Day 1

My arrival into Aruba wasn't the smoothest. Our flight departed 45 minutes late and landed 60 minutes late. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but when your car rental company closes before your plane lands, it's a hassle. I was supposed to land at 8:30pm so I put a pickup time of 9:30pm. I got to the car rental places, located immediately across the street from the airport entrance, at exactly 10pm. Everyone of the rental agencies was open except for Avis, the company I chose to rent from, and from the looks of it, they were long gone. The other companies were closing soon. One of them, Dollar I think, had a car available for $35US for one night and closed at 10:30pm. A couple of the places were completely out of cars, a couple others had cars for $60 for a night. I returned to the $35 place at 10:15pm and they had closed. I ended up renting at Hertz for $60.

I had Google directions for the airport to the Caribbean Palm Resort (CH Link), but with the lack of street signs, or ones that hidden, it was difficult to follow. Lucky for me I had a general idea of the layout of the island in advance and got myself going in the right direction. Hardly anyone was out at 10:45pm so I had to stop for directions at a place called the Bo Wah Bar. A customer was able to point the directions on the map given to me at Hertz, that turned out to be much needed. All I had to do was continue in the direction I was traveling, take a left at the first roundabout, take a right at the third roundabout, and go straight until the first stoplight. I didn't need to remember this because it was apparent from the map.

The Caribbean Palm check-in took a while because the clerk couldn't get the computer working. He ended up giving me the key and telling me I needed to complete check-in in the morning. When the security guy took me to my room, he took me to the wrong one, so I had to wait in the hall for 10 minutes while he returned to the front desk to figure it out.

After a quick cleanup, I was soon on the road. The path to San Nicholas was fairly straight forward. I had to get back on the road where I last turned right, continue straight until I hit a T intersection to turn left, then continue straight to San Nicholas.

On the way there I passed the Bo Wah Bar when I thought I shouldn't have. I got a little confused and hoped that I didn't somehow get turned around, but I suspected and later confirmed the Bo Wah Bar is a chain, or at least there are two of them.

I knew there was an oil refinery in San Nicholas, and as I approached the T intersection I thought I saw it, but those are actually water desalination and electricity plants.

As I drove down the main road I made a slight detour around a Valero gas station on the left because I had read that a Valero station was near the entrance of the red light district. This one wasn't it, it was a good ways further.

Eventually I ran into the correct Valero Gas station and made a few incorrect turns before turning down the correct street. I'll go into proper directions later on. I then saw a sign mentioning Charlie's Bar, so I knew I finally made it.

The street was virtually empty. I passed the Caribbean Bar and parked in an open spot past Chesterfield and just before Fantasy Nights. The street isn't that long, so I did a quick survey of the area first. I saw women standing in front of bars at a couple places, one of them was clearly attractive. Finally, I made my first stop in The Pleasure Zone (CH Link) at the end of the street at 12:45am.

Things didn't look good. The only person in The Pleasure Zone was an older, unattractive bartender. I asked the hours and was told 7pm-3am.

The Roxy Bar next door looked closed. The attractive brunette had been at the bar after that, G-Spot. I went in there.

There were 6 or 7 women available in G-spot (CH Link). A couple were attractive. The one I saw earlier, clearly the best looking, was sitting down. Of course, I got approached by a member of the B-team. We didn't talk long, I ended up shooing her away.

After a smile exchange, the one I liked approached. Her name was Evelina. She was a mid-twenties beauty from Medellin with straight black hair and some serious curves. I bought her a few drinks while we talked. She seemed like would be fun and it was late, so I agree to a session with her for her quoted price of $45US.

In clothes, Evalina's body looked a little exaggerated, but out of them even more so. Her tits were clearly fake, but I liked them. The ass seemed a bit overdone, also fake, but I liked it. As for the sex, Evalina was fairly accomodating: no bbbj, but she was open to DATY, 69, and no limit on positions. Her performance was only adequate, good enough to enjoy, but not good enough to consider a repeat.

I wanted to check out Chesterfield since Allover had mentioned it was his favorite, so I started walking there, noting the open clubs along the way.

Black & White looked closed, Java Bar, Ron & Menta, El Bongo, Copacabana, and Fantasy Nights were all open. A few more down side streets looked open, but I didn't check them out.

There weren't many women in Chesterfield (CH Link), either. A couple were cute and one was ok. Another wasn't attractive. A fifth was very attractive, but I wasn't sure if she worked there considering how she was dressed. When she left through the front with her date, that seemed to confirm it. I hoped that I caught Chesterfield at a bad time and night.

