I started traveling in 2007 and have been to most of the major Latin American destinations Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica etc. This will be my 8th trip to the DR and I wanted to experience New Years in Sosua for 7 days.

Sunday, December 30th Day 1

Try to avoid changing money at MIA or POP the exchange rate is 34-1 market is 40-1. My favorite taxista picks me up at POP and gives me good intel about my future trip to Santo Domingo warning me only to take authorized taxis and to avoid the hack taxis that are known to set up their passengers. He advised always look for their identification before you ride with them. He takes me to the Supermercado for a few snacks then drops me off at the hotel.

I stayed 7 days at Hotel Plaza Europa (CH Link) nice staff, apartment style room. When you walk in the room you’re in the bedroom then you walk through a door and you enter the living room and kitchenette. The room was obviously dated the mattress was hard but I got used to it. Despite the squeaky ceiling fan it was very comfortable especially for $45.00 per night. I think I will enjoy my stay here.

I started my evening at D Latin (CH Link) with grilled ¼ chicken and a salad. The chicken was just a little on the salty side but very tender and tasty. The salad had just a sprinkle of vinegar and hit the spot. This pequeno boracho sat down at my table and started talking to me I ignored him until he asked for 100RD after saying no he stumbled away adios…lol! A caramel colored chica about 5’6” 140lbs with less than 10% body fat post in front of me while I am eating and started doing her modeling thing. She was perfectly formed with tight abs, thighs and legs that were well defined. The body was tight like a fitness model but the face not so much. She smiles and signals me over and I tell her “lo siento es mas temprano” she looks at me and cracks up laughing and walks away. It was too early and I knew I had a long night ahead of me.

1. First up a 5’4” 115lbs flaquita that looked like she was dipped in gold and left in the sun to bronze from Las Terrenas was leaving to go back home in the morning so she couldn’t do TLN. I was captivated by her million dollar smile and pleasant personality wants to be a lawyer when she done with the life. I loved her petite body and model face but in la cama she was just a little too professional for me. She started out very soft and gentle but the CBJ reminded me that this is not my GF. She wanted a propina and I told her I don’t give propinas for CBJ’s damage 1500RD.

2. I head back to D Latin’s for round 2. I see and old acquaintance from previous trips, kiss her and give my saludos. She said she was ok but I wasn’t sure. Topfotog I would withdraw money from ATM's it kills 2 birds with one stone you a pay the bank transaction fee and that's it. You can also go to the banks, I did not try the "change" men on the street as I don't get a good feel for them.

Monday, December 31, 2012 Day 2

I sleep late because when at home I work overnights so I am up when everybody else is asleep. I wake up and do some research for a project at work and I get a lot accomplished. I know this sounds strange but sometimes it’s easier to work when you are not at work because you can move at your own pace.

It’s New Years Eve and the Gentleman’s Club (former Secrets) was closed. Though out the evening Classicos (CH Link), Merengue Bar (CH Link), Rumba (CH Link), and Universo Bar & Resturant were slow with only a handful of patrons and almost no chicas.

El Flow (CH Link) had a decent crowd but not many chicas. At D Latin’s (CH Link) what a difference a day makes. Yesterday the joint was off the chain with some of Sosua’s finest but tonight it was wall to wall men. I suspect that Sosua’s finest have returned home to spend time with their families. It appeared to be a 10-1 ratio with the Hatianas out in force and almost none were to my liking. It was so bad I was ready to pack it up and head back to the room. Passions (CH Link) crossed my mind however in 2 previous trips I had poor experiences with chicas so I cannot justify the prices for poor performance. I have dinner on the restaurant side of D Latin’s pollo asado, habichuelas con arroz y ensalda. The chicken had a mild sauce that I enjoyed some of the rice was a little old after sitting out a while but I smothered the good part with beans that were quite tasty. The salad had little chunks of carrots in it that added to the texture and flavor. With just a sprinkle of vinegar the salad was on point.

