wasting on that type of expense no matter what time of the month it is.

The younger guys are mostly cops and since they don't pay admission, they're getting the best bar deal in town. Decent prices on beers and liquor, and all the free ass grabbing they can get away.

The brasilians do program, they just tend to do it later at night. It also tends to be the guys who come in later - not the cops who get in there between 4 and 6 and basically do nothing but take up space and try and act tough to each other, it's the quieter, old guys who are coming in well after six who are pretty much like Americans. Grab a drink, hang out for an hour, then grab a garota and a head upstairs.

4x4 isn't the only termas that has the tough-guy, never-program-but-grab-ass, show-off dipshits. But, since it's the favorite of cops, they get the bulk of them. You don't see it a lot at 65 or Cancun, and certainly much less at Solarium and Monte Carlo. At Monte Carlo, you're much more likely to see a gang of European guys who roll in, act like idiots, booze up a while and then not program.

It's pretty much non-existent at Luomo.

I was there on January 25 and the girls were still wearing bikinis. Another forum has reported that the dress code has changed in the past few days. Probably February 1.

I just read other forums and they confirm your dress code change. They say that most girls are wearing short dresses or like T-shirt dresses with belts. Now we'll never know until they get to the room whether they have stretch marks, tattoos, etc.

It has been three years since my last trip to Rio DeJaneiro. I knew that prices had skyrocketed over this period. After spending R960 on weekend trips to Centaurus and Luomo it was time to get my budget back on track. This meant a trip downtown to 4x4. The ability to get in and out for as little as R220 would get my budget back on track quickly.

I had a great time with 27 year old Jasmine. Highly recommended.

I visited Quatro on Friday and I don't have much to report. I got there about 5 and probably left around 8-9. I go for the thin model types. Update on prices. 50r to enter and they have extended the time to 6:00 to session to get the entrance free. 1 hour is 280r and 40 minutes is priced in such a manner that nobody would choose it, 260r. On exit, I asked about paying with credit cards and surprisingly they don´t add any fees. It´s just the price as opposed to Monte Carlo that adds 35r for using a credit card.
