All about this lovely country - saddled on the cusp of two continents.

Turkey is an interesting country. There's a large USAF base there, but I can't recall seeing or hearing much about any mongering there but it's been many years. The movie "Midnight Express" was a very popular indoctrination movie that the USAF would show to new airmen being stationed there to instill the fear of Turkish justice and prison.
Anyway, I think it's interesting that you placed Turkey with other Asian countries. It's considered to be in Asia Minor so I guess it's geographically correct. However, I think placing it in the Middle East or a separate category of Near East countries would probably be more appropriate. Istanbul is in the same time zone as Cairo and it shares its eastern borders with Syria, Iraq, and Iran.
Just a rambling thought. . .no big deal. I don't think there's going to be much write-up on the mongering scene in Turkey or Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkestan, etc.

Imho, the scene in Turkey ( Istanbul and Ankara) is tough.
Go some places with ladies ( and I use the term "ladies" liberally) and you will get a bill if they just sit with you.