I am bored stiff when Yanni walks by and smiles at me. She comes back and takes up a position as Madonna would say “strike the pose.” Although Yanni is a flaquita like I like them it is obvious she is not starving. Yanni has a little pouch that comes from that good Sosua living if you know what I mean. Yanni is about 5’5” 135lbs with braces, a vanilla ice cream colored complexion and a few small tattoos on her back and right bottom leg. She is wearing a multi-colored mini dress that she keeps pulling down because it is so short. Will somebody please explain why women wear micro mini dresses and keep pulling them down? It’s like wearing stacked heels and taking them off to walk. I think she is quite sexy but a little aggressive for my taste but it’s late and almost crunch time. I asked Yanni how long she has been in Sosua and she says a year… yeah right, MENTIROSA! In the past 3 years on my trips to Sosua I have always seen her walking the streets of El Batey. This was the first of many red flags she would waive throughout the course of the night. We are sitting at the bar while she is paying me Sosua like attention complete with the lap dances touching caressing and light kisses. She is very sexy and provocative. I see an old favorita on the other side of the bar and her face lights up and we have an instantaneous connection and she walks over to me while Yanni is in my arms and I say “disculpe por un momentito” she looks at me with this puzzled look and I step aside to hug mi favorita and we chat briefly apparently she knows Yanni and gives her a hug. Mi favorita gives Yanni her endorsement pointing at me smiling shaking her head affirmatively and saying something in Spanish. I can speak basic Spanish but I understand very little rapid fire Dominicano Espanol. We embrace again and mi favorita returns to the other side of the bar. Now Yanni starts acting funky looking at mi favorita and I ask her “porque estas celosa?” she just looks at me and turns away. A few seconds later she in my stuff again like nothing happened can you say “loca?” She grabs me by the hand and runs across the street to the German restaurant and we sit down. Now I can see the inside of her right arm a tattoo of a man’s name and I enquire “es tu novio?” she pauses and looks at me with that “oh shit” look and nods yes and quickly changes the subject. I asked her 3 times “que quieres por tu regalo?” and she kept ignoring me and on the last request she seemed to get angry I am thinking “surely this can’t be free!” I say dos mil pesos and she agrees reluctantly it was if she didn’t want to talk money I am like WTF? We get on a moto concho and ride to the hotel in the light rain. When we arrive in my room she plays with the TV for a minute so I try to go to the bathroom and she blocks my egress with her leg we are both fully clothed but she pulls me down on her. She opens her legs and pulls me in dry humping sighing and moaning and I am thinking to myself “WTF?” I get up and take a shower after which she does the same. We lay in the bed and she commences with the BBBJ which was okay but not long enough. We have wild sex multiple positions the most enjoyable being standing up while she was looking the mirror. Here’s the catch I negotiated the tarifa but not the tiempo so she gets up and starts putting her clothes on so while she is looking in the mirror I sneak up from behind bend her over slide the panties to the side and here we go again. I am like this chic is off the chain like some porn movie in 2 hours I hit 3 times. Anyways she gets a call from her novio and starts to spazz out I am like WTF, it’s time to go hunh? In retrospect it is probably better we didn’t sleep together. I prefer suave sex as opposed to wild sex but I did enjoy the sex because she was very animated and passionate but out of the bed she was little too much for me and I would not repeat. I hear a voice saying “nunca otra vez.” Damage 2000RD and 100RD for moto concho, it was raining on and off and she said she lived far away, I wasn’t going to argue with her over 50RD.

Tuesday, January 1, 2013 Day 3

I start my day off at Rumba in the afternoon and I ran into Sara Perez we met on Badoo last year and when I saw her photo I thought I would fall out my chair because she reminded me of a darker version of Naomi Cambell. She is about 5’8” 140lbs slender physique and she is so dark she looks like a Hatiana but she is a Dominicana. We shared messages on Badoo then shifted to Facebook where I confirmed it was her I was communicating with. Once I arrived we met at Rumba and I was so captivated by her I was suckered into paying 4000RD for TLN and dinner for what turned out to be mediocre sex. We have communicated on Facebook since then and whenever I ask “que haces?” she is always watching the news or the novellas I can only guess how she earns her living. She ask me to buy her a Baileys and I say I’ll buy you a beer and she says “no me gusta cerveza” ok so they have spoiled women in Sosua for real? She ask a second time and I say “no” after which she smiles and walks away, I think she found and old guy to buy her a Baileys. My motto is I get to screw you as many times as I can afford but you only get to screw me once “nunca otra vez!”

