Nice size rooms, well kept. They posted $89 per night, quoted $50. Might have been off-season rates, but seems no price is set in this town. Half a block off the main drag in Miraflores. Guests are no problem, but a $10 fee.

I made a reservation at the Carmel Hotel for ten days in October 2003. They gave me a rate of $40 a night all taxes and breakfast included. I contacted them via email and they got right back to me and we communicated in english.

I have to post my praise for this hotel. What a find on my first ever trip to Lima. I originally had reserved a room at Maria Louisa, but switched to Carmel when I found that they had safety boxes in the room. This was a "must have" for me. On one occasion I rushed out of the room and accidently left the safety box ajar. When I returned that evening, the desk clerk told me that they could not clean my room that day because the safety box was open. I just love how the staff here respects the privacy and safety of their guests.
As for the room, the bed was almost as comfortable as mine at home. And the bath included a jacuzzi tub (chicas loved this feature). Plenty of channels on the TV, including one porn channel. Funny, I never had trouble understanding porn in Espanol!
I was quoted a rate of $40 US dollars if I paid in cash. $200 bucks for five glorious nights. No internet in the room, but a computer set up in the lobby and connected at high speed. I never had to wait long to use it. They even let me hook my USB cable to it to download pics from my camera (as long as I deleted the files after uploading them). I did get a shock when I read my final bill. It seems that even though I was using a phone card, they hit me hard for phone usage (almost $25 dollars and I didn't call that often).
Taxi drivers were not as familiar with this hotel as they are with others. I just told them Atahualpa y Pardo. Atahualpa is one-way and not accessible by taxi from Pardo (the driver would have to make the block and come from the other direction). I would usually just get out on Pardo and walk the few steps to the hotel entrance.
But the location was fantastic. I was only a couple blocks away from Pizza Alley (this is where I found my action). And of course Larco Ave. is just across the park from there. It never took me more than 15 minutes to walk from my hotel to Larco Mar.
The staff was super fantastic and spoke English well! And their discretion was top notch! When I would bring a girl back, she simply handed over her documents to the desk clerk and up we went without a word said (but maybe a slight grin on their faces). On my last night, I did tip the night clerk and the doorman $5 each and thanked them for their discretion! I was charged $10 per night for each night I brought a chica back, but I did not mind one bit! Definitely highly recommended if you are a first time visitor.

Stayed at the Carmel Hotel in Miraflores late last year. It’s about a block from Parque Kennedy and close to Pizza Alley. I stayed in a junior suite with a Jacuzzi in the room which my playmate thoroughly enjoyed. I paid about $100 per night and they are guest friendly with no guest fees. They take the girls ID and then call you before letting the girl come up to your room. The room had an electronic safe deposit box and internet connection. The bed was comfortable. There's a great chicken rotissere resturant across the street and many other resturants up the block.
