I have stayed at two hotels in the Hotel Zone, La Siesta and the Gandara. Prices are competitive between most of the hotels and usually run about $500 pesos per night. I don't recommend La Siesta only because there was sewer stench coming from the drains in the bathroom. They moved me to another room but I could still smell it. Also no one at the front desk spoke any English. Pluses are that it is within walking distance of sports bars, restaurants and one table dance club, Bossnia. I much prefer the Gandara.