Ran into Yanni from the previous night and she says she wants to return to my room to get the chocolate that I gave her as a regalo and I say “NOT” she walks away only to go back to doing what she does best.

I move to D Latin’s and try the ribs they are not as tender as Rocky’s but the sauce was kickin I could taste a hint of pineapple that was off the chain. A cute pequena stands next to my table with a menu and passes me a discrete pleasant smile that reveals her braces, she orders her food then ask if she can sit she is 5’2” about 120lbs her complexion is a rich mahogany. Since she meets my basic criteria with the exception of the “Sosua pouch” I agree. One thing for sure I am seeing a lot of “Sosua pouches” on these chicas they certainly aren’t missing too many meals. So I chat her up and she is funny cracking jokes and making faces I think to myself she going to be a lot of fun so ask her “estas disponible?” and she looks around to both sides and to her back and I start rolling laughing it was if she was saying do you see anybody else here? I ask her “que quieres port tu regalo?” she gives me the Kanye shrug and I say $1500RD she agrees and off we go. The sex was mediocre but what got me is after we finish she gets on the phone and starts talking to some guy in English and I am like WTF? So much for a little cuddle time I rush and put my clothes on thinking to myself she needs to GTFOHWTBS, sorry guys her speaking English just floored me!

I head back to D Latin’s and run into this Hatiana pequena with a caramel complexion she needed a perm but although she was only about 4’11” with her heels on her legs and thighs were off the chain. We danced most of the night but we were delayed by her giving one of her amigas her cedula. I think her amiga stiffed he and did a TLN when she was supposed to do a ST and she was pissed. It was getting late and I started looking around and she sensed it and said “puede econtrar otra chica” which I did there was a golden Dominicana standing next to me about 5’4” 115lbs and she kept smiling at me for some unknown reason. It was late for me there was no courting or casual conversation I went straight for the kill “que quieres port tu regalo?” and she said $1500RD and I said “vamos.” The BBBJ was pretty good but the sex was mediocre and she rushed out of my room like she had an appointment with destiny. I am not doing very well with the chicas as far as GFE but I am way under budget for my 3rd day.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013 Day 4

I started at Rocky’s for that favorite breakfast I recall the waitress from a couple years ago when she was much thinner maybe she had a baby or something I dunno. The waitress was very professional but not friendly it was like she was thinking “I know you are a monger” and I’m like what do you know? Number 40 scrambled eggs, bacon, Rocky’s famous potatoes and toast, I don’t know what kind of jelly that was but it was muy sabroso!

Back to work almost finished my project then have lunch at Rumbas. I am sitting in the front facing Pedro Clisante and my back to the bar when Pocahontas taps me on the shoulder and says ” quieres tomar” I was so blinded by the sparkle in her black eyes the shine of her flowing black hair along with beautiful white teeth that fused seamlessly her Ebony skin I said “para ti?” she said no “para ti” I said “eres tan hermosa estar una masera” and we both cracked up laughing. I had a fish sandwhich and fries that was decent. Uh oh I ran into my pequena Hatiana and wow what a difference a day makes, without heels and her hair up she does not look that good and I am soooooooooooo glad and I didn’t go with her. We exchange saludos and she asked me about last night’s chica and after I explained she gave me the Kanye shrug like “I told you so!” and I looked at her like what do you know? She is not clingy aye que bueno she kisses me and off she goes.

