Beach Girls IS NOT NEW, I been to Rio many times a friend went there a few years ago they went by a different name back then, but last year in March I was staying in a apartment on the same street as Beach girls I went to check them out, by the way they had the NAME WRONG in the phone book they had it listed as BEATH GIRLS not (BEACH GIRLS) check it out the next time you in RIO to see what I am talking about.

Any way I been to BEACH GIRLS last year and I been to them in June and again in August I only seen about 7-8 girls (they say they have 25 girls working there I only ever seen at most 8 working at one time there) I only SAW two that look do-able to me there rates are very low due to the place not being on the same standard or level as the others that are posted on this site or in RIO.

Also, they have a very good internet cafe on the bottom level, I went there just about everyday, BEACH GIRLS is located on the 4TH level.


But Jose, for the record they been around for a long time they didn't open just this week maybe you found out about them this week but, they been around for a long time, don't take my word on it, just check out the phone book (It been out since early this year).

With all due respect to the guide slammers, I think you guys are speaking a bit out of turn...while many of the posters on this site are well travelled, seasoned, and ultra sharp uber-vets (like our good friend kidcisco the bad-ass sailor), the guides fulfill a very specific purpose. That purpose is to either help newbies like myself, and/or take the element of risk, surprise and trial and error out of the mix for those that want their vacation worry-free.

Take for example my situation. I´m here in Rio as we speak, and my trip is two weeks long (15 days to be exact). Now I pay Don 200 bucks, flat fee and he literally facilitates every step of my journey, there when i need him, gone when i don~t for the entire duration of my stay for no less than 12-15 hours per day. That comes down to about 13 dollars per day, or on average, a dollar an hour. Yeah, I really feel like I´m being gouged here. Please...

Now, again, I know some folks like the challenge of finding spots on their own, and the thrill of saving a nickel, but I~m not that guy, and I think a lot of travellers like me value their time as much, if not more than their money. If it takes me 3 days to find a gorgeous brasileira that Don already knows and has on his speed dial and can direct me towards in 5 minutes, well guess what, I just made my money back and then some. Yes, there are a ton of beautiful girls in rio, but do you know which has a drug problem, or screwed some other traveller out of his money and left, or stole a camera from a hotel room? Probably not, but Don more than likely will.

I don~t speak the language fluently, and just having don´s skills as a translator on hand at every instance is worth the money IMHO. I~ve watched him on at least 10 separate occassions in 5 days (from boites, to cabs, to restaurants, etc) catch people trying to pull a fast one on the gringoes, and stop them in their tracks, again, saving us money.

Couple that with the fact that for a single traveller, the resource of a central meeting place for fellow travellers, makes the trip exponentially more enjoyable and again, I think you can see why the guides (or at least Don, since I have no experience with anyone else) make sense for many of us.

To each their own, but speaking from experience as a first time traveller in Rio currently, and blown away by Don~s level of service and dedication to the hobby, do NOT knock him until you try him. And cisco, these girls LOVE Don, they treat us BETTER because they know Don brings literally thousands of dollars their way in the form of tourist/mongers like myself, so your assessment is incorrect. He makes it a point to not even fuck the majority of the termas girls, so he can keep an unbiased view and relationship with them, free of petty jealousies, etc. Your accusation of kickbacks is weak and libelous as well. It´s illegal to pimp, and if you met don, you´d know that he´s smart enough to not endanger his business and status in brazil by breaking the law for a few measly reals.

Use him first, then feel free to dis away, or don´t use him and feel free to keep your mouth shut when referencing him. Not a flame, and as said before me, not meant to sound like an advertisement, but after five days in Rio, I consider Don not only a guide, but a friend. Listening to someone who~s never used his services slam what he does is not going to go undefended. Don~s rep and the posts from those that have used him as a guide, speak for themselves.

Habana, I made my point and we all make our on points, first timers and some old timers can take something from each others, even the fact that I was in the Navy and travel the world for over 15 years and I lived and been around the world many times, But, I still COME BACK to this site and others I always can pick up some NEW IDEALS and learn things from some old timers and NEW GUYS.