The way back to the Caribbean Palm was the same, not difficult at all. I bought a coke at a 24hr market on the way. I then realized I was hungry, too, so I grabbed some food at the 24hr El Mexicano food truck around the corner of the Caribbean Palm. I ordered some tasty chicken wings and fries for 12 Florins, a little under $7US.

Despite the bumps, I had a decent time my first night and went to bed with my sex, food, and drink needs all fulfilled.

Waiting to hear more. I hope the late arrival explains what sounds like a limited talent pool.

Day 2

My body was beat after all the hassle of traveling and the additional challenges that met me in Aruba, so I slept in late. When I finally woke up, I got checked in at the front desk. I had to pay a $150 cash deposit. I had them call Avis for me so I could confirm my rental was still available. It was, so I drove back to the airport to return the Hertz car and pick up the new one. I stopped at two gas stations along the way. They had given me the car just under 3/4 full and told me to return it 5/8 full. I first put in $6, but it hardly moved the needle so I put in $5 at the next station. That brought it to 3/4. I probably would have been fine after the first stop but didn't want to risk them charging me some crazy high amount for not bringing it back with enough gas.

The rest of the day consisted of getting more rest and getting to know the area. I could feel a headcold on the verge of coming on, so I took it easy. Some of my exploring brought me to the nearby beach area where I grabbed some food at Wendy's, a Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger with Chili, and explored the nearby shops.

Nothing else noteworthy really happened until almost 10pm, when I headed back to San Nicholas. There were lightning storms in the sky, but no rain and no thunder. It made for some interesting scenary for the 30 min drive.

I had to make a few surprising laps to get my bearings. Then I realized that the reason I couldn't find the main street was because it was blocked off due to a festival earlier. I had to park on a nearby sidestreet and walk over. I was a little concerned leaving the rental in an area where so few people were, but at least it was visible from the main road.

I walked around a bit before deciding to enter Java Bar first, there seemed to be something going on inside. I was right, the place was packed...with guys. I saw one dancer on a pole and no other women. I decided to go elsewhere.

A couple places had their doors open so I could look inside without walking in. Minchis Bar (CH Link) was empty. Ron y Menta (CH Link) had one overweight woman. Copacabana (CH Link) had only one woman I could see, not attractive. I decided to try Chesterfield again.

The same four women were working at Chesterfield, the hot civilian wasn't there. Of the two better looking ones, one had a nice bottom half, but small tits and an average face with a bored expression. The other was cute with braces and a youthful look over large tits, but thick in the ass and legs with little definition. A guy came in and sat with the bored looking one. She looked a lot better when smiling. They eventually took off to a room. With her friend gone, the young looking one approached me.

Ruby was from Pereira, Colombia. We didn't talk much, she was boring and had very litle to say. She also acted young, pushing me with a pouty look on her face like I was teasing her. I'm sure some guys would have gotten off on that, but I didn't find it appealing. She gave up when a large group of Asians came in. They didn't really do anything to express interest in her, but I think she figured out her charms weren't working on me.

I continued on the tour stopping in Bongo Bar (CH Link). Three ugly women were available, I had a drink and left. I walked into Copacabana this time. There was another woman I hadn't seen earlier, but she wasn't very attractive either. I then walked into Fantasy Nights (CH Link) next door and ordered a drink. This place had four women, one of which was cute. She soon disappeared into the back with the guy she was with. A different Colombian approached me and introduced herself as Diana. She was ok in the face, but a little on the heavy side. I politely chatted with her for a bit but then let her know I wasn't interested. I left and started heading back to the other end of the street.

Ron y Menta still had just one. Minchis bar had three woman now huddled towards the back. One looked like she might be ok, but I couldn't tell from the distance and wasn't interested in getting a closer look.

I was going to skip Java Bar (CH Link) this time, but fortunately I didn't. I walked in to find the crowd of guys gone and three of the most attractive women I had seen all night. One caught my eye right as I walked in, but I continued past and sat at the bar. Eventually she approached.

Rosa was from Bogota, and was a slim beauty with long, braided brown hair. Her tits weren't that big, but she was all natural and had a nice figure otherwise. We seemed to connect very well, so there was no question I was going to take her, but we still had a couple drinks beforehand to warm up.

Rosa quoted $50 for her after paying $10 to the bar. I didn't go into detail about this earlier, but my understanding from my first night was that most bars have a drink minimum for the women in order to get the key for the room. If you don't order enough drinks, you have to pay a set rate, or sliding rate depending on number of drinks purchased.