I hit D Latin’s for dinner for my favorite pollo asado arroz y habichulas y ensalada. The chicken was dry but I’ll give them a break it was after 11pm. So I do the stroll and the joint is back in force after the holiday and I see this chica who literally looks like a model. She is 5’4” 120lbs with flawless ebony skin with her black hair pulled back which provided a simple but elegant look. She is wearing a simple strapless black dress that is snug but not too tight with heels that accentuated her thin shapely legs. She was dressed modestly pero tab sexy! I stop her and chat her up offer her a drink and what she order? GENTLEMAN jugo de naranga I’m like “YES!” a modest chica who doesn’t drink. The whole time I’m talking to her she is Facebooking on her blackberry I am like WTF? She says “hablame” I am like “estas ocupado con tu telefono” she puts it away then starts up again. I say “disculpe voy al bano” with no intention of coming back. She spots me later in the club grabs my hand and takes me to a seat. We negotiate ST for 1500RD and she is still with the &^%*( phone she looks at me and says “entonces?” I responded by saying “creo que puede encontrar otra hombre” she had this sad look on her face and I walked away. I wish I knew how to say “rude” in Spanish but I left it alone. Now I am standing next to the chica Lionel Ricthie wrote about in his famous song “Brick House” this woman had the ebony skin a like a pleasant smile 5’6” about 150lbs with a back extending from her back I was like woooooooooow! So we chat up and she won’t give me a price and she finally says $2500RD for ST and $3000RD TLN I tell her the tarifa in Sosua is $1500RD for ST she turns and shows me her back as she walks away. Next up is another ebony chica who is on the slimmer side but very curvy 5’4” 120lbs I am not sure so I ask “eres Hatiana o Dominicana?” she says Hatiana and we talk about why Afro American men often times choose Dominicanas over Hatianas. Personally I have no science to back it up but if someone really wants Hatians they should go to Haiti she looked like she understood. Anyways she was muy complaciente and I was astounded at the fact that she spoke Creol, French, Spanish and a little English. I can barely speak English and I am talking to a woman who speaks 4 languages. She will not give me a price and she says prices are for Dominicanas can you say “que bueno?” We are off sex is okay BBBG wasn’t anything to write home about but I think it’s more me than her I am thinking about my project. We finish I start on my computer with my project she puts her clothes on and I give her $1500RD and go back to work. I am still way under budget and loving it!

Thursday, January 3, 2013 Day 5

Started with the number 40 for breakfast at Rocky’s I can’t get enough of that jelly! Today the waitress was a little warmer and a little friendlier maybe she had a bad day yesterday I dunno? I was supposed to go to Santiago to see a favorita but she didn’t respond to my text until later in the afternoon she said she didn’t have minutes on her phone I don’t know if it was BS or not but regardless I don’t think I’ll see her this trip.

I was at the beach at sunset and all I can say is “lindisima” watching the yellow sun burst from the light blue sky that flows seamlessly into the aqua blue Sosua Bay is a different kind of eye candy that is nothing less than a sight to behold. In the early evening while eating a hamburger at Rumba’s I see some of the same chica’s that I see at D Latin’s at night and I think “what a difference a day makes!” When these women take off their heels and wrap their hair up in those black hair nets some of them are totally unrecognizable. The contrast is sometimes like Jekyle and Hyde.

Later that night I am standing next to D Latin’s dance floor and I feel the presence of beautiful black eyes. She is sitting on the couch and she says something I cannot understand but I recognize her from earlier in the evening at Rumba’s she was sitting next to me and I spoke but I tried not to make too much eye contact because it was too early to pull the trigger. She is about 5’1” 115lbs with the golden brown complexion that I like so I signal her to follow me to the balcony and I buy her a beer. We have a nice conversation of course she is struggling and has been abandoned with child like many of the women we encounter but she radiates a sweet innocence not calculating like some of the other Sosua sharks. She gazes at me not like I am a trick but like she really likes me with those big black eyes and I eat it up like it was pollo assado…lol! I offer her $1500RD she agrees but she says “tengo hambre” so we walk toward the hamburger stand and order her a sandwich and suddenly it occurred to me to ask her “tienes cedula?” and she said “no” I told her that at Plaza Europa that her cedula is mandatory and she had this sad look on her face so I gave her $200RD let her eat her sandwich and told her “no podemos pasar tiempo junto sin cedula” I kissed her on her forehead and headed back to D Latin’s.

I saw my butterscotch chica from the first day from a distance and her eyes light up simultaneously with her smile she jumps out of her seat and runs over to me giving me a bear hug. She is wearing a black mini dress with a see through black top and I ask her “porque estas siempre tan sexy?” she smiles modestly and grabs my hand and we sit together in 2 empty seats. I tell her how much I appreciate the fact that she is not like the other “chicas” and she gives me the awwwwwwww look and hugs my neck and off we go $2000RD TLN.