I am a French Canadian transferred in the US and travelling in the American Continent. I am new in the Latin American club scene and my last trips were to Valencia, Venezuela and Sao Paulo Brazil and a weekend in Rio. To me Latin America is nothing to compare with North America maybe except Montreal in the summer time. The girls are simply gorgeous and very warm and sooo feminine... I have been to Help and it was really impressive. Tons of beautiful girls and the place is gigantic and completely full of beautiful woman. Help is a disco where you can dance and of course meet the girls of your choice. I got there around 2AM and the party was on for quite a while it seemed. I took my drinks and relaxed a bit. It didn't take very long before I noticed a very beautiful girl with a remarquable and very inviting smile. She was not agressive at all and even waited me to go to her to start the conversation. I spoke to her in Portu-gnol and mixed with some English and French (she spoke a little French). I heard of the place before and I was curious to go there. I was not disapointed... I couldn't resist to her invitation. First she asked for $200US which I considered too expensive. I refused at that price. I stated that there are so many places where you can find beautiful girls for free... Finally I cut a deal at 250R$ which was at about 2.5 for 1USD. So I paid $100US for the rest of the night. She was simply fantastic. She had a fantastic body and she kept her smile all the time. She was sooo natural. Incredible. It seems that those girls are extinct in North America... We made love all night, had a little rest and continued as we woke up. She was very clean and careful about her hygiene. When we woke up in the morning , she made sure to go to the restroom to frech-up, wash her teets,etc. She left at 10:30 the next morning at our both regret... I don't know about the Mafia but many of the termas and strip clubs will pay cabs drivers for bringing new business so if you leave it up to the cab driver he will take you to a place that gives him a kick back. Best to read up on the experiences of others & then decide where to go from there.

Thanks Kenn - we're all dreaming of living in Rio some day. I did my damnest to miss the flight. I was at the termas' door when they opened at 4pm, had a few drinks at the bar, 1 hr in the suite, a few good-bye kisses then raced to the airport in time to make the 7pm flight. Next time, I think that I'll try to squeeze in another 40mins in the cabine. Some of the best days of my life have been spent in Rio after missing flights home. :-) Actually next time, I'm going to carefully check flight schedules & I'm going to avoid any airline with 7pm departure times on Sundays.

When is the best time to go Rio if choosing between November, the end of January and April? Please take into consideration costs (November is the end of low season, January is the middle of the high season and April is a shoulder month), crowds (I'm trying to avoid sword fights) and the amount and quality of girls available.

Nordboer--- Viagra is sold at most pharmacys, the best price i found is 68R for 4 50mg tablets. That pharmacy is located close to Barbarela, there is a pharmacy acrossthe street from Barbarela, it is not that one but keep walking same side of street, the next one is it. sphere - my guess is that there isn't much of a difference between the quality of girls between Nov - April. High season is really probably more like Dec-Mar but I'd guess prices & girl quality would basically be the same in that period. Carnaval is the 1st week in Mar this year (prices will triple for apts/hotels) and there are enormous crowd but it also is one of the most exciting times to be in Rio. I think that you should go in Nov, Jan & April.

Now there is a big difference between number of girls between the high season (nov-apr) and may-oct. Many of the girls leave for other locals in the low season. But it is a blast year around.

It is warm in Rio, 34C, beaches were full like I have never seen.
Started my trip with a run at Solarium, 50% turnover, disappointed in selection which bordered in the 6.5 to 7.0-. No 8 except this black garota but I prefer loiras and morenas.
Ended with a Lia morena 7.0, my best session since ... last time I was in Rio.
With current exchange, I made the mistake I think to go apartment route as not much saving.
Taxi cabs use a chart to make up for oil price increase with low Real level. So 30% higher than metered price.

Nope, I've never noticed a travesti at Help. Believe me, I LOOK for them and they are not in Help. There might have been one once that was on the bubble but she(whatever) didn't look good enough to be a travesti. I have heard that they are discouraged from entering there. This may deserve a thread all in itself. The only places I've seen tv's are in Lapa, notably in front of Augusto Severo in front of Rio Antigo terma; a few in front Barbarella's at closing time and some at the end of Copacabana at the turn into Ipanema at Rua Joaquim Nabuco.

Once in a blue moon you will see a TV in help, but this is NOT the norm. In all the years I have been going to Rio, I have only seen a TV in help about 3 times, and 2 of those times were during Carnival.

What can I tell you, they're around, but I'm not exactly running around lookign for them, or counting them. Honestly, most of the ones that I wind up noticeing are ones that my "date" points out to me, usually as she giggles about whoever the gal/guy is suckering in... Who knows?