The session with Rosa was a little disappointing. It was about the same as with Evelina, but since Rosa and I seemed to hit if off, I was expecting much better. With that I decided to head back home as it was late.

As I was driving back down an alley, I spotted Carolina's Bar (CH Link). This was another place Allover mentioned that I wanted to check out. I still had a few days so I continued driving.

On the way home the lightning had increased, but it was still silent. The sky was lighting up anywhere from 10-20 times per minute, so it seemed a little surreal. It wasn't until I got about halfway back that the roads were wet from an earlier rain, and then not until the stoplight next to the resort that I heard any thunder, but it was quiet. I stopped at El Mexicano again and ordered tacos this time for 9 Florin. They were delicious...another good ending to a decent day.

Day 3

My trip wasn't going to be all hobbying, but I got off to a slow start because of the travel stress and it's effect on my sinuses. On this day I setup a couple tours, an ATV tour and a snorkeling tour. I had wanted to try scuba diving for the first time, but I couldn't because my nose was started to get stuffy. With my next two days planned, I did some more shopping and got some pizza at the tiny food court in the Palm Village mall. It wasn't very good.

I rested some more trying to fight off the cold, and didn't get back out until the evening. The guy that reserved the tours for me mentioned a "liquid fireworks" show in the small mall adjacent to the Palm Village Mall. I got there right at 9pm when it was supposed to start, but the show wasn't until 9:30. It was mildly interesting to see the water shooting and spinning to movie themes such as Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Empire Strikes Back, but it wasn't even really worth the 30 minute wait.

To make up for the shitty lunch, I decided to get some Sbarro's nearby but got lasagna instead. That wasn't very good either.

I didn't got on the road to San Nicholas until 11:00pm. I was in Caribbean Bar (CH Link) by 11:40pm.

Caribbean had two women at the time. Both looked ok from what I could make out in the dark, but both were busy. The bartender said they were open until 5am, so I continued on.

I passed Chesterfield and rounded the corner to check out Carolina's Bar, but they were closed.

I walked past an average looking woman working the entrance to The Pleasure Zone and made my way upstairs for the second time. This time there were three women, two of them fairly attractive, but I soon realized they were tourists. I had a drink and bailed.

I was headed back to Caribbean Bar when a pretty dark haired spinner I spotted the night before asked me to come in. I walked in and saw Rosa was busy with another guy, that was good. I sat with Carolina from Medellin for a little while and bought her a couple drinks. These ones were more expensive than I thought they should have been, they set me back 14 Florins each.

A large group of drunks guys that were part of a bachelor party then came in. They had been talking to Carolina earlier, so they kept talking to her again and were kind of rude about it. Carolina appeared a little torn, I think she preferred my attention, but realized the large group of guys were potentially more money. They wanted her to dance for them and Carolina asked if it was ok, specifying she didn't want to have sex with any of them, just dance. I wanted to broaden my experiences in Aruba anyway, so I told her to go ahead and that I'd be back for her later. She was reluctant, and said she'd go with me now if I wanted to take her, but I told her it was ok and that I'd be back.

I left and walked down a side street to take a peek in The Honey Zone. There were three woman inside but none of them looked attractive from what I could see of their bodies. I then got a clear look at one and she was ugly, so I continued on. Based on the location, I didn't think they were likely to get good talent.

There was a place near The Honey Zone called Bar Jardin Junior which was even further off the beaten path. I couldn't see anyone inside and the area looked really sketchy, so I continued on.

I decided to give Chesterfield another shot. The same four women were working. I wasn't inspired.

Back at the Caribbean Bar, both women were now available along with a third which was a tall, dark-skinned black woman. She was decent looking, but not really my type. Of the two I liked, the one I didn't prefer approached me first.

I forgot what part of Colombia Melissa was from. She was pretty with long brown hair, but she didn't have much personality. We didn't talk for long before I let her know I wasn't interested.

The right one approached a few minutes later when I smiled at her. Paola was another Paisa from Medellin. She was slightly overweight, but the curves looked good on her and I liked her fishnet outfit. Her face was also pretty, even with the chubby cheeks.

Paola turned out to be a decent lay and I loved her big fake tits and how she felt from behind, but I couldn't stop thinking about Carolina and how I'd actually prefer to be doing her. I altered my rhythm so I wouldn't come and blamed it on my discomfort from the cold and my sinuses, which were in fact bothering me. I paid Paola her $50, gave her a hug and kiss goodbye, and headed back to Java Bar.