Friday, January 4, 2013 Day 6

I have lunch at Rumba’s and get passes by the locals but I remain tranquillo. I see the chica who didn’t have her cedula sitting next to be giving me the eye but as so often I have found in Sosua they look different during the day. I am no longer attracted to her so I blow it off. Finally she says “cerveza por mi?” I give her 100 pesos hoping she’ll go away and she does after some old guy entertains her. On my last trip I saw Yennefer who is 5’4” 120lbs with a golden brown complexion and long black hair. She always dresses modestly with jeans a top and sandals there is an inward beauty about her and a confidence that she doesn’t have to dress like a “puta.” Her face has very sharp features and if her smile were an Olympic Event she’d win a Gold Medal. When I was in Sosua in November I saw her but she was always surrounded by men and out of reach to me. She is standing at the front entrance next to her amiga who is giving me the eye but I am trying to ignore her. She walks toward me and I say “Puede ayudarme, estoy buscando por una sonrisa” she cracks up laughing and here we go. She sits down and we talk like we have known one another for years. She speaks slowly so I can understand about 40% of what she says and we have good communication. She says my Spanish is “muy bien” and I am like yeah right I am talking to you like a 1st grader…lol! I took Hugrad95a’s advice and told her I would give her $1500RD for ST and if we connected we could spend the rest of the evening together for more. She smiled and nodded yes and off we went. The session was the most GFE I have experienced on the trip she was very affectionate touching and sighing etc. BBBJ was okay but I enjoyed the GFE more especially the “aye Papi Chulo” part…lol!

I decide for my last 2 days I’d rather stay with a sure thing than the hit and miss that I have being doing the last 5 days. She agrees to spend time together and we go to her place so she can change clothes. She lives in a one room apartment with a fan, table 2 chairs and a bed. I am humbled by how she lives and I am reminded of my first trip the DR when I saw houses with tin roofs no windows and doors and dirt floors. One thing about the real DR if you are open it will help you to get a perspective on life and how much we take for granted. We have dinner at Oh La Vache Pizzaria and drinks at D Latin’s and Rumbas of course on a Friday night the women were out in force and as beautiful as ever but I was straight. She saw me look at the other chicas and just smiled can you say “tranquilla!” When went back to the hotel for more GFE and I am absolutely enjoying her company. We satyed up for about an hour talking in my broken Spanish and it was a real bonding time that I enjoyed. Woke in the morning hit it again now it’s time to start my last day in Sosua.

Saturday, January 5, 2013 Day 7

After our morning session and breakfast at Rocky’s my new favorita and I decide to meet at Rumba’s later in the afternoon around 6. I relax in my room and get some rest.

I show up at Rumba’s a little early at 5 just to get some eye candy for my last day and I saw only one chica that would make me want to sway off my current path of GFE she kinda looked like Jennifer Lopez with shorter and a darker peacan complexion but being the monogamous guy that I am I stay focused. While sitting at the first table facing the street a couple of chica’s tried their luck. The first chica sits down and says “Hola, como estas?” I said “Estoy bien pero estoy esperando por mi amiga” she said “ok estoy esperando por mi amigo” I don’t think she thought I was serious because she rested her hand on my thigh so I moved my leg her hand fell and I ignored her by playing on Facebook on my phone. She finally got the hint got up and walked away. Another chica does her little dance in front of me sticking her culo out shaking it with tenacity but I ignored her also. Well I guess that wasn’t good enough because she sat down and after our saludos I said once again I was waiting for my amiga and at that time she shows us and sees this chica sitting with me and she stands there smiling so I point at my amiga and say to this chica “ella esta aqui” and this chica gives me the meanest look and walks away. I thought what an attitude of entitlement I did nothing to encourage this chica as a matter of fact even if I wasn’t with my favorita I would blow her off so I am like cut it out your are trippin! So my favorita tells me the other day she sees this chica in the bathroom snorting coke and we both started laughing, we have a drink and head t my room for some GFE.

For dinner we decide to go to Universo Bar & Restaurant right across from the taxi stand on Pedro Pedro Clisante. The ambiance is outstanding with comfortable couches a black back drop with multi-colored lighting that makes it beautiful at night. There is an upstairs bar and dance floor with down stairs seating with pillars but nor doors so you can feel the breeze it was quite comfortable. I don’t know what they do in the rain but this night it was just right. I was impressed with the staff because it was obvious they were trying to make an impression but it wasn’t over kill. I believe this is a new spot and it is more upscale than Rumba’s and D Latins. They have US prices I paid about $20.00 for a large Hawaiian pizza and 2 pineapple juices but it was worth the experience and ambiance. It is more of a couples spot than a single spot to hang out a couple of chicas came in from the street made their rounds at the bar and kept it moving.

