Of the few clubs in immediate walking distance of the most popular section of Gringolandia, Akershuz was in my opinion the best option. It should be noted that I did receive a couple light warnings about walking around between Juan Leon Mera and Reina Victoria, which also happens to be a popular spot for some of the transvestite streetwalkers.

Cover to enter is $2 and includes a free drink. I visited on two different evenings. The selection on both nights was only fair, but there were at least 2-3 ladies that were acceptable on both nights. One local with fair skin, large breasts, and short hair in pigtails stood out on both nights, and I had specifically returned that second night to grab her.

The price is $20 in advance for 20-30 minutes of room time.

One of the ladies I met here was a Colombian that worked Paradise W during the day where she was one of the dancers.

Strike out #2. I'm batting .000! Found Akershuz yesterday evening...the place is closed. A sign taped to the door in spanish...my spanish is not good enough to know what it says, but two big words stood out "Metropolito Policia". No idea why it was shut, but looks to be out of business.

If it's the same sign I saw on a number of clubs in November, I think the big word was "clausurada" or "closed". I know Akershuz was open as recently as November when I last visited, but from what I understand the temporary club closures are much more frequent. It will probably re-open, but maybe not in time for you to visit this trip.

Akershuz isn't that great of a place. I found one attractive Colombian there in November, but her personality was severely lacking. There was also an attractive brunette I found there earlier in the year, but I didn't talk to her. I found her later working at Masages Medellin.

If you haven't already, I highly suggest you try Cafe Rojo near the airport. Unfortunately it seems to be a frequent target of the closures. If closed, you can also try Mangos around the corner, but that's only an evening option. I was told they open at 2pm, but they were not yet open once when I arrived around 4pm, 6pm or later should be fine.

I made a couple visits to Akershuz this past trip. Of the two visits I only saw one among many ladies that I would consider taking to a room, but she was more interested in hanging out with her friends than joining me for a drink. This happened to me on a prior trip as well and only at this place. I'm not sure what the deal was but it was unusual.

Talent in general also seemed to be way down here. Whereas the past average might be a 6, I would say more recently it's been around 4. The location is prime, but that also might be part of the problem with the questionable legal situation going on with the bar/club/brothel openings and closures.

On my second visit here they closed off the front entrance at some point and I had to leave through the back. All the lights were off in front and they looked closed, but the door guy was still there to let people in, or so it appeared.

Cover was $3 including the beer. I didn't get an update on the room rate, but my guess would be it was $10-$15 per 15 minutes.