Carolina was glad to see me and Rosa was still busy with the same guy. We had one more drink before going to her room. The session was easily the best so far as she was the first to kiss passionately and she was really into the DATY. Her petite body fit very well with mine and we had a very energetic romp. She continued to kiss me all over my body after I was done and seemed genuinely into me. I gave her $60 total for going the extra mile. She seemed very happy with that.

I didn't get out of there until 3am. Again, I stopped at El Mexicano for tacos. I quickly ate then hopped into bed, with only a few hours to sleep before my pickup for the ATV tour.

By Stat on Tuesday, October 09, 2012 - 12:24 pm:  Edit

Day 4

The van to bring me to the ATV place, Cherry ATV, arrived just after 8am. If you decide to do the ATV tour for $95 US, which I do recommend, it's a good idea to make sure you have sunglasses, sunscreen, and sneakers. Besides protection from the sun, the sunglasses will make it easier on your eyes when driving at higher speeds. Flip flops are fine most of the trip, but when visiting the natural pool you may do some walking on wet rock, and the flip flops can get slippery. Also, part of the ride is very rocky and very rough. I didn't think it was very difficult, but you will be bouncing around a lot.

I got dropped back off at the resort around 1pm. At that point I was starting to pay for my lack of sleep, my sinuses were worsening. I drove to a nearby supermarket for some medication. They didn't have any since it was only sold at the pharmacies, so I just bought some vaporub and drinks and grabbed lunch at the nearby Wendys.

Back at the hotel again I just rested and browsed the internet. At the restaurant I overheard some guys talking about a huge event that was going on that night. I didn't pay much attention since I had plans in San Nicholas, but the event would turn out to be there to my dismay.

Despite feeling somewhat shitty, I set off for San Nicholas around 8:30pm. About halfway I hit a fair amount of traffic where one of the stoplights was. After getting past that it was mostly clear until I got close to San Nicholas where it started getting busy again.

Once I was a few blocks away, I could tell that the event was a major deal as more roads were blocked off and cars were parked on the sidewalk everywhere. This was something I noticed every now and then, cars that appeared to be illegally parked on the sidewalk. I'm not sure if it's legal in Aruba, if the parking rules are just not enforced, or just not enforced during special events when cars are everywhere. I ended up parking half on the sidewalk about 4 blocks away and started walking.

The redlight zone in San Nicholas was completely blocked off on all sides with a very long line extending past the entrance. The festival looked packed, but the line appeared to be moving at a decent speed. It looked like a lot of fun, but I started feeling worse and worse and didn't have anything to take. I hung out in the crowd outside for a while, then decided that there was no way I was going to enjoy myself in the middle of huge crowds while sick. On top of that, I was doubtful that the hobby bars would be good to visit when packed with the other kind of tourists. I had a snorkeling tour the next morning, so I decided to just head back. Tons of cars were still coming in while I was driving out.

I never had problems finding parking at the resort until tonight. Both lots were completely full and no one was leaving at 11pm. I ended up parking in a dirt lot across the street. Normally I would have problems falling asleep when sick, but I was so tired it wasn't a problem.

By Stat on Tuesday, October 09, 2012 - 01:49 pm:  Edit

Day 5

I had to be at Hyatt Beach at 9am to leave at 9:30am. Parking was easy to find. Hardly anyone was around at 9am. I came close to bailing because I still felt like shit, but I stuck around.

The snorkeling tour was with Dolphin Tours and was based upon the recommendation of the guy that sold it to me. That turned out to be a bad recommendation. The tour actually wasn't bad, except the others tourists were all old. The Jolly Pirate snorkeling tour which was on a larger boat was full of younger folk with some nice eye candy.

Strangely, I felt pretty good while I was swimming around in the water. After the first dip, being back on the boat wasn't as bad, but I always felt almost normal while in the water. I'm not sure why that was.

The best part of the tour was viewing one of the shipwrecks, but the sea life wasn't very diverse or colorful. The water was also very choppy that day. It didn't bother me much, but some of the older people hardly spent time in the water and only stayed very close to the boat. I've been on better snorkeling trips elsewhere.

After the tour I stopped by the pharmacy but didn't buy anything because the Nyquil I wanted was a huge bottle that was overpriced and would have been useless to me in a couple days. I also considered sleeping pills, but they only sold that in a big bottle, too. I just got some lunch and tried to rest as much as I could before the evening.