We returned to D Latins stayed awhile and returned to the room for more GFE. I thoroughly enjoyed my favorita’s company and we parted in the morning I kissed on the cheek and she said “tenga buen viaje.”

Lessons learned:

1. If I stay at Hotel Europa again I do not want a room close to the street it was entirely too much noise.
2. Unless you have a favorita Sosua should be avoided during holidays, for a couple of days it was really dry and slim pickins in a normally fertile place.
3. I am going to continue to learn as much Spanish as possible primarily because I love the language but also I have re-discovered the obvious you will have a better experience the more you can communicate with the chicas. Almost all of them love a sense of humor and you can throw some serious stuff in there every now and then for some balance.
4. Dealing with these chicas will always be a crap shoot just because you have a good connection outside the cama doesn’t mean you’ll have a good connection inside the cama. Risk is a part of this “thing of ours” and there is no way to get around it.
5. Set a budget you are comfortable with and try to stay close to it.
6. When we negotiate price with these chicas for many of us the money is not the issue because with the exception of Asia you don’t get a lot of destinations where you get sex for $35.00 an hour. Between Rio, Cartagena Panama City and San Jose you can pay $100.00 $150.00 easy for ST. In this “thing of ours” we are all grown men with varying taste and life styles however I believe for us it should not be about the money it should be about the principle.
7. The women who insist on unreasonable amounts of money and make it a priority are generally the ones that need to be avoided.
8. It is sooooooooo easy to get attached to the good ones especially after the bad ones but let’s not forget “it is what it is” and keep our heads straight.

I am headed to San Salvador, El Salvador in February and Cartagena, Colombia in April. I don’t know when I’ll get back to Sosua but I am sure you guys will keep me up to speed. Hasta luego!

Thanks for sharing your trip. How much did you end up paying the last chica (Yennefer?) for LT GFE?

Topfotog the tarifa in Sosua is currently 1500rp ST and 2 or 2500 TLN. The first day we were together the entire afternoon until morning 3000rd and the second day the same 4000rd for the same time. She was total GFE and one of the nicest people I met and quite honestly seeing where she lived humbled me. I figured she needed the money more than I did. Hope this helps.

Camaro..... I know what you mean, I dropped off in a cab a beautiful young chica once to her home after spending the night with me in Puerto Plata. When I saw where she lived, I gave her an xtra $50 dollar bill I had on me. A 1 room shack with bars on the window and a tin roof. I never ever saw someone so appreciative before.

Johnnyroc it's good to know there are some good guys in "Our Thing" true some of them are sharks but I have met quite a few dolphins who are as sweet as they can be.

Thanks for your detailed report! I consider myself a seasoned monger, having traveled to many of the top worldwide locations. When I travel to Sousa I alway keep my expectations low but generally have had some great times. I met one especially excellent repeat - A Haitian - that always treats me well, as well as a girl from a dating site that lives in Puerto Plata. Being based in Miami now (I used to live in Rio) I just absolutely love the short flight time and laid back atmosphere that reminds me alot of Brazil. I always rent a car and stay very mobile. Since I like to drink, go the beach, and party, I take the lows of the DR lady scene in stride and just move on to the next. There are always duds no matter where you travel.....but for the pure convenience, it is hard to beat Sousa. Lovingmarvin Hatianas fascinate me with their ability to speak Creol, French, Spanish and sometimes English it never ceases to amaze me. I can agree more often than not they are some cool people. I live in Atlanta flights to POP are just under $700.00 on AA if I was in MIA I am sure I would travel more frequently.

Unfortunately flights from Miami to POP are not that cheap anymore - they have been hovering around $500.00+ recently.

It amazing how flights from NY to POP are cheaper than flights from Miami to POP!! SMH!

Check out the DR all inclusive deals on skyauction. If you have a girl in DR that you plan to meet, the skyauction all- inclusive deals can be a real savings. I have scored deals at $40 per person per nite.

For me the difference between POP and STI is only $50.00 and SDQ is the same as POP on AA where I have all my miles. I guess we're stuck it is what it is....