Sunday evening in San Nicholas was horrible. The only bars open were Caribbean, Ron y Menta, Minchis, and The Honey Zone. Caribbean was the only one that had decent talent. Melissa, Paola, and the black woman were there along with a new straight black haired Colombian that was attractive, but nothing special. Paola joined me for a drink and we chatted a bit, but I wasn't motivated enough to repeat or go with one of the others in my condition. I left Caribbean and decided to cruise the alleys in the car.

I recognized women from G-Spot and Chesterfield, but they were some of the less attractive ones. Chesterfield was the best option in the alley, but I wasn't feeling it. I headed back to the resort for the second night empty handed.

Stat,

Sorry to hear about your illness and maybe Aruba in general?

I'll admit to not reading every last word here, but it sounds like a lot of back and forth from bar to bar with out finding any good options. I'll be giving Aruba a big pass and throw St. Maartin in that category as well.

Neither place has anything approaching Campo, by any accounts I've seen. Still I appreciate your willingness to try the unknown and hope the rest of your trip turned out better than the first 2 days.

By Stat on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 - 06:48 pm:  Edit

Finishing the report soon, but you have the general idea. The headcold made things worse, but even without it the options in Aruba are limited. The information was already posted here in earlier reports, but I missed it. Every bar only employs a few women, maybe six at most from what I can tell, and that's it per bar. It doesn't make for a very entertaining atmosphere.

That said, I don't regret my decision. I enjoyed my time but I won't be returning.

I did some additional research and it seems that between Aruba, Curacao, and St. Martin, Aruba is clearly in last place, but St. Martin is supposed to be much better. My impression was that Campo is the best single venue, but that the St. Martin scene was more varied and fun. I think I'll try there on my next visit to this part of the world.

Day 6

This day was my last day, so I spent much of the early part of it shopping in downtown Oranjestad. I had considered doing the submarine tour, but didn't want to risk going on there feeling like shit.

Caribean Palm was having an all-you-can-eat rib special for $20, so that was my dinner. The ribs and service were very good.

I got on the road for San Nicholas at 9pm and got there at 9:40pm. I had wanted to check out Roxy Bar and Carolina's Bar, but they were both closed. Java Bar was also closed, but I would find it open later.

I decided to try Fantasy Nights and look for the semi-attractive woman I spotted earlier. I found her there, but she wasn't as attractive close up. She was older than I thought, probably early to mid 30's, but she was still decent looking. Despite my lack of enthusiasm for Daniella from Medellin, I took her to the room for $50 plus $12 to the bar.

Once we got to the room and into full lighting, I was already regretting my decision. Her face just weren't up to my standards and her stomach pouch was more pronounced outside of her clothes. Her covered blow job and performance during sex were ok, but I simply wasn't attracted to her enough to get off. I was unable to get a photo of Daniella for my collection, but it wasn't much of a disappointment, she was probably best forgotten.

I crossed the street to Chesterfield, which finally had someone new working. Unlike the other two I was considering, the petite brunette had both a pretty face and a nice body. She was busy when I got there, but she saw me checking her out and soon after left the guys to come see me.

Natalia was from Bogota and had dark hair and a cute face with braces. She appeared to have a nice body, but it was hard to tell with the clothes she was wearing, all I knew for sure was that she had nice legs. We spoke for a little while and I thought it was going well, but she eventually excused herself saying she'd be right back, but didn't return. Instead she talked to friends and later joined a group of guys.

Since my options at other bars were limited without repeating, and I still wanted a Chesterfield notch, I stayed at the bar and drank a little more. No one was taking Natalia to the room, so when she freed up I called her over again. She didn't seem interested in going to the room like most women did, but I brought it up and she agreed. I paid 14 florin to the bar committed to 75 florin for her.

The sex with Natalia was much better than expected given her bar demeanor. Natalia started off with a great blowjob and really got into the sex with lots of grinding and some very hard fucking. I had half-expected she might just lay there, but she turned out to be one of the hardest riders I've had in some time. I ended up giving Natalia a little extra for her performance.

Java Bar was open now, it turned out they opened at 10pm. Rosa was working and came over to see me, Carolina wasn't around. I hung out and had a drink with Rosa before saying goodbye and moving on.

Roxy Bar was still closed. I decided to head into G-Spot again, it wasn't until this time that I realized Black & White was now part of G-Spot now. I hung out with Evelina for a short time and bought her a drink. There were 5 other women there, but none I really considered worth doing. Evelina gave me a short massage, so I gave her a small tip for that and decided to head back to the resort.

This was the first night El Mexicano wasn't there. I drove down the road a bit further for a beef burritto at a small place called La Casita next to the Valero station. It wasn't very good. The lot looked full but I luckily found a spot near the gate. I quickly fell asleep after getting in.

Final Notes

My flight wasn't into the late afternoon, so after packing up, I drove into San Nicholas to take a look around in the daylight. While I was there, I snapped some pictures of the bars.

One of the places I finally got to see was Charlie's Bar. This place had been closed by the time I got there every time before. Charlie's Bar seems to be a well known place, but it's just a tourist bar for drinking. The inside is as wildly decorated as the outside, perhaps even more so. A few tourists were inside, but other than that, San Nicholas was practically empty.

On Sundays and earlier in the evening, perhaps even late afternoon, some of the women from the bars work in the small street and alleys behind the main strip. Some also work there full time including evenings, in smaller type casas, but most of those weren't very attractive from what I could see. Around noon on a weekday, no one was out.

I put the last $20 of gas in the car, filling it up around with just a few cents left. I was able to top it off.

Customs here worked like Canada. I went through US customs in the Aruba airport. This process works so much better and faster than it does at the international airports like JFK, DFW, and MIA. I wish more countries had this in place.

We were waiting for about an hour and a half past boarding time when it was announced that our flight had been canceled due to a mechanical problem. I took it in stride, but most people were very unhappy. We were bussed to and put up in a nice hotel. Since I only had carry on, I was one of the first to get checked in. With three or four busloads of people, some were waiting in line for over an hour even though the process seemed fast when I got my key and dinner/breakfast tickets. Our flight was scheduled for the next morning, but we weren't given an exact flight or pickup time until almost 10pm that night.

I could have gotten a taxi to and from San Nicholas for the evening, but I was hardly feeling up to it. Even if I was completely healthy, I doubt I would have been interested given that I had already sessioned with most that I was interested in. If San Nicholas was easier to get to, I might have tried Java again, but I decided to stay near the hotel.

We had to hike about a quarter of a mile to get to the restaurant for our dinner tickets. They had a tasty looking buffet, but the value of our ticket was only $12 and the buffet was $40. I ended up getting a nice cheeseburger.

Back at the hotel, notes were slipped under our doors announcing our pickup was at 5:45am. I spent the rest of the night resting and browsing the internet.

As 9am approached, our flight was delayed again for the same reason as the day before. After that got fixed, we were delayed further because the FAA asked American to check for loose seats on the plane, an issue that came up elsewhere recently. We didn't get into the air until past 11am. Fortunately, it didn't affect any of my later connections. I finally made it home.

It's always nice to get away from home and have sex with beautiful women abroad, so in that sense, I considered the trip a success, but as mentioned in a response above, Aruba's a place I don't plan on returning to.

Thanks for sharing your adventures in Aruba BTW.

First set of Paola photos have been renamed to Rosa. They were properly submitted but we made a copy/paste mistake when processing.

I was in Aruba this year, but it wasnt for purposes of mongering. It never occurred to me that it was a mongering destination especially when so many people go there for family vacations and such. When I was on the beach, I saw a group of three guys who were with some women who were obviously prostitutes. I wasnt in a position at that time to go exploring myself.

The prices you have quoted seem very good especially when everything on that island is priced at a big premium.

From my discussions (admittedly some time ago) with providers at the source (both in the DR and Colombia) as well as other hobbyst it always seemed to be that Aruba was a thumbs down.

From the stories I was told it seemed overpriced as well as low quality and service place. The vibe I got was that a lot of the older, more hardened in the know providers migrated there after the local younger competition made the situation unattenable for them locally.

There must be some stunners around but not widely available and surely at a price.

Thanks for fixing the photos.

For hobbying overall I would say Aruba is a thumbs down. I enjoyed myself, but it is too inconvenient and lacks the benefits of many other places.

The biggest drawback was the setup of the bars. Each bar only had a few Colombians working in it. They have some sort of contract where they live and work in the same place for three months at a time. There was too little selection and a muted atmosphere most of the time. Java was the only exception, but it still paled in comparison than what you would expect in bars in other countries.

Cost wasn't an issue and finding attractive ones for a few days was easy, but any longer than that and you'd probably have to do repeats or lower your standards.

Renting a car is required and an additional expense.

You probably won't see many other hobbyists like yourself, mostly just locals. I was surprised to see groups of local asians more than any others.

If you're there for other stuff, make a visit and have some fun, but don't go just for hobbying, you'll probably be disappointed.
